The Great Lakes Amorical (GLAM) Tournament Series is ready to enter its 5th year!

Last year, we experimented with a few new concepts: only counting a coach's top 5 tournaments and introducing a separate achivement point-based rankings. Overall, there was quite a bit of positive feedback with the new adjustments! I've taken into account various constructive criticisms and tried to build on and revamp them for 2020 (see below for details).

I will keep updating this post with the list of 2019 scheduled GLAM tournaments.

  1. Phoenix Bowl (Kitchener, Ontario) - Jan 4
  2. CCKO (Gatineau, Quebec) - Jan 18-19
  3. 2 Quarters Cupl (Holland, Michigan) - Feb 8
  4. Veggie Bowl (Kitchener, Ontario) - Feb 29
  5. Sous-Sol Mini Amorical (Chatauguay, Quebec) - Mar 7
  6. Super Star Smackdown (Toronto, Ontario) - Mar 14
  7. Jack's Bowl (Elmvale, Ontario) - Mar 28
  8. Max Aggression Bowl (Niagara, Ontario) - Apr 25
  9. Mooseknuckle (TBD) - May 2
  10. Brewhouse Bowl (Waterloo, Ontario) - May 23
  11. Amorical Cup 2520 (Ottawa, Ontario) - Jun 6-7
  12. Border Princes (Bainsville, Ontario) - Jul 25-26
  13. Coupe des Quatre Nations (Repentigny, Ontario) - Sep 12-13
  14. Underworld Cup (Franklin, Michigan) - Nov 14-15

--------------------------------------------

Rankings will be based on the Top 5 tournaments attended
- Playing in more tournaments will result in more opportunity to score higher point totals
- Minor adjustment to point counting to fix potential "gaps" between points

Organizers will receive a maximum of 2 bonus points per year
- Organizers are required to organize large events or multiple smaller events to obtain the full 2 points
- Points are earned based on total tournament attendees, as follows:
- 0-9 total tournament attendees (0 points)
- 10-29 total tournament attendees (1 point)
- 30+ total tournament attendees (2 points)

Achivements are their own rankings and do not count towards the main rankings

Attendance:
- Attend 3 tournaments (1 point)
- Attend 6 tournaments (1 point)
- Participate in a tournament with +30 attendees (1 point)

Organizer:
- 0-9 total tournament attendees (1 points)
- 10-29 total tournament attendees (1 point)
- 30+ total tournament attendees (1 point)

Race Diversity:
- Play in tournaments with at least 3 different races (1 point)
- Play in tournaments with at least 6 different races (1 point)
- Play 3 tournaments as Stunty (1 point)

The list seems a little north of the border heavy, do we need a south of the border division? I am hoping to hit the big one in Canada but a bit far to drive the rest of the time...

There are a number of american tournaments that go on through the year that just haven't been posted yet.

Based on last year's numbers, there were six American tournaments and 19 Canadian ones. So, your assessment of being North-heavy is somewhat correct. Although, that is not by design, but rather based on the amount of individuals that organize tournaments.

A number of more "recent" Canadian tournaments were taken over from previously American ones because the organizer was unable to continue running it.

Anyways, with state are you from? You're always welcome up in Canada Smile.

West Virginia, but on Ohio border, So just outside your region technically, but due to presence of Mountains easier to head to GLAM events in Ohio and north than BEAST on the other side on average. out of interest what are your criteria for including events?

It just has to be within the geographical region and be a standard non variant BB tournament. And you've gotta let me know so I can track the results etc.
