I for one think they are great for league play and am proposing their adoption in the HBBL!

lol yeah but that doesn't mean we should get Archaon on the pitch!
I prefer the idea that it stays fantasy (i.e. not 40k, although I loved Speedball 2 Wink ) and doesn't need to keep up with the WFB world

It'd piss me off if I carefully constructed a good cage only to have it blasted by a wizard - I much prefer to counter good tactics with good tactics not a frickin' flamethrower Very Happy

Hang on, isn't the mark of a good coach is what he does when it all goes 'pear shaped'??

It is, but I prefer to think of it going pear shaped as a result of bad luck as opposed to an outdated game mechanic that was only introduced to maintain parity with WFB

Very Happy

lol that last sentence is sure to get a response

Nope - its an alternate reality - and that's from the horse's mouth (not that JJ is a horse or anything). So its officially a cyber-fantasy world not a pure fantasy one.

Hang on, haven't wizards always been an integral part of the game's world? Aren't they the ones responsible for Cabal vision broadcasts of the games to the (cyber) warhammer world? And need I mention necromancers?

I think wizards, as they currently are in the LRB, are just fine and have never seen any reason to mess with them.

They're expensive enough that we haven't seen one used yet in our league, but with the playoffs looming we may have our first few casters. Plus, you can always just house rule to prohibit them.
