Rules Questions - Raise the treemen?

Post subject: Raise the treemen?
If a treemen is on the ground and wants to get on his feet/roots but fail the "go for it" roll, will that cause a turnover and armourroll? Or is it just a failure for him and no turnover?

A treeman does not have to Go For It to stand. He has to roll a 4+ roll to stand which uses all of his MA to do. Failure is not a turnover (it says so in the rules for Standing Up in the rulebook).

So if a Treeman wants to stand the order is:

1) Roll Take Root (no matter pass or fail ... continue ... but if he rolled a one he is Rooted (even if still prone)
2) Roll 4+ to stand up (if he fails he is still Prone ... if he succeeds he stands).

1. but he is only rooted if he manages to stand

if he failed take root but fails to stand.. but then passes take root and does stand the next turn.. he's not rooted is he?

He will be rooted even in that case. The rules explicitly tell you when "Take Root" ends. "Standing up" is not one of these things.

You only stop being Rooted if you are Knocked Down. Failing to Stand up does not make you Knocked Down. As a result .. failure to stand up would not cancel out a failed Take Root roll. Which means you are Rooted and the next turn ... all you would be doing is rolling to stand up ... you would not be making the Rooted roll anymore.

Ok, somthing turned up. If a treemen have 3 in movement (rolled a 4+6 on skill sellection) can he use all his movement just standing up then as a ragular player or do he have to make that 4+ roll anyway?

So does this mean that a treeman who gets +MA still has to roll the 4+ to stand?

No. If a player, any player, has 3+ MA, no roll is required. If the player's MA is less than 3, then a 4+ roll is required.

There is no special rule for Treemen.

Thanks Cramy,

Just asking because at the Deaethbowl there was the guy with the +MA treeman that caused me some considerable grief! I was wondering now whether it was legal! Truly, he was brilliant and not a cheater! Very Happy
