OK. I have added this tourney to the Tournaments page and am awaiting official NAF sanctioning.

I m still getting details from GW, but so far the tourney is definitely a go. GW has requested that we make this a free tourney so the only charge will be the $10 entrance fee to get into the GT.

This will be a two day, 5 round swiss tourney. LRB rules with a couple minor exceptions and homebrew d66 kick-off table. Over the next couple of days I will compile a rules booklet for all to peruse.

There will be prizes for top 2 finishers as well as Best Painted, Best Sporstman, Most TDs and Most Brutal.

So, who thinks they ll be able to make it? I should be able to bring hopefully between 6-10 from the Harrisburg area.

PS. Could a mod please sticky this post? Thanks!

I have compiled a rulebook (mostly pilfered from melifaxis). Please peruse and let me know what you guys think. It s not in stone yet (once I start taking sign--ups I ll freeze the document).

Rulebook is here
D66 Kickoff table is here

Have a look see at both. I m open to suggestions.

Post subject: Cancelation
Word on the street is that GW is canceling Conflict Baltimore. So we ve lost the venue. Kinda sucks.

What we are presently planning on doing is moving the tourney 80 miles north to Harrisburg. It would be nice to keep it in Baltimore but I think it s too late to realistically try to find a venue etc (and I d probably need to drastically increase the entry fee to pay for it).

So we can play at The Adventurer's Guild in Harrisburg for free (I m part owner of the store). My question is: who would still be willing to come? I d keep the entrance fee to $10 and we could offer a free shuttle service from Harrisburg Airport.

What say you all? For Philly people the drive should actually be shorter. Are MD/VA people willing to make the trip up?

I know that you can't change the date to suit one person, but since there is a change in venue...I thought I'd ask.

Is there any way that we could make this tourney one weekend sooner? I have to work the 20th-21st, but could make it the weekend before. (Just thought I'd take a shot.)

Great! I ll dig up hotel info and what not for the Hbg area (it s a ton cheaper than Balt... typically in the $60 a night range and no thrice accursed city tax fees and other added BS charges).

Not my fault! GW picked the date. I just got handed it.

There s quite a few miles between... shouldn t be hurting each other too much.

To out of towners traveling to The Adventurer's Guild I will point out that the store is on the side of the building we occupy and is difficult to see from the road. We share the building with a Subway and Kim's Karate so look for them and we ll be on the side behind Kim's (affectionately referred to as The Ninjas).

Ouch man!

I am hoping you took the 'flings! Smile

Yep...The Sufferin' Succotash made their first appearance at the "Bashin NOT By The Bay"

I was encouraged by the 'Flings debut performance, and was actually more competitive than I expected to be. In fact, I only took home the Wooden Spoon because a couple of folks dropped by the wayside on day two.

I had a win and a tie, and was a couple of rolls away from being .500 at the tourney. The 'Flings might make it to Toronto after all. Smile

I completely agree with Ken...The Adventurer's Guild (and coffee shop) is Blood Bowl Utopia. Smile

My local league, with the exception of Jaylazer and a couple of other guys, is so brutal...I may actually might start commuting to Harrisburg from Philadelphia to play in a real league.

Great Tourney...Great Spot overall...

(Okay...I'l stop gushing now.)

Thanks guys! Glad everyone seemed to have a good time.

The tourney results have been submitted. 8 of 14 participants were NAF members so there were 11 results reported. It would have been cool to have a NAF official present to give insta-memberships... but alas... perhaps next time as the AGBBL gains some prestige.

And I will second KarlLagerbottom Wooden Spoon excuse. One of the two players who dropped out (both had legitimate excuses outside their poor records) probably woulda claimed the Spoon had they stuck around for the second day.

I hope to have the pics up later today. I ll post when that happens.

Uh-Oh...there go my NAF points. Smile

Bampf-

Are either Stoner or SHONUFF! NAF coaches?

-Rob
bampf - Nov 22, 2004 - 12:04 PM
Post subject:
SHONUFF is. Stoner is not (yet). So your win counts toward your rating but the tie does not. Rob (sqatront) and Jamie (ForceCommander) are members so you ll be 1-2 for the tourney by NAF standards. Respectible for the flings.

Well my ranking with Humans after two tournies is in the 141-142 range, so it's not like I'm worried about my elevated standings being impacted. Smile

Thanks though for the info.

Thanks again. -Rob

EDIT: I just checked for the heck of it and see that my rating is 146 with the 'Flings. The really impresive part there is that the Tourney just ended YESTERDAY!!!

Even more Kudos to Bampf as a TO...he got that "button" pushed pretty darn quick.
