Yes, its the last weekend for it. If you seriously plan on bringing them, book a hotel soon. the ones downtown disappear pretty fast, but everything happens with afew blocks of the core, so its worth it.

Question: Could the halflings get two treemen plus Deeproot, or does Deeproot replace one of the treemen? Also, what if two halfling teams meet on the field and both have Deeproot?

You will BOW DOWN!!! and play 2nd fiddle to me once again !!

Yes, halfling teams can have both treeman and Deeproot. If two halflings play each other with Deeproot, then one is likely his brother Thicktruck (they look alot alike).

whateva!

I would like to mention that our NAF ranked games are 2 ties buddy!
And you robbed me in both of those Casino boy!

p.s. Don't knock the CHART, goblins need all the help they can get, and it helped
see record for proof http://www.bloodbowl.net/index.php?module=NAF&type=tournamentinfo&uid=7653

p.p.s. Rod, i checked the rules, nothing about not being allowed to throw team mate at a square with a player in it. In fact no mention of targeting restrictions at all. Thought it sounded fishy!

They seem to have changed a lot of the rules from what they were before. That most certainly WAS a rule in the past. This is what happens when you play too long, you get different editions mixed up!

JTB is correct.

      Quote:
From Passing: The player can throw the ball to another player in
his own team (or another player in the opposing team if he really
wants to
), or simply to an empty square, though obviously the
first of these options will be the most useful ???

      Quote:
From Throw Teammate: . . . The pass is worked out exactly the same as the player with Throw Team-Mate passing a ball, except the player must subtract 1 from the D6 roll when he passes the player,

So, yes you can target opponents.

Hey Joe, just because they aren't NAF ranked games doesn't mean they didn't happen. If I remember correctly 2 of the losses were against your "mighty" Orc teams as well...and I wasn't knocking the chart but the fact that you needed the chart to begin with to even compete. Weren't you a tournament organiser for that tourney as well...bad form if I do say so myself...Wink LOL

It will happen someday Joe, that I lose a game to you...BUT THAT DAY ISN'T TODAY!!!!!!

hahaha of course that day isn't today, I am not playing today Laughing Laughing

no no, you beat my Orc's with your high elves once in overtime in the semi final of the Dominion bowl play offs. The other tie is vs the orcs in the league stage. The other win was versus my pro elves with your Dwarves in our last LRB4 open league.

A feature of those games was you getting lots of 4+ KO recovery rolls with your elves, and me not getting any 2+ ball related rolls with my elves Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

It is funny the way these things seem to go around. My bad dice seem to like to group together in specific games. And my good dice appear to arrive en-mass against opponents whose bad dice show up, I would be thinking of you Eric yes.

That's a good point though, I will start a running tally just to get an idea (also so my wife has an idea of how much food to make).

Just to make a point: Ben has not distributed the dice to Joe or I for whatever reason (personal or NAF) so please do not shoot the messengers. Not to mention he is also hard to get a response from, so Joe & I are even having a hard time bringing the issue up with him.

Post subject: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Dagger Bowl II - February 21, 2009
If it comes off like that Eric, I doubt that was the intention. More of an inquiry than anything I would think. They were available through you at Deathbowl so people probably think that is still the case. That is also when Ben was a little more accessible as well though. I also got mine through Lycos as Ben was MIA, only took a few weeks. That may be your best option Marc-Andre. Just PM him and give him your info, he is usually very helpful with these sort of things. That is of course if no one is able to contact the mystery man Ben lol.

Okay, i'll post this here as we are talking about it here.

The hosting stuff for the NAF site broke recently. and we are mid big long term upgrade.

There was an unfortunate disconnect of the paypal:NAF site for about 4 weeks. So when people who paid up they got reciepts but the NAF did not.

This problem is ok now, but people who fell through the cracks may still be invisible.
There is a thread for this in the comments section about packages so that is likely the best place to post.

This is not specifically anyone's fault right now.
Just to be clear.

Hope that helps understanding..........

Ok. The President does make a point of trawling throught the threads as best he can and clearly something is amiss in Canada.

