Information
Tournament Lore
Ulric, the God of Winter, Wolves, and War is tired of how “soft” Blood Bowl has become. Back in his day, players played through their injuries and continued to fight to the bitter end. In the snow…uphill…both ways. In an effort to bring the sport back to the “good ol’ days”, Ulric has sent out invitations to any team that had the guts to play by his rules. Do you have what it takes?

Tournament Rules and Roster Creation
This tournament will require the coaches to submit 4 rosters.

The first roster will start with a Team Value of 1,250,000. Each team must have a minimum of 11 players before adding Star Players and these players will stay the same throughout all 4 rosters. Players are limited to 2 skills each in the 1st round, 4 skills in the 2nd round, and 6 skills for rounds 3 and 4. At no point may a player have more than 2 doubles.
You cannot add skills to Star Players.
This is the only point at which you can add ReRolls, players, inducements, or anything else other than skills. Journeymen, Special Play cards, and Mercenaries are NOT ALLOWED.

Normal skills are 20k and Doubles are 30k.

After the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds, the Tournament Organizer will roll a D16 five times to determine injuries received in those rounds. Each number corresponds to the same number on the coaches’ rosters. The first number rolled gets –STR. Second is –AGI. Third is –MA. Fourth is –AV. Fifth is a niggling injury. For example, if the first number rolled is #2, then the player in the #2 spot on your roster accumulates a –STR stat reduction for the rest of the tournament. If the coach does not have a player in that slot, then they receive no –STR penalty for that round.

The 2nd round roster will have a total Team Value of 1,500,000 as each coach is allowed to add 1 Double and 11 Normal skills to their roster.

The 3rd round roster will have a total Team Value of 1,750,000 with an additional 3 Doubles and 8 Normals.

The final 4th round roster will accumulate 1 more Double and 11 more Normals to bring the final Team Value to 2,000,000.

NOTES:
• All rosters will be submitted ahead of time without knowing the injury rolls. No adjustments will be allowed during the tournament.
• Star Player will not accumulate injuries. Their personal apothecaries keep them healed of injuries. (Your team apothecary cannot do the same for your other players.) Note that the “Highlander Rule” IS in effect, though.
• A specific roster spot can only have two stat decreases. Any additional time that number is rolled will be ignored and no player will get that specific injury in that round.
• Any injuries suffered during an actual game do not accumulate. The only injuries that carry over are the ones rolled by the Tournament Organizer.
• Different colored bread-ties denoting each injury will be provided to coaches so that everyone can easily identify affected players.

Special Weather Table (Each table rolls for their own weather)
2-3: Snow Blind - A glorious day, but the blinding sunshine reflects off the snow causing a -1 modifier on all passing rolls.
4-6: Sleet – The ice water cuts through to the bone. Add a +1 modifier to Armor Breaks and Injury Rolls caused by failed Dodges and failed GFIs.
7-9: Deep Freeze – It’s not snowing, but it’s so cold that it’s hard to get moving once stopped. Standing up a player now requires 4 Movement instead of 3.
10-12: Blizzard - It's cold(er) and snowing (harder)! The ice on the pitch means that any player attempting to move an extra square (GFI) will slip and be Knocked Down on a roll of 1-2, while the snow means that only quick or short passes can be attempted.

Special Kick Off Table (None)

Star Players
Coaches may employ any star players that are allowed for their team in the CRP Rule Book.

Also, due to Ulric being the God of Wolves, he has convinced Wilhelm Chaney to make himself available to any team willing to pay his fee.

Not to be one to sit on the sidelines, Ulric has decided to take Wolf/Werewolf form and offer his services to all teams:

Avatar of Ulric:
Stats: MA 6 / ST 4 / AG 3 / AV 8
Skills: Loner, Block, Frenzy, Mighty Blow, Piling On
Cost: 240K

Note: If you are including any Star Player in your build, you must still have 11 players on your team BEFORE being able to hire them. Having 10 plus a Star is not allowed.

Rule for Multiple of the Same Star Player
Star Players may NOT play for both teams. The “Highlander Rule” IS in effect.

Sportsmanship
We are here for the fun of the game. Sportsmanship is not only encouraged from the coaches, it is required!
Fouling 16 turns in a row and running up the score is NOT poor sportsmanship, but gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is.

The Sportsmanship Award (Worthy Opponent) will be determined based on answers given in the Etiquette Sheet.

The Tournament Organizer will strictly enforce the “Don’t be a Douche” policy. Basically, it consists of not performing any acts of Douchebaggery.

Awards
The following trophies will be given out after the last round:
• Winter War Champion - First Place Team in the standings with the most overall points after 4 rounds.
• 2nd Place - Second Place Team in the standings with the 2nd most overall points after 4 rounds.
• 3rd Place - Third Place Team in the standings with the 3rd most overall points after 4 rounds.
• Most Brutal - Team with the most KO and CAS bonus points.
• Best Offense - Team that scored the most TDs.
• Best Defense - Team that allowed the fewest TDs.
• Best Fluffer – Awarded to the coach that has the best team fluff, as determined by the Tournament Organizer. Team name, player names, background stories, and anything else that adds to the atmosphere of the tournament.
• Worthy Opponent – Worthy Opponent is decided by participants via an “Etiquette Sheet”. The Tournament Organizer will break ties.
• Punching Bag – Team with the most KO and CAS bonus points earned against them.
• Frostbitten – Last Place Team in the standings with the least overall points after 4 rounds.

Spread The Wealth
A coach may only win one award. If they are in line to win more than one award, they may be asked which one they would prefer and the next coach in line would be given the other award. Tournament organizers reserve the right to adjust the awards. Best Fluffer and Worthy Opponent may go to coaches that won other awards depending on scores and how many coaches are in attendance.
