Post subject: Mighty blow:- a poll.
Just wondering how Commissioners play the mighty blow rules?

You are missing what I'm guessing is the most common application. Declare MB after the armor or injury roll. That's actually how the LRB says all modifications can be done, at least until they change Piling On in October.

I think that most of the coaches on this board don't like PO, but I don't see any problem with it. The way I see it, it's like the player seeing the other player trying to move up right after he hit him. He then decides to go for a little elbow drop on the guy.

PO used wether or not it is needed is a huge disadvantage, IMHO.

But I'm moving away from the poll's topic. I'd like MB to stay as it is now stated in the LRB : you decide to use it when you need it.

Don't know how to vote. In the LRB, page 15, it says "...and you can choose to use a skill that affects a dice roll after rolling the dice."

Skummy has it right. As the rules stand you decide to use MB, like every other skill, after the dice are rolled.

PO is badly broken under these rules - you may not see it but try facing an Undead team with 2 piling on mummies.

Post subject: Ok so what would be the best way to resolve these issues?
Are there any plans to sort this out. I know basically Blood bowl is about killing the opposition but sometimes lack of clarity on skillls which kill players is usually what gets people upset.

Two questions then
i) Any new plans for changes to these rules would be interesting to know and
ii) Are there any ideas for interim measures?

Cheers for any info.

I believe PO will get changed in October. Until then BBRC members have recommended reverted to 3rd ed way (i.e. go prone before Av roll), which is probably the change they will make.

All 3 BBRC members I've seen comment on the PO issue have suggested that PO be houseruled back to the 3rd ed. If you're looking for a heads up on rules reviews and clarifications, I'd suggest reading a topic on it over at TBB http://www.talkbloodbowl.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5344

Galak's great at keeping his hot list up to date.