Joe/Eric..... I need to get you guys some dice and we can do that by email and getting it moving within days.

For those who have a complaint, the fault is mine. I have to acknowledge and accept that as President its my job to make sure I have the right people in the right place at the right time. I am sure we can work through it and sort it out.

I don't think anyone would question the job you have been doing Lycos. I personally thought you responded extremely quickly when I had my issue with membership renewal.

I think the problem more lies with the fact that Ben is (by choice or not) no longer able to fulfill his role, but everyone has been holding their breath thinking Ben will reappear and take back the role that was his, so we keep trying to keep him in the loop which slows things down since he obviously no longer has any incentive to maintain his role at the moment.

Well is the tourney on a Saturday or a Sunday?

I work afternoons so if on a Saturday, I'd not be able to leave the Falls until Friday night around midnight. Sunday would suit me better, but I'm sure its not Sunday. So unless someone is willing to pick me up Friday night at midnightish, I'll not be able to attend.

Shame , as last year was a blast, Mark you put on a great tourney last year, very well organised!

I'll miss the FIFA action, (my goalie watching the ball roll past him for the score, or me giving Joe a Penalty Shot only to save it , but then fouling him in the same play to give him a 2nd chance)

If I can not make it, I'll challenge the champion of this year with my Skaven from last year! If I do make it I'll look forward to repeating my Victory as the Dagger Bowl Champ, as I did in the 1st. Dagger Bowl!

Anyone attending from Southern ON that does not mind travling in the midnight hours? (will pay your gas there & back)....

Sorry Clan_Skaven, the tourneys on Saturday. Sunday would be to difficult. Too bad you couldn't make it, guess we will have to have a match with the interim champion to decide the overall champion.

Thanks man, I had never run one before and I had fun, I can see why people don't mind watching their own tourneys. I always thought it would be boring, but it wasn't.

The FIFA matches were hilarious, both on Friday night and Saturday. Although I think the Friday one we could have skipped. 5am is a little late when people were showing up at my house at 9am. I still don't remember the first part of the day.

Hey all,

Some good and bad news here. Good news first, I saw the Neuro-Surgeon today and I do not require surgery on my back. Thank god.

Bad news, my rehabilitation will most likely take more than 6 months so I am out of commission for out of town tournaments as It's even harder for me to get around right now than it was at the CCKO.

With any luck I'll be able to start travelling by July or September for the Lakeside or Niagaroth but even these is still slim.

Best of luck to all of you coaches going to the Dagger and SweetBun.

Dan, don't worry about missing tourneys. Just get better. Risking further damage to your back is not worth it, just concentrate on the rehab and we will see you at a tourney later this year. Good luck.

Hey Leathan glad to hear you and your dad will be coming, hope we get a chance to play again. The 1-0 defeat didn't sit to well with me last time...hope to get some revenge for that!!! Taxal and Pat are coming as well so that should make for 4 to 5 people from out of town, plus the locals should make for a decent turnout Mark, with only six last year we had a good time so should make it even better this time around.

Rod, hope you were able to find a ride man, although I think Eric would be the only one likely to be able to pull that off with the driving....and he seems to be rather busy lately.

Dan, really glad to hear you don't need surgery man. I know how bad back issues can get, threw mine out when I was 19 and there isn't a day that goes by that it doesn't affect me in some way. Good luck with your rehab, it seems lengthy now but with surgery may have been a couple years to recover fully. Hope to see you later in the year unless you can make it to Canadian Open or Quermitt, in which case I will see you then. Take it easy and best of luck with everything.

I would just bring the wife along for the ride and take a break once we get down to Niagara before coming back. If you really want to attend that could be an option for you. I don't know if your buddy Brian is still around, that you came to Bongo with last year either. Only people I could think of that would be driving from down there would be Eric, Talons, or Brian. Otherwise, let me know what you want to do bro. talk to you later,

Adam

Can't wait for tomorrow either. I really wish I could jump in a time machine and wake-up tomorrow morning.

Taxal, I'm expecting us to play each-other at some point. Gonna cut myself some trees to make wood to cook those plumpy 'Flings over. Smoked 'Flings. Hmmmm.

