Rules Questions - Ageing

In the Living Rule Book it says that after a Star Player roll one must throw another pair of D6 and then add these scores together. Then you have to consult the 'Ageing column' on page 40.

My question is: Where is this column? Does anyone else have a problem with this rule or is it just me having a bad day and not understanding the rule? Smile

I would appreciate an explanation.

Many people have a problem with the rule, but not necessarily the way you're meaning methinks Smile

Isn't that the column AFTER you have thrown twice to see IF you age?

Ah - okay. pp40 the Star Player Points Table has an Ageing Column. That gives the target number to avoid ageing (3+ on a first skill etc).

Then pp41 gives the Ageing table which you roll on if you've failed the ageing roll.

Ahh now I see it *duh!* Smile So I roll, for an example, 6 for a skill. Then I have to throw another 2D6 which, let us say, results with another 6. Then I add the 6's together so I get a 12: meaning I don't age (be it the first skill).

Not really RawMessiah.

Those two rolls are separate. You rolled 4-2 for your skill: great! A regular skill.

Then you rolled 3-3 on your ageing roll: since it's your first skill, you're OK on a 3+ roll. So no ageing for you this time. Would you have rolled a double 1, then you would have rolled on the ageing reesult table.

Hope it's clear!

After your explanation I read the rulez again and now it makes a lot more sense, I just thought (first) that you add the TWO 2D6 rolls together, but I had gotten it wrong.

Thankx for helping me SBG (and the rest of you too!).
