Rules Questions - Death Roller

In previous edition when you hit the deathroll over or it fell over failing a go for it roll the model was removed from the pitch as a casualty for the rest of the game and you were not allowed to roll to see if the secret weapon could be used for the rest of the game.

As such there is no reference to any special rules for the deathroller being knocked over in this edition of the rules except for the fact its a secret weapon, is this to counter balance the facy that they reduced its effectiveness (i.e removed multiple block) and also made it so that it automatically gets sent off after one drive? Would seem silly to pay 160k for a player that gets sent off after one drive any way and also if it falls over gets removed from the play.

thanks for the help guys - sorry bout all the questions it's just that the last time any of us played was 3rd edition - and we're currently running a league using lrb5.0

The death roller stays on the field until:
the drive ends
it is KOed/CAS
Caught fouling

you DO get spp for CAS that you cause (other than foul), it is str 7 AV10, so it might just be worth the 160K in League play as dwarfs can control the ball for 6-8 turns and he runs around causing havoc. (Jugernaught counts as block skill on both down with the blitz so blitz the hell out of this guy)
He can demolish a cage
He can use normal team re-rolls

Bah!
Do the others teams have not more and more Big Guys who will not be sent off after a dive?
Using a Death Roller if you don't have the ball for this dive is useless...
I think too this cost is too expensive for a secret weapon...

An other question:

Do the Death Roller have a +6 bonus for agression like in V3 or just a simple +1 on Ar like supposed in V5...?

There are no special rules for any of the secret weapons any more - just the skill descriptions. Deathroller starts with mighty blow, so just the +1/+1

Ok, So just an other question:

is the death roller a player or a secret weapon only?

If he is a player he could win xp, dy and use a medic...
If he is a secret weapon only, he just have to be repaired betwenn 2 games and so he won't earn xp or dy...

I didn't find any clear rules about this anywhere...HELP!!!

He is a player with the skill "Secret Weapon".

All this stuff has been made simpler than the orginal version in 3rd ed.

All special rules for any player are in the skills section of the book.

So you can use the medic on him, he can gain xp and he can die.
He also gets sent off a lot too Smile

Everyone is a player. Secret Weapon is just a skill that automatically gets you sent off at the end of the drive.

Death rollers get SPPs and suffer injuries just like any other player does. They can use apoths too.
