Post subject: Blingtoof's Gitbash 4 (Hamilton, Ontario) - Nov. 15-16, 2014
UPDATED 4-AUG-2014

Hey, everybody. Blingtoof's Gitbash has been a wandering vagabond in it's short life and we're going to our fourth location in as many years but this one will be the best one yet. This year we will be at Black Knight Games in Hamilton, Ontario. Black Knight is a fantastic store and they support Blood Bowl more than any other store I've seen. Aside from a league with over 30 active coaches (Check out "Hammerbowl" at http://www.bkbbl.com) they also stock miniatures and Blood Bowl-related products from Impact Miniatures including Dreadball.

DATES
The 2014 Gitbash will be on the weekend of November 15-16, 2014, and will be five games over two days (3 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday).

LOCATION
Black Knight Games
868 Mohawk Road East
Hamilton, Ontario
L8T 2R5

(905) 296-3401

2014 RULES POSTED
CLICK HERE to download the 2014 Blingtoof's Gitbash rules. They are largely the same as prior years. Download the document for full details but here are some highlights:

- All teams must have at least one goblin on them; all teams not ordinarily allowed to purchase goblins may purchase as many goblins as they like and teams with goblins as a player type may purchase as many of those goblins as they like (this does not include Secret Weapons).
- This is a resurrection-style tournament with a 1140 TV build with a skill pack.
- Teams that do not have at least three goblins on them may not give Big Guys upgrades other than normal skills.
- The skill pack is four normal skills and one doubles skill which must be given to five separate players.
- One goblin on your team also receives the Fan Favourite skill for free. This is in addition to the skill pack.

REGISTRATION
Registration for Blingtoof’s Gitbash is being done through Black Knight Games’ till; I will not be collecting cash. You may pre-register for the tournament ahead of time by calling in to the store at 905-296-3401 with your credit card or in person at the store. Pre-registering for the tournament will be highly preferred as it will make things go faster on the first day.

All coaches that pre-register and pre-pay for the tournament will receive a bonus team re-roll that may be used once over the course of the tournament (i.e. once for the whole tournament, not once per game). Cost for the tournament will be $20. NAF membership is mandatory. Local players with "Stronghold" memberships (Black Knight's loyalty program) will receive a reduced tournament entry fee of $16.

ORDER FROM IMPACT MINIATURES, MAKE A BETTER PRIZE TABLE!
In the past we've done a group order from Impact but this year we're doing things a bit differently. Black Knight keeps items from Impact in stock on their shelves so for us to do a group order outside of that would be more than a little douche-y.

Impact has stepped up, though, and basically said that they'll donate 17% of the value of whatever we order from Impact through Black Knight as prize support. So, for example, if we collectively order $1000 from Impact we'll get $170 in prizes. Pretty sweet, eh? CLICK HERE for full details on how to order. To be clear, you need to order from Black Knight for the tournament to get prize support; if you order direct from Impact it doesn't count.

I will soon be putting in this year's order for pitches from FF-Fields. I'm getting confirmation on pricing but, based on prior years, roll-up vinyl pitches should be around $45 and puzzle-piece pitches should be around $65. If you are interested let me know! Get yourself some Home Feeld Udvantij and get a bone when sneaking players on to the pitch!

Well, fair enough, but the various "Rumery-Bowls" you hold in your back yard attended by you & a bunch of headless mannequins have yet to be NAF-sanctioned.

Lets not talk about that cheesy goblin build. Something is clearly wrong with that. S8 X 2, S5 x 2 and wasnt there another strong player on the team? Broken.

Hey mang

Put me down for a solid maybe. But in looking over the rules, I found one things very confusing. In the team creation you seem to contradict yourself with regards to Big Guys and the sanctioned status. You say:

• Big Guys may not be given upgrades other than Normal skills if they are on a Sanctioned Team.
• The Leader skill may only be purchased by Sanctioned Teams

Which is it?

Oops. Right you are. The first bullet should say:

Big Guys may not be given upgrades other than Normal skills unless they are on a Sanctioned Team.

Dark storm clouds gather on the horizon. There is a an electricity in the air as if the whole world has taken a deep breath and is holding it, anticipating some great imminent event. Nostradamus foresaw it, the bible foretold it, and now you are alive to see it....

The Second Coming of Spazz (insert Dan's Mom joke here...)

