Rules Questions - LRB6.0 and the Official Rules

Post subject: LRB6.0 and the Official Rules
Hi,

I'm in the process of writing the rules for a tournment, and people keep asking about why we are not using LRB6.0, but I can't find an official version.

I can only find LRB5.0 and Rules review 2007 http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?community=&catId=cat410008&categoryId=1100014&aId=4800003 on the GW web site!

Is there an LRB6.0?

Or is it really just LRB5.0 with the Clarifications and Changes from the 2007 Rules review which people have put together themselves from the information provided.

Cheers Scott

What people are refering to when they say LRB6 is LRB5 plus the Rules Review from 2008 (or LRB5b as some of the BBRC have called it).
LRB6 isn't official, and won't be until the BBRC meet in October, at the earliest, and the rules in the 2008 review may or may not make the cut.

I'd post the link, but I haven't found it yet, but when I find the pos on TBB I'll copy it across.

Thanks Darkson,

A link to the Rules Review 2008 would be great... I'd not even heard there had been one!

Cheers Scott

PS You weren't at the GT 2004, where you beat the **** out of my Skaven in round 2? I seem to remember the psudename...

Possibly - I "lost" 3 results that year against non-NAF.

They are NOT official rules remember - they are experimental rules being play tested with a view to being made official. It is quite unlikely that 2008 review will pass through in its entirety.

Is that true? I thought I'd been told that they'd either be scrapped altogether because of GW's capriciousness, or go through in their entirety. The one exception being Khemri, which might revert to their previous list.

My league is really enjoying the changes and the new teams, be a shame if they didn't go through. I realize there's nothing to stop us from sticking with them.

Thanks for all the information.

As far as I can tell, there are 5 Clarifications to LRB5 in the 2007 Rules Review, everything else (the Changes, Additions and New Teams) are still "experimental".

I'll just keep the rules the same as last time then... I had been under the impression I'd missed something...

Thanks again for the input.

Cheers Scott

Each experimental rules gets a seperate final BBRC vote to be made part of the LRB 6.0. All four of us have to agree for it to make it into the LRB 6.0.

We already had a quick discussion and I think most (say 90%) of the items will pass. But there are a couple that will probably have some levels of debate that will approach unfriendly before the final vote is cast yeah or nay for them.

Is there a link that works for the LRB5b, all the ones I find are dead.

Jervis signed off on LRB 6.0 and gave me his approval to list what was in it. So assuming Jervis's superiors don't change something ...

LRB 6.0 =

Take this document:
http://www.midgardbb.com/LRB_PBBL/LRB_5_plus_Experimental2008.pdf

Make the following changes to it:
1) Flesh Golems on Necro back to LRB 5.0 110k
2) Master Chef for Flings back to LRB 5.0 100k
3) Deeproot to 300k
4) Morg to return to LRB 5.0 430k
5) Glart to 210k
6) Fezglitch to 100k
7) Eldril to 200k
8 - Zzharg to 90k
9) Dolfar to 150k
10) Crazy Igor to 120k
11) Bertha Bigfist to 290k
12) Pass Block:
A player with this skill is allowed to move up to three squares when the opposing coach announces that one of his players is going to pass the ball (but not a bomb). The opposing coach may not change his mind about passing once Pass Block's use is declared. The move is made out of sequence, after the range has been measured, but before any interception attempts have been made. A player may not make the move unless able to reach a legal destination and may not follow a route that would not allow them to reach a legal destination. A legal destination puts the player in a position to attempt an interception, an empty square that is the target of the pass, or with his tackle zone on the thrower or catcher. The player may not stop moving until he has reached a legal destination, has been held fast by Tentacles or has been Knocked Down. The special move is free, and in no way affects the player’s ability to move in a subsequent action. The move is made using all of the normal rules and skills (for example, having to dodge in order to leave opposing players’ tackle zones.) Players with Pass Block may use this skill against a Dump Off pass. If a player performing a Pass Block in their own turn is Knocked Down then this is a turnover, no other players may perform Pass Block moves, and your turn ends as soon as the results of the pass and the block are resolved.
13 - Special Play Card clarification: Once you have randomly drawn a card you may conceal the result until played but you may not exchange or trade it in for another card.
14 - Revised Riot wording:
Riot: The trash talk between two opposing players explodes and rapidly degenerates, involving the rest of the players. If the receiving team’s turn marker is on turn 7 for the half, both teams move their turn marker back one space as the referee resets the clock back to before the fight started. If the receiving team has not yet taken a turn this half the referee lets the clock run on during the fight and both teams’ turn markers are moved forward one space. Otherwise roll a D6. On a 1-3, both teams’ turn markers are moved forward one space. On a 4-6, both team’s turn markers are moved back one space.

Oh and modify some of the FAQs so that Dump Off and Pass Block work together.

Cool news Galak.

Any idea when this becomes the official download version at GW?
I am guessing not super soon. So The CCKO 2010 (Jan 30-31) will be LRB5.

Cheers

It is now available on GW site. Not the prettiest document, but it is the rules as per the BBRC so its a good thing in that respect

Is that what the "Competition Rules Pack" is?

The competition rules contains all the rules that are LRB6, except for the typo on the Rat Ogre price.

So there is a more complete document there that I didn't find?

In terms of the latest rules the Competition rules is it. However the competition rules doesn't contain the information on the templates etc which is needed to play the game, so it isn't "complete" in that regard.

So what's the correct price for Rat Ogres?

I must say the format is quite disapointing, it's as if they attempted to skin it down to the bone, no credits, no artwork. The last LRB at least looked like, well... a rulebook.

Rat Ogres should be 150k ... that error will be fixed in the BBCP in January.

Are the 3 experimental teams still NAF approved?

I haven't found a working link on the new website.

ArisiaBowl V is coming up on January 17 and I'm late getting the on-line details up, eek! (I started playing roller derby this year, and wow does training for a real life full contact sport take a lot of time!)

Cheers,
Mo
