North America - Golden Sweetbun "V"

Taxal - Mar 03, 2013 - 08:32 PM
Post subject: Golden Sweetbun "V"
Pat and myself are in the early stages for this years Sweetbun. So far the only spped bump in the road is a location to hold it. All the halls that we have contacted has raised prices to sometimes stupid amounts. I do believe we will find one so its just a question of time for that.
It will be held on the weekend of May 25th and 26th. Looks like there will not be any changes to the rules, but once that is final I will post up the full rules here.
Also being the 5th Sweetbun we are hoping to be able to give away some swag and are working on getting some stores to help us out on this.

Dan (taxal)

I, for one, will not stand for a 5-time Stunty Shield Champion. Get ready to actually defend your title and not win it through default.

Had a quick look at last years rules. I seemed to remember having the HMC used against me (**cough** Dan **cough**) but it says no inducements?
So are halflings allowed the chef? If so shouldn't goblins be allowed bribes?

Yeah, they repeatedly forget to include that in the rules, but it is allowed.

Sorry about the rules not being updated.

Making up a new set of them for this year which will clean up all the crap from the past couple of years.

There is no inducements for anyone but the FLings. It is a Fling sponsored tournament and since it is in their lands they do not allow anything in the way of cheating.

Count me in, no matter what my situation, I will be there. And I will bring some Ottawa coaches with me.

A little detail called the Bute-Pascal Fight probably prevents me from being there.

That being said, I'll try hard to make it anyway, at least to say hi to everyone and talk about la Coupe des Quatre Nations!

Stay tuned!

Since She works the street, She is always considered Down the Street, I'm I correct the locals have referred to Her as the Street Meat Exclamation Question

So just over 1 week to go and was looking at what kind of numbers might be coming. I know Fred you might be coming down with a small group. Rob said he might be heading down the 401 with a small group. Locally there are a nice group coming. So if this holds we might get to the 16 - 20 range on coaches.

Nice!!!

Well it looks like it will be mostly locals at the Sweetbun. Mark H has had to drop out and with Adam J iffy on showing it looks like Mark D will not be able to come and defend the Stunty Shield. Have not heard from the group in the Toronto area if they will be coming or not. Quite interesting if we get around the 14-16 players showing and 12 are locals.
One week away from the fun.

I know your pain bud, I get more than locals but total number reached 16 once, but reast usually hovers around 12-14.

What is this 'iffy' talk? I'm about a 95% chance of coming, just waiting to hear if I can get the Sunday off from work otherwise getting back in time will be tight! Forget about defending the Stunty Shield!!! I would rather talk about defending my back to back Tourney Champion title Razz Trying to decide what race to bring this year...may change it up a little and play something I have never played before, we'll see. Depends on whether I have the time to build the roster this week Wink

Good chance both Daggers and myself will make it down though, are we good to crash at your place as usual Taxal?

So it is now a 100% chance of attending!!! although I don't know what time I'll be leaving exactly. Got confirmation that I will have the Sunday off so no worries there...but they scheduled a Manager's meeting on Friday now so I'm unsure of exactly when I'll get out of town.

Still mulling over the team to take, down to 3 possibilities but stunties aren't one of them fortunately for Dagger's Razz . 2 of the options are races I've never played in a tourney and the 3rd would be to defend my title with one of the teams I previously won with. Will at least narrow it to 2 by Friday before I leave and print out the rosters....decisions, decisions Very Happy See you all in a couple days time!!

Another Sweetbun has come and gone. Had a blast as always, probably one of the most fun and intense set of games I have had in a while. Big huge goes to Pat and Dan for another fun tournament. Running tournaments in games/comic stores always seems to be crippling to my wallet.

Thanks too all my opponents for some kick-ass games. My final Mach against Ryan was the craziest back and forth Stunty match I have ever had. Had a great time as always and see everyone soon hopefully.

????What??? A Big huge huh....don't think Pat and Dan are interested in any Big Huge you have to offer them Laughing and with being a halfling it's all about perspective and I think it should go a little more along the lines of Little Tiny Shocked or at least that is how Dan's mom referred to it!!!!

That being said I had a great time this weekend, a lot of drinking and probably not enough sleeping as usual, Thanks goes out to Dan & Pat for both hosting a great tourney and putting us up at your place again. Many intense games down to the wire! Lots of fun, Congrats to Manu taking home almost all the awards!! and the rest of the award winners. See you all at a tourney soon hopefully!
