Euhm... Okay!
Up until this stage then...

The inspiration came from a Bull Gorg conversion I saw on portent (a Necromunda special character, basically a naked fat bloke with chainsaws instead of hands) which I reckoned would be the perfect base for a foul, bloated Chaos Lord of Nurgle (yummy!).

Day 1
I started out with collecting the bitz needed for the conversion, which are
- the lower legs & feet of a plastic Chaos Warrior
- the bare head of a plastic Chaos Warrior
- lotsa greenstuff
- a 25 mm square slottabase
- some brass rod & plasticard

I started by gluing the feet to the base. Then I roughly sculpted the upper legs. After these had hardened for about 20 minutes I sculpted the belly (basically a rough, egg-like shape stuck to the legs) and let that harden for another 30 minutes (I hate being patient!).
Then I sculpted the chest area (basically another greenstuff "egg", this time less wide but higher than the belly) and a thin neck.
The head was attached to the neck and with greenstuff I filled out the throat and neck.
Finally I sculpted the shoulders. Roughly again.

Day 2.
Everything had hardened so I started on the detailing. First I did the thick collar around his neck, then the armour on the belly. The hole where the maggot is crawling out was made by poking a hole in the still soft greenstuff with my sculpting tool, the maggot itself was sculpted a few days later (just a "sausage" of greenstuff, after it has hardened for 20 minutes you can sculpt the "rings" in it). The tiny bits of cloven armour at the edges were made by cutting the soft armour with a sculpting tool. The broken bit on the belly were the intestines are poking out was cut away after the greenstuff had hardened for a few days. The intestines itself were made by placing some tiny greenstuff balls on the area and smearing them out with a sharp tool. The shoulderplate is just a rough, basic shape made from a blob of greenstuff. The chainmail was done by first scuklpting the basic shape, letting it harden for a few hours, covering it with a very thin layer of greenstuff and poking holes in that with a needle, drawing the point slightly downwards in every hole and working from bottom to top.

Some things I've learned so far:
- don't mix too much greenstuff in one go - it's a waste, after about 15 minutes the stickyness and suppleness wears off.
- build everything in layers. It takes loads of patience but the results are better!
- spit is your best friend. It prevents stickyness when you don't want it and it helps smoothen your tools.
- chainmail stinks Wink

There can be other arms sticking out of a Squig's mouth?!? I can see pretty, delicate fingers with manicured nails broken. Squig flesh impacted under the nails from her feeble attempt to defend herself. Arm a bloodless blue-white towards the elbow shading to a healthy pink-white at the hand as the blood drains from the limb from the Squig sucking on it like some macabre pixi stick. Does that make me a clairvoyant?

I can see the pyre now. Nice one. I approve...

Well, the whole model will come to about 1,5 packets of greenstuff when it's finished, which is cheaper than a standard Chaos Lord Wink
The sculpting tool... I don't know how much I paid for that, had it for years. You can also get tool-like things from your local dentist (well not exactly the same, but it's stainless steel and has a pointy flat end).

This IS training - if you don't try you never learn and so far the biggest project I've tried is two tits Wink

Greenstuff is available as Kneadite or something like that. It's officially stuff used by plumbers to repair holes. I don't know who the manufacturer is, though. And GW's sculpting tool is a good all-round one, but I'm gonna look for other tools as well for more variation.

I made simple modifications to some ball and chain night goblins (made the balls 'fuzzy' like pom-poms) and similarly altered a squig. The paint jobs are okay. If you would like to see them they are athttp://www.geocities.com/faintlym/goblincheer.html Hope that they give you a few more ideas.

from what I read, it's better at produce "sharp" edges (for swords and the like) whereas green stuff is better for the rest of the mini.
