In a league I often have problems which skills are on which player, and this set seems to be gold for that problem.

a guy in our league got them as is less than pleased. It is something and something is better than nothing

An idea I've toyed with (albeit slightly more work) is to paint a colored dot on the side of your mini's base to represent the skills they acquire as they progress. This of course means that you have to repaint the base clean when the mini dies or is retired...but like I said. The rubber bands are great. Saw them at Zlurpee VI (you gotta attend Zlurpee VII <shameless plug> ) first hand (played a guy that used them.) He had no problem with them at all. I did knock a few off, but I think that was my big clumsy hands.
I am not exactly cutting the base magnets down, we (our league) has not had a great experience with them
