Maybe I am reading too much into the text, but the way I read the rule makes me believe that a Frenzied Player can't GFI to throw the second block.

Can we get a clarification? (Or at least point out where/how I am being stupid.)

Rob, I think you have to go for it if you can to keep throwing blocks.

Not sure what you are reading that would make you think otherwise.

The way the rule is written, it seems to be saying that on a Blitz you can't GFI to throw additional blocks.

"...If the frenzied player is performing a Blitz Action then he must pay a square of Movement and must take the second block unless he has no further normal movement and can not go for it again."
Page 26, last paragraph of the Frenzy skill description.

Again, I may be reading it too closely, but is this saying that on the Blitz, the frenzied player can only use his normal MA and no "stealing of squares" to throw blocks?

EDIT: In LRB 4, you had to follow-up on the 1st block, but were not forced to GFI for secondary blocks.

Rob,

I brought up the same point on the TBB forums.

What it is doing is preventing players from doing the tribal frenzy dance before blitzing so they could make one safe hit. (Yes, some unscrupulous players would move back and forth so they would only have to hit once!)

Now you have to hit twice, even if it means using a GFI to do so! So the answer to your original question is "no" - they must use the second GFI to hit if they still can.

As for your second question as to how you are stupid, I will leave that one for another thread. It would take too long to get into! Smile

Wait to me the rule is written to state the opposite...it seems to say that the frenzied player CAN'T go for it. I'm confused.

No it says if "if you cannot go for it" not "the player cannot go for it". Big difference. So basically it is asking "did you already Go For It twice" ... if you did than you do not have to throw the 2nd block ... if you have only GFI'd once than you have to roll for the GFI and try to throw the 2nd block since "you can go for it"

Someone printed out the rulebook for me, but my copy does not read "if you can not go for it." Was that a typo in a previous version...perhaps they did not print the final final version.

Thanks for the clarification.

Must do A and B (A=pay another movement B=block again). No choice, must to Both A and B.

Unless he X and Y (X=has no further movement, Y=Can not go for it again). This only kicks in if both X and Y are true statements.

If he has furter normal movement then it doesn't matter if he can or can't go for it again, as this invalidates that exception..therefore he must A&B.

If he can go for it again, then it doesn't matter if he has further normal movement as this invalidates the exception..therfore he must A&B.

In fact, the only way X and Y can be true is if someone is out of normal movement, but has gone for it 2 times already (3 times if you have sprint and choose to use it)

Ok...it makes sense when you put it that way.

EDIT: It may have been clearer if it read:

...unless the player has already expended all movement. (Including all cumpulsory squares stolen via GFI.)

or

Any Frenzied Player that uses a Blitz Action MUST exhaust any/all movement in order to throw two blocks at his target(s).

No Thanks!!! The Helmet has already changed hands! Smile

Seriously though...I would never want that job...it's all yours Tom. Smile
I was just saying IMHO what would have been a clearer way of describing the way the skill works. (For me anyway...apparently other people are getting it so... Smile)
