Looks doable for driving, and I am really keen on getting to a tourney in the States, but there are two factors working against my attending:
1) It is the week after my tourney
2) It is only a one day tourney
Not to mention the fact that Lagerbottom has probably given my mugshot to all the border guards in an effort to keep me our of your country! KarlLagerbottom - Jan 13, 2009 - 09:15 PM Post subject: RE: 4 Diamonds Cup II
Nah...I want you to come...I am actually tired of winning Spoons. ForceCommander - Feb 10, 2009 - 05:07 AM Post subject:

mmm, a 4 hour drive.. just about doable I think..Norse - Feb 22, 2009 - 06:43 AM Post subject:
Mrs Norse has said "hmmmmph!" which usually means "OK, but don't expect any nookie that month"..
so I'm about 90% likely to attend and about 100% likely to get stopped by the state troopers for speeding on the way.. KarlLagerbottom - Feb 22, 2009 - 08:13 PM Post subject:
This is good news...for fellow attendees...and to the State Troopers who have to make their monthly quota. ForceCommander - Feb 23, 2009 - 05:55 AM Post subject:
AWESOME!
The turnout for this year is really shaping up well.... at this rate we will have twice as many coaches as last year!

3 Weeks Nerds!
-RobO
Ok, well it's like 25 Days, so I guess "4 Weeks Nerds!" would be closer to the mark. Anyway, I am excited.ForceCommander - Apr 03, 2009 - 06:05 AM Post subject:
It's getting close!
Look at all the glittering loot! And, we aren't done yet! NAF and ZlurpeeBowl's own Xtreme, and Tritex Games have offered prize support as well!
It's MADNESS!

We had a great turnout and managed to raise over $1,000 for the 4 Diamonds Fund, a pediatric cancer charity.
I can't thank everyone who came enough for their amazing support, and be on the lookout for an even bigger and better tournament next year!

Now I just have to figure out a bigger and better special raffle prize for next year!Norse - Apr 30, 2009 - 10:03 AM Post subject:
make a few racial specific dugouts and then do a charity auction rather than a raffle.. you might find you raise more money (plus, it would probably be quicker than calling out hundreds of numbers when half the guys lost their raffle tickets...)
RForceCommander - May 01, 2009 - 06:30 AM Post subject:
I had thought about the charity auction, but I really wanted everyone to have a chance at the dugout rather than just the person with the deepest pockets.
Doing race specific dugouts is a sweet idea though, maybe do one standard raffle and one auction.
Maybe I'll do a poll to see what races dugouts would be most popular...

you could easily differentiate orcish, dwarvish, elven and have a lot of fun while doing it.. most guys coach one or more of those teams..
