Does anyone have any top tips for playing Chaos Dwarves with Skaven??

Tie up the Bull Centaurs (if they don't have break tackle), stay away from the CDs and hit the hobgoblins.

General skaven tactics - kick deep and try to stop the cage forming in the 1st place. Don't let your line rats get dragged into a blocking war (don't follow up if you can get blocked).

Taking out the hobgoblins reduces the CDs chances at ball handling...

how do you stop a cage forming though, if you dont have tackle zones on players after blocking them?

I had also heard the short kick was a good way of trying to force an unintended turnover, followed up with a GR nabbing the ball...

Put simply : there's no way to stop a CD team with Skaven ! Laughing

But seriously, I would say stay away from CD and BC, hit the most HG you can and blitz a lonely guy on the pitch. But a lot of praying would also help ! Wink

You stop the cage from forming by kicking deep and then getting enough players between the LOS and the ball that there aren't enough players to cage up safely. Against MA4 CD's this isn't as hard as it may be.

Only if he has block! Otherwise, a couple of CD's will take care of him, especially if one has Dauntless !

Let him form a cage if he likes, but use your re-rolls/ Gutter runers to move everyone off the line so all he can do is move one square and blitz one person. Gutter runners are great for this. Bad side is that it's your armor vs his, but it does stop the score. Good side is he only gets one block/blitz per turn. The idea is to limit his movement AND his blocks. He sure ain't going to out run/pass you.

Block his Hobbies all you want, use RO to pick off stragglers. DO NOT PUT RO on line to stop cage. Make sure RO has plenty of space to choose stragglers and does not go near main cage.

Works great against Dwarves as well.

Yep, I said a rat ogre would be a good complement to some prayers, as some prayers are a good complement to a rat ogre..... Wink

So rather than knock players out of the way, you make it hard for them to get around the ball? Sounds like a good plan. I've always found that in every cage there is always a weak point that a decent blitz opens up, but not having to hit the cage at all sounds better

dammit I need to move so I can join the ECBBL... need some competition!

Yeah but at some point you will fail a dodge and have no re-rolls. It's a good plan up to that point Wink

More so if you have an excellent runner/dodger that can exploit any scattering ball into or in proximity of a cage...

All plans have their risk. It is not perfect, but it does have merit.
