Post subject: More Vampire Questions

Here's another one that came up -

A Vampire that failed his bloodlust roll runs towards an opponent and a thrall. The player wants to Hypnotic Gaze the opponent, then bite the thrall...

I was under the impression that Hypnotic Gaze ends that Vamp's move - and if you end your move without biting, you get sent off?

Is that correct?

No, Hypno Gaze is at the end of the move action, but is still part of the Move action.
The Bite is made after the vamp finishes his action.

So despite his bloodlust he can over come it just long enough just to stare into someones eyes .....

Unless I missed something, are you saying he can use hyponotic gaze just before he quenches his thirst on a thrall?

No, because they are a Pass Action, and a Hand-Off action.
A Vamp can only gaze at the end of a Move Action.

there you go:

"Hypnotic Gaze is something you do as part of you Move Action. However the use of Hypnotic Gaze finishes your Move Action. The trigger for Blood Lust checking to see who is adjacent is the Move Action finishing. So you could always use Hypnotic Gaze when a Vampire fails a Blood Lust roll. If no Thralls are next to him after he uses the skill, then the Vampire would leave the pitch and it would be a turnover. If there is a Thrall, then after using Gaze he would bite the Thrall. "

I'm sure a thrall would stand wherever the Vampire told him to.
