OK sports fans, it's official - by far and away the best thing ever to use to clean minis is "Nitromors".
any Great Mills/B&Q/Wilkinson's etc own brand paintstripper does the job just as well and is considerably cheaper.
Just use Pinesol, works great.

The base is just plastic...Cut it off
Geez, 3 pages of posts, and no one has mentioned scotch or Jim Bean. I have no idea if it would work or not, but I'm really surprised it hasn't come up.