Also can't wait for tomorrow, should be awesome. Hey Joe, as far as stress free activities I don't know but fun nonetheless.
Is there any gaming activities going on Saturday night after the tourney still?

Clan Skaven, offer still stands if you do want to attend and can at least get down here? I don't mind at all, just need to know your plans.

Take it easy all and see you tomorrow.

Hey Spazz, it is over. As always was good but stressful times in Bloodbowl lore. As it turns out there are probably some unexpected results. Don't know the exact order but can give you a general idea....

1st Place- Mike Olsen (Slann) also won Most TD's and Least TD's Allowed
2nd Place- Colin K (Chaos Dwarf) also won Most Cas, and Least Cas Against
3rd Place- Joe Byers (Human) Not sure but I think this is correct placing
4th Place- Leathan K (Norse)
5th Place- Marc-Andre (Goblins)
6th-7th - Patrick G (Dwarf)/Adam J (Skaven) not sure of order
8th-10th- Mark D (Norse)/Dan C (Halfling)/Ryan (Underworld) not sure of order

Tournament was really cool as it came down to the last game to determine an outright winner, many people could have placed top 3 depending on the last game.

Thank you to Mark and his wife had an awesome time and hope to see some of you out for Canadian Open/Quermitt soon,

Take Care,

Adam

That is frikkin' hilarious! From the Spoon boy last month to the tourney winner the next! Using the same team no less! And if I recall didn't he score like '0' TDs at the CCKO?

Well done to him! Very Happy

Not only that but Colin finally beat Leathan in the standings! What a crazy tourney!

Woe to anyone who placed lower than Dan's halflings!

Thanks to all for coming out and making Daggerbowl II a success (atleast in my opinion). Jrock56 listed the standings correctly, and a huge congrats goes out to Eggball for the surprise turn-around from whipping boy to tournament champion with the same team. Also for the final win against rug-thug to ensure his own championship and knock rug-thug from the podium, all in one game. Congrats to Colin for being the most violent and durable team in the tourney, especially for the 8 CAS thrashing he inflicted on Taxals poor halflings in the second game. ;P

All in all, the final round of games were the clear TSN turning-point for alot of coaches, some good and some bad. Which resulted in a large amount of movement in the final standings.

And a HUGE congrats to Taxal's halfling team, "Mighty Sweetbuns" for scoring a running, passing and tossing-halfling TD in the final game to solidify their name in the halls of Halfling history as one of the greatest games by a Halfling team. Unfortunately, it came at the cost of Rando's Underworld "Detrivitore Lions", who discovered how much Skaven and Golbins do not like playing each other, and how hard it is to create offence when none of your team wants to play together. I lost count of how many Animosity rolls he failed in a row, and that was the high point of his game. Who knows, maybe next tourney Rando will win it all with the same team, and this will be a new trend. Only time will tell.

Anyways, hope to see everyone sonn, and get ready for Daggerbowl III, May 2, 2009.

Thanks go to Mark and his wife for leting us play a Blood Bowl tournament in their house. Also thank you to my four opponents for once again making it fun and enjoyable to play this great game.
Will say that I am quite happy to say that I made Joe earn that win over me and making him think during the game and not making it easy on him. Actually if it was not for one failed Fling toss I think that it would have been a 2-1 win for me. DAMN DICE!!!!!!!

See you all soon

I agree with all these comments!

I have never been so scared playing against halflings.
I just couldn't see the forrest for the trees in the middle of the field Laughing

I had 4 great games, all of them were close run affairs. With storylines enough for 2 games each. Particularly the crazy game against the Slann, and the Collin's Chaos Dwarves, damn that riot!

I must also mention myu final opponent, Pat, he had the worst twothree turns of luck I have seen. What had been a really close first half with me barely stopping his dwarf's scoring. Turned into a cake walk as his dwarves fell in the snow, got stunned enmass by a pitch invasion and then proceeded to knock themselves down blocking, allowing me to bag two TDs in the space of 4 turns. I feel for you buddy!

Cheers guys, until next time!
