Hey guys,

I've been pondering putting together a Halfling Team. Here's my current roster that I've been thinking of signing.

10 Halflings
2 Ogres
6 Re-rolls
5 FF

What do you think?

Also, do you have any suggestions on what tactics I should use for the team?

Orges will cost double (240k) from October (JJ's decided). I also think you need more 'flings, as you will lose them in matches.

You don't need that many rerolls if you hire a master Chef every couple of games. I'd drop back to 4 rerolls, buy two more 'flings and keep some spare cash for the Master Chef.

When did Ogres start costing double for halflings?

Not yet, they will next october

I'll allways take treemen

The Ogre won't play much when he sees his dinner waddle around him Laughing

Much more along the lines of the fluff as well

Les rerolls (3 will do)

More 'Flings

Buy a master chef each time you can affore him.

I't really, really annoying to steal these 2 RR from a Welf team Razz

personally i hope they just remove ogres from flings goblins and orcs for that matter

i played halfies a long time ago...they were ok Neutral
drop some rerolls more halfies and i prefer tree's...for some reason... Confused

yeah, but trees hardly ever show up for the 1st half.. that's why i opt for ogre's

its a toss up between either making them cost double or just removing them, find out for sure in october won't we

Three tips on halflings:

(1) Don't fall into the trap of playing them like they're a Big guy team with 0-2 Big Guys and 0-16 Halflings. They're a Halfling team first, Big Guys just help.
(2) Tacklezones are your friend.
(3) Don't rely on the tactics in BB Mag #6 Wink

No

Give them dirty player on doubles.

Foul the living daylights out of your opponent

If you get caught the 'Fling will be so much happier in the sin bin ...

fouling doesn't pay off in the league I play in. If a player gets caught fouling in my league.. they are fined 1d6 x 5,000 gold peices.. But then the commish uses that money for prize money for random contests at normal intervals throughout the season
Dave - Feb 18, 2003 - 04:12 PM

OK

Pray for an AG4 player then. Saves loads of RR when throwing the 'Fling

I have played a fling team before.. though it was about 6 years ago and the rules have changed signifiantly... what i can remember from that team was a fling with a 4ac and sure feet and an ogre with 3ag and pass... though most of my flings suffered cas's through the game, i was doing well in the league as far as win % goes

I don't give a furry Ogre's *ss about that, he should be spanked for considering dropping Ogres from ANY team (except Skaven, off course Wink)!
I can live with Ogres costing twice as much as they do now (they're worth twice as much in Halfling teams anyway) but banning them?????
Think I'll start a Goblin team then... Crying or Very sad

My guess is they will be at double price, but it's a guess.

Personally I don't like Ogres to be available to each team. This makes all teams rather the same what, IMHO, is quite boring

Halflings are like day old donuts....you know they might be awful but you can't help but to try them out (Which incidentally is why I named my halfling squad The Day Old Donuts).

Halflings are great fun to play if you love the game and dont care about winning, winning, or winning. They are IMHO not on par with other squads though. The memories are certainly priceless and those rare victories can be rubbed in the face of the losing coach for quite some time.

Squiggoth: Just model a mincer in front of the Ogre. You could call it "Morg makes lunch"

(Day old doughnuts? just stick them in the microwave for thirty seconds if they're jam doughnuts. Brilliant.)

Mmm... Picture a match between Meli's Day Old Donuts and my Fudgebearers, with 4 Ogres on the pitch waving mincers... That'd be a disturbing sight... Shocked Confused Rolling Eyes

I played Halflings for two years under the 3rd Edition rules. They don't need the Big Guy ogre...the treemen are good enough. What they need is the Chef. I won about 50% of my games. That's right...50%. It was exclusively due to the chef sucking away team re-rolls from the opponent and providing my team more to use. If the chef was lost or rolled poorly...the game followed suit. I'm a huge advocate for making the chef the head coach of the team.

I don't give a damn about rules and tactics, it's just that I hate Treemen (wood elf lovers!) and love Ogres (fat guys with hairy feet - they're made to play with Halflings!). I mean, if you play with Halflings and start considering tactical stuff you're either very good at BloodBowl or just insane Wink
By the way, a master chef as Halfling Head Coach seems only natural Rolling Eyes

Galak looks in his crystal ball.

He sees that in October the Halflings will either loses their Ogres or they'll cost 240k .... (it helps that Jervis himself wrote me to this effect and the BBRC confirmed before I start looking in the crystal ball for this one).

Galak gazes again upon the ball .....

He see experimental rules of the Halflings getting the Master Chef as a head coach in an upcoming BB Mag .... maybe; maybe ... not sure.

For those rules go here:
