TEAM CREATION
I have made some significant changes in the name of making things simpler. While my past years' rules were theme-rich there were too many aspects to them. This version strikes a balance between theme and ease of use that I think you'll all like.

Biggest change: Goblins are no longer mandatory roster additions!

- Coaches will create a rookie team at 1,100K Team Value using the Competition Rules Pack (CRP). Slann, Chaos Pact, and Underworld teams are also allowed. Fan Factor may not be purchased during team creation.
- All team races that have a Goblin Player in their list of available players have the allowed quantity for the Goblin Player adjusted to 1-16 if it is not that already. All other teams have the following added to their list of available players: Goblin ( Cost 40K | MA 6 | ST 2 | AG 3 | AV 7 | Skills: Dodge, Right Stuff, Stunty)
- Fan Factor may not be purchased outright. Each team’s Fan Factor is equal to the number of Goblin Players on the roster and does not contribute to overall Team Value.
- Coaches may have Star Players with the Stunty skill as permanent additions to their rosters (normal team race restrictions still apply). Brick Far’th and Grotty may not be purchased by any team. It is acceptable for the same Star Player to be on multiple rosters in the same game.
- A team must have 11 non-Star Players on their roster before adding any Star Players.

Stunty Team Bonuses
- Goblin teams may purchase 0-3 bribes as permanent roster additions at a cost of 50K each instead of 100k each.
- Goblin & Halfling teams may purchase any allowed Star Players as permanent roster additions (i.e. not just those with Stunty).
- Dirty Player is considered a Normal skill for Goblin Players on Goblin teams.
- Halfling teams may purchase a Halfling Master Chef for 100K as permanent roster addition.

Skill Pack
Teams may add skills to their rostered players per the schedule below. Teams may not acquire the same skill more than three times. Numbers below are Normal skills / Double skills / Additional Skills Per Player

TIER 1: 2N / 1D / 1ASPP (Leader may not be acquired at TIER 1)
TIER 2: 4N / 1D / 1ASPP
TIER 3: 4N / 2D / 2ASPP
TIER 4: 4N / 3D / 2ASPP

SPECIAL "FOR THE LOVE OF FOULING" OPTION: Instead of one of the above skill packs, you may give three linemen on your team the Dirty Player and Sneaky Git skills. This is available to all tiers.

TIER 1: Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Lizardman, Norse, Orc, Skaven, Undead, or Wood Elf
TIER 2: Chaos, Chaos Pact, High Elf, Human, Khemri, Necromantic, Nurgle, Pro Elf
TIER 3: Slann, Underworld, or Vampire
TIER 4: Goblin, Halfling, or Ogre

Pretty sure he got them from Chessex as we have done some similar dice for our tournaments from them with wording around the #1 pip. If you contact there office in the US ask for Joseph (Joe), he is usually very good and can provide you any info needed.

Hope this helps

Yeah, I know Joe. I just wasn't thinking about the pip being incorporated - wouldn't have worked for what I was after. Thanks, though!

Yes, those are Chessex dice. Most of his custom dice have one blank face. He can do customization wherever there is blank space so the "1" side is, obviously, the one with the most available space. It's more expensive because you're customizing two sides but I do like having the name of the tournament on the dice as well as the logo.

They do have dice available that have all sides blank that you can customize to whatever you want but those are 6x, essentially, cost-wise. Our local store made our own block dice this way. Not cheap but if that's what you want they can do it for you.
Gaixo - Sep 29, 2015 - 07:12 AM
Post subject:
Thanks. I knew all that except for the part about marking up a face that has pips on it.

I actually asked Joe to do just that, but he declined. I think the difference was that I wanted the pip to be incorporated into the design and he didn't think the engraver could be precise enough. So I ended up buying two separate sets of dice. Rolling Eyes

So Blingtoof V is fast-approaching. Folks can pre-register either in person or over the phone (905-296-3401 with a credit card) at Black Knight Games. Also, Black Knight keeps a regular stock from Impact. Even if you can't make it to the tournament, if you order Impact merchandise from Black Knight between now and October 23rd that will increase the amount of prize support we get from Impact. To be clear, this is only for orders made through Black Knight (i.e. if you order direct from Impact's web-site it doesn't count). Treat yourself to some goodies from Impact and help out the prize table!