Make sure that your insurance is paid up and you kiss your love ones goodbye before coming out on Saturday, because I plan to take no prisoners. You will arrive with your heads filled with lofty dreams of victory and some of only will find it... against other people. But then you will find yourself sitting across from me, and your blood will go cold and you will look imploringly to the TO who will turn a blind eye to your wordless plea. You knew the risks when you'll signed up. Death will be swift and your ruination will be certain. Your dreams of tournament glory will be crushed, just like your players on the field. By tourneys end, I anticipate that many will be reduced to tears and begging for mercy. But I will simply collect your tears in my cup and gargle them as I roll the dice to put the last of your team into the casualty box. Touchdown after touchdown, casualty after casualty, I am going to unleash my pent up fury upon you like a jelly donut. None shall stand before me, all trophies will be mine (except the spoon, Tom can have that).

I do apologize in advance, not for my lap-sided victories at the tourney, but rather for any inconveniences caused by the Paparazzi clamouring for a picture of my magnificent appearance. Please plan your escape routes accordingly.

Wappy, my apologies if I scare anyone away. But I feel it only fair to warn them in advance.

To all my victims, try to rest well before the tourney. I will see you Saturday! Twisted Evil

How will I ever respond to such a stinging retort?

Oh I know. By dismantling your team on the pitch like a stolen car in a ghetto chop shop. First I will remove the tires, and by that I mean the catchers. No more quick TDs. Then I will tear out the engines by which I mean the wardancers. Break their legs so the team cannot run, then All that is left is the vehicle body. Those poor linemen. They will be facing my team with no backup. Imma gonna hurt them so bad that they will not resurrect for the next game! On the second day you may think that someone has stolen your team whereas the truth will be that the models will have defected given the poor treatment they received at my hands.

So to you Grant I say, if. I am a puss, then you are the turn in my litter box.

Have at you!

Hey, everyone. Here are some interim results from day 1:

http://www.engler.ca/blog/?p=1463

We have two undefeated coaches (grant85 with three wins, Peter_Meers with two wins and a tie) facing off at the top table at 11AM today for game 4. The fouling race is also hotly contested with tlawson in first with 39 points (7 stuns, 8 KOs, 5 CAS), Peter_Meers in second with 37 points (11 stuns, 3 KOs, 4 CAS), and andyinjapan in third with 33 (9 stuns, 2 KOs, 5 CAS).

Blingtoof's Gitbash 4 is in the books! I’d like to quickly thank Black Knight Games for hosting us, Impact Miniatures for sponsoring us with some great prizes, and a special thank you to Kevin “Frostmane” Stewart for generously donating his North American Team Championship Skaven/Goblin hybrid team as a prize. I will blog about the event later this week but here are the results. Wins were scored at 3 points, ties at 1 point, losses at 0 points. Tie breakers were net TDs, net CAS, total TDs, total CAS.

Tournament Scoring (W-L-D):
1. grant85 (Wood Elf): 13 points (4-0-1)
2. Stimme (Dwarf): 10 points (3-1-1)
3. Kikurasis (Undead): 9 points (2-0-3)
4. Manz62 (Orc): 8 points (2-1-2)
5. brunner (Human): 8 points (2-1-2)
6. hammer16 (Pro Elf): 8 points (2-1-2)
7. Peter_Meers (Orc): 8 points (2-1-2)
8. wapcaplets (Underworld): 7 points (2-2-1)
9. tlawson (Norse): 7 points (2-2-1)
10. Barrovian (Underworld): 6 points (2-3-0)
11. Da5id (Chaos Dwarf): 4 points (1-1-3)
12. andyinjapan (Orc): 4 points (1-1-3)
13 jarpox (Orc): 3 points (0-2-3)
14. Spazzfist (Ogre): 0 points (0-5-0)

Trophy Winners:
Tournament Champion: grant85
Best Fouler: tlawson (81 points for 17 stuns, 12 KOs, & 10 casualties from fouling)
Most Touchdowns: grant85 (17; title graciously yielded to Stimme to spread the prize pool around. Prize was inadvertently awarded to brunner because of TO error)
Most Casualties: Peter_Meers (13; 3-way tie with Stimme and Da5id. Peter_Meers 7 Da5id were also tied for net casualties at +10 so foul points were used as a final tie-breaker)
Best Team: Spazzfist (“Los Luchadores” – a Mexican wrestling mask-themed Ogre team)
Best Sport: Barrovian (The man who loves Blood Bowl most of all)
Wooden Spoon: Spazzfist

Thanks to all the coaches that came and made it a fun event. It was very encouraging to see that eight different coaches received votes for best sport. My biggest priority for Blingtoof's Gitbash is to make a tournament that is fun for everyone and if that many coaches were thought of as the best sport then you guys are doing something right. Also, it was great to see the theme of the tournament embraced with coaches combining for a grand total of 99 stuns, 39 KOs, and 48 casualties from fouling.

Next year will be the Gitbash's five year anniversary and I want to make it the biggest & best Gitbash yet. I hope to see you all there.
