I'm going to be running a little tourney between friends, and I want to make sure I've got all the rules down right, so here goes:
In the league I'm playing in, we roll on the kickoff chart, but if there is a result that allows for repositioning/movement (blitz, quik snap, perfect D) we scatter the ball then so that the player who gets to reposition gets to take into effect where the ball is going.
What I want to know is, is this the official way to do this, or a house rule that our league is using? I've looked up and down the living rulebook, and can't find anything to help me figure it out.

Procedure is as follows (IIRC)
1) Set up both teams
2) Roll kick off table.
3) Scatter ball
4) Resolve KO table result

place the ball on the pitch, roll on the Kick-Off table, scatter ball, fully resolve Kick-Off results, ball falls from the sky, catch/bounce ball or apply touchback as appropriate
