Does anyone out there allow teams to hire assassins for X GP's in their league?

I got hit by one on a handicap roll while playing a team in my league and thought it would be an interesting freebooter to add in stead of just as a random handicap option.

What do you think would be a fair price for a hired gun?

I believe they used to be freebooters back in the 2nd ed. days.

Looks pretty even. Thanks for voting. I'll put it up for a vote in our league and see what the teams have to say. It looks like the mean is about 60k for a cost thus far so we'll use that as a baseline. I also found some more complex rules for assassins on Galak's site.

There's a reason Assasin is a handicap roll and not an in-game rule.

Assasins, as a handicap, are supposed to be something that could even up the odds of the match. If you can hire assasins as freebooters, the teams that purchase them will be the ones who have money to spare. Teams with cash to spare already have Star Players and Wizards at their disposal. Now they get to spend their big advantage towards another leg up on their lower TR opponents?

I don't think this is a very promising idea.
