Is anyone interested in a NON-NAF tournament run on Wednesday 26th January (since it's a public holiday)?

I know it's close to CanCon. I know I'll be Blood-Bowled out from running CanCon - but I' still keen to run something close to my place if there's interest.

Maybe Renee and Jayne (my wife) can do something after Jayne gets hoe from work (no rest for the wicked or nurses on shift work). Jayne finishes work at 1pm.

I might come, but I'll need to change my flights already booked for Cancon and I don't want to change them twice. Let me know if you get at least half a dozen certainties and we'll probably supply two more.

How many rounds will be played. The single game I played took 90 minutes, but the other coach took a while to think.

We're definately having it.

It will run using the same 7's rules I used to play Michael when I was visiting.

Can you just remind me (and all the others who weren't there) -

Is it
650k for the team,
at least 7 players,
all position player numbers halved (rounding up for Big Guys?)
no SPPs awarded,
two on the LOS,

Is it the same team for each round or can we gain skills?
(I need kick against those Dwarfs you mentioned Twisted Evil )

normal progression, normal winnings etc. (and as your TR begins at 65 it's a nice little earner). SPP's as normal.

Positions are rounded DOWN.

Maximum 10 on the roster.

Other than that you have the rules pretty much right

You can see more on my old website at www.geocities.com/blood-bowl

We ran a little 3 round sevens tournament yesterday. Great fun.

To make the progression fair over the 3 rounds we made a couple of house rules.
At the end of each round the commisioner rolled one D6 and all teams used that roll for their Match Winnings roll.
Similarly all teams used the same set of three 2D6 rolls for player upgrades, working down their team sheet for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd upgrades on the list (if they had that many). Everyone appreciated the system when the first upgrade was 6/6 Evil or Very Mad and the next was a 2/2 Rolling Eyes

The best teams were Dwarf and Skaven. Confused

Told you those dwarves were tough!

Sounds like the common upgrades was a rather funny affair, with extra strength and then doubles!

Do you and Michael need accomodation on the Coast? We can do that for you if you are prepared to share a room.

And in case you didn't get it, rounding down means no Big Guys except for the little 'uns.

I should have mentioned another house rule that made the games more even for such a short series. All casualties were Badly Hurt, so that no coach benefited from his opponent being wiped out in the previous game. The main teams to benefit from casualties not being carried forward were Humans and Dwarfs. Confused

Having the same upgrades for all teams worked well, except for the Norse team that had the strength upgrade on the thrower. The coach is not very experienced and decided the thrower needed Sure Hands. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I'll e-mail you in a few days about the attending the event.

Ok, there's definitely two of us coming all the way from Tasmania for this event. We are treating this as the first annual Southern Hemisphere BB7s championship. Laughing

Babs will your house hold 40 coaches if everyone from Cancon turns up? Rolling Eyes

Extraordinarily unlikely. The house will hold 12 coaches - which is about how many are likely to be there.
