Arisia has finally confirmed that we will have the space to run the ArisiaBowl on the Sunday of the convention again this year. Arisia is a science fiction convetion running Friday-Monday over the Martin Luther King weekend. There's a 24-hour gaming room. I'll be running open Blood Bowl gaming on Friday and Saturday, plus pick-up games can be arranged at any time.

Once again this will be a Grand Minors Tournament. 7s rosters, pick a home pitch type of your choice: Beach, Oz Sevens (regular), Sevens, or Street. Everyone who played last year loved the format. Download the tourney rules from the website:
http://www.geocities.com/arisiabowl/
Scroll down the main page a bit for the rules link.
You can also sign up for the tourney there too.
Click the Photos page to see the astounding legacy trophy!

Registration for Arisia itself is separate from registering for the tourney. Con registration includes access to all con functions, including the Con Suite with free snacks and drinks 24 hours. There is no additional cost for the tourney.

Register with Arisia by 30 September for $40. $50 by 31 December, $60 after. Student discount available. Sunday only, at the door, $30. (Oh, and last year we had over $400 in prizes to give away.... I haven't started rounding up prize support yet, but I expect our local retailers will come through again Very Happy )

Congratulations Melifaxis, the other undefeated coach. The Valholl Swanmaidens, Norse, went 2/0/2 to earn their name on the legacy trophy.

The results have been entered. Just waiting for the magic button to be pushed.

Sadly, I was only able to enter 5 out of the 16 matches. In previous years, Melifaxis has had a supply of NAF dice on hand, and we always had 100% NAF sign-up, since the new members could get their dice right on the spot. This year, 3 out of our 8 players were not NAF and did not join becasue we could not tempt them with dice since he has not been able to restock our local supply. And so, 11 out of the 16 games are not to be included. Crying or Very sad

Tie game for the championship vs. Shane's Humans that went into OT. I was badly outnumbered and lost the OT kick-off, so it seemed like a certain doom. But I finally made my comeback on casualties vs. Shane's Humans and got possession of the ball right near my endzone as he was about to score. With 2 turns left, ran up and handed off the ball to Svipul
the Snowtroll who caught it, but then had to make a WIld Animal roll to Blitz and 2 Go For Its on both turns to score. No rerolls left. 50% chance to catch the hand-off and then 6 rolls for anything but a 1. The very last GFI into the endzone failed at the end the OT round. Down to the bonus kick to decide the game, and we won that dice-off to squeek out the championship.
