Hi,
I'm the commissioner of a small league in the Boston area. I was wondering if I could get some feedback on a trophy idea. Idea

Hellfire Horn:
Tropy Re-roll
Hellfire Blast - 1/game the head coach (and only the head coach - so be careful arguing those calls) may blow the horn per the below.

1 - Random player on your squad has a blast of hellfire (use fireball rules) centered upon him/her
2 - The hellfire blast goes into the crowd - 1 in 6 chance of a field invasion
3-6 Choose target player to center hellfire blast (fireball) on

It's not as powerful as a free wizard as there is the potential for backfire and does not offer the versatility of choosing between Fireball, Zap, and Lightning bolt. Another option would be to make the crowd result 2-3.

The tournament prizes for leagues really need to be looked at again, since 2 out of the 4 of them probably need to be adjusted with the new rules. Our league lets the winner of the dungeonbowl freeboot wizards at 1/2 price, and the winner of the chaos cup gets a handicap in every game played.

I think that your Hellfire Horn might be a bit too good in terms of game effects, and I seem to remember that only the four major tournaments are supposed to give teams a trophy reroll. What kind of monetary prize would you give for this one?

For our league this would be the major trophy. We are actually keeping tournament play separate for now as we want the first season to run through before adding them into the mix (we have some new players that we want to get up to speed). As far as a monetary prize, I don't think I would add one as the Horn is already pretty valuable.

Here's what the HBBL franchise owners ratified as our League Championship Trophy in case anyone was curious.

The Hellfire Horn:
Tropy Re-roll

Hellfire Blast - 1/game at the beginning of YOUR turn (right after the turn counter has been moved but before ANY player has been moved) the head coach (and only the head coach - so be careful arguing those calls) may blow the Hellfire Horn.

1 - Random square on the pitch is hit by a blast of hellfire (use fireball rules)
2 - Random player on YOUR squad has a blast of hellfire (use fireball rules) centered upon him/her
3 - The hellfire blast goes into the crowd. Roll another d6. On a 6 there is a pitch invasion
4-6 Choose target player to center hellfire blast (fireball) on

The Horn can only be used in the regular season, as the league reclaims it dring the post season. Our league schedule is similar to American Football with single elimination brackets in the post-season.
