Rules Questions - Blocking your own players

Post subject: Blocking your own players
Hi everybody,

Is it allowed to block/blitz/foul your own players??

I'd say no, because it might be used to shove players into the right position for a block, so you can use your blitz otherwise. On the other hand I don't recall reading it isn't allowed.

Thanks in advance,

m@hobbit.

Nope, page 10 in the LRB says:
"Instead of moving, a player may throw a block at an OPPOSING player who is in a adjacent square" Smile

Cheers

Our house rules allow it.

i dont think it is a good thing to allow that.
i used to heard about oneturner in DE team or dwarves! because or that with Frenzy! And nobody want to see that.
That is not a good thing IMHO.

Ah, an underhanded use... Frenzy. Our guys have never done that... when we hit our own players, it's because they deserve it!

Simple fix. Just make a rule stating that if you hit your own player and score a knockdown, you must take it over a pushback.

We used too allow it until we had a 10-8 skaven-wood elf game.

We quickly realised it was being abbused and it was ruining games!

The two skaven teams in my old league managed a 9-9 once. And we've never allowed coaches to throw blocks between their own players.

I've had a few tied overtime games in our league...doesn't happen often but it does happen. We have the teams play a sudden death overtime period if they are tied...and they keep the tie if no one scores.

But nothing is better than seeing Woodies and Rats score on each other while beating each other senseless...

There was no extra time played in that league. They just had 2 score-in-a-turn gutter runners, each, and very good throwers. Makes you sick.
I've also seen about 5 or 6 8-something small victories for Wood Elves in the last 2 seasons of my current league.

We've had some high scores in our league as well, but we now have a rule in place to curve some of those things (previously it was interpreted that if you had less than 3 players that could line-up it was an auto-TD for the opponent, since less than 3 players on the LoS was considered an illegal set up). We now have rules for "whipped" teams so the score isn't out of hand.

BUT I have seen Skaven and Woodelves run up the score very quickly with straight players, kickoff results, and cards.