Day 1 Recap

After a day of foul-fueled Blood Bowl, the field is very crowded at the top. Three teams are undefeated with at least 2 wins. Alexander Weiss is at the top of the mountain for 3 wins and a loss but Austin Shelton and Mathew Hreljac are close behind, both with 2 wins and a tie. Particular kudos go out to Austin for rising to the top table with OGRES! Here are the point standings after day 1 (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss. Tie-breakers are net TD, net CAS, total TD, and total CAS):

1. Alexander Weiss - 9 pts (3W 0L)
2. Austin Shelton - 7 pts (2W 1D)
3. Mathew Hreljac - 7 pts (2W 1D)
4. Greg Shelton - 6 pts (2W 1L)
5. Peter William Meers - 6 pts (2W 1L)
6. Ken McNeil - 5 pts (1W 2D)
7. Chris Hamm - 5 pts (1W 2D)
8. Spazz Fist - 4 pts (1W 1L 1D)
9. Grant Hortz - 4 pts (1W 1L 1D)
10. D.h. Tellez - 3 pts (1W 2L)
11. James Mak-Tubbs - (1W 2L)
12. Roderick Davidson - (1W 2L)
13. Evan McFedries - 3 pts (1W 2L)
14. Eric Rubli - 3 pts (1W 2L)
15. Season Ariens-Cyr - 0 pts (0W 3L)
16. Tim Lawson - 0 pts (0W 3L)

Most Touchdowns Top 3:
1. Spazz: 11
2. Alex: 7
3: Ken/Austin/Grant: 6

Most Casualties (Blocking) Top 3:
1. Austin: 14
2. Tim/Mat: 9
3. Season: 8

Fouling Points Standings

Now, don't let Tim's last place standing above mislead you... he is actually, per my tournament rules, deemed to be in second place because of all the fouling he is doing. I am very please to report that, as a group, the coaches above committed a grand total of 215 armour-breaking fouls on day 1 that resulted in 116 stuns, 45 KOs, and 54 casualties. Here are the fouling point standings so far:

Tim Lawson - 83
James Mak-Tubbs - 52
Evan McFedries - 47
Greg Shelton - 35
Rod Davidson - 34
Ken McNeil - 31
Season Ariens-Cyr - 28
Alex Weiss - 25
Eric Rubli - 23
Mat Hreljac - 18
Chris Hamm - 14
Grant Halitosis - 11
Spazz - 11
Dave Tellez - 4
Austin Shelton - 4
Peter Meers - 2

Not to inflate his already burgeoning ego, but Tim has a pretty strong lead so far. A good string of fouling casualties, however, could turn the tide if Tim's Norsca Vikings' kicking boots go cold tomorrow. It's worth mentioning that in game 2 Tim successfully fouled and broke armour every single turn of the game.

Game 4 Match-Ups:

Here are the match-ups for tomorrow morning. The store opens at 11:00 AM. You can start your matches as soon as you and your opponent get there:

Top Table: Alex vs. Austin
Mat vs. Pete
Greg vs. Ken
Chris vs. Spazz
Grant vs. James
Dave vs. Rod
Evan vs. Eric
Season vs. Tim

A very successful Blingtoof's Gitbash 2015 concluded today. We had the most coaches we've ever had at 16, including three that were in their first NAF tournament ever. I'd like to thank all of the coaches that attended (particularly Eric Rubli who flew in from Vancouver just to attend and decided to visit his family while he was here, anyway). Thanks, as well, to Maki Games for providing free miniatures as prizes and to Black Knight Games for hosting us for the second year in a row. Special thanks go to Evan McFedries (Astellos) for being my odd-man-out and an invaluable help over the past two days. Congratulations to all of the award winners:

CLICK HERE for full tournament point statistics exported from SCORE. The above are the "pure" tournament scores. By rule, the Best Fouler (Tim) is deemed second place.

A very noteworthy honourable mention goes to Ken for going undefeated with Halflings with 3 wins and 2 ties. An asterisk on that record, though, will cite that there was not a single Halfling on the team as Ken (wisely) took Goblins instead. Gotta love them roster rules at Blingtoof!

I have submitted tournament results to NAF and await the proverbial pushing of the finalization button.

If you haven't already, check out the Blingtoof's Gitbash Twitter feed for pictures from throughout the event:

http://www.twitter.com/blingtoof

I'm sure Alex will have his usual gallery of pictures up before too long.

Thanks, again, to all who attended and I hope to see you all back next year!
