Finlands largest roleplaying convention is starting today, and the Blood bowl tournament which is held there, the Ropecon Finnish Open 2003, starts tomorrow.

All the top finnish NAF coaches are attending, including the winners of the two previous tournaments, Navdi (HellBowl winner) and meEmbarassed (DoubleSkulls winner)!

Expect the results next week! The tournament has excellent prizes and the battle for a position in the play-offs will be fierce, without forgetting the battle in the play-offs and in the final game!

Ok, the results are in and will be added to the NAF site tomorrow:

We had alltogether 26 coaches, out of whom (IIRC) 22 were/became NAF members.

Three matches were played on saturday and the players who made it to the play-offs were:

Mestari (Chaos Dwarf) 68 points
veron (Dark Elf) 60 pts.
Navdi (Undead) 57 pts.
L_J (Chaos Dwarf) 53 pts. (forfeited his position)
Rasmus Savolainen (Undead) 52 pts.

Play-Offs were held on Sunday
Mestari won Rasmus 2-0
veron won Navdi at overtime 2-1

At the Grand Corrupt Final of the event the two organisers of the event (me and veron) clashed in an interesting match that ended TD 2-1, CAS 6-0 for me.
Navdi won Rasmus in the bronze match.

So the final results were:

Winner: Mestari (Teemu Tokola)
Second place: veron (J.P. Laurio)
Third place: Navdi (Juhani Seppälä)

Sportsmanship award: Teemu Havulinna (tiipou)
Best painted team award: Jani Hyvärinen (Janzki)

EDIT: added the name of the winner of best painted award.

Not counting games with/against stunty teams, I've never managed to do as many casualties in a single match as I managed in the final. No matter how many injury skills I have had, I've never managed to do 6... I also made one foul casualty there, and with the persistent KO the dark elves had 3 players against me during the last quarter or so of the game.

Well, ljm, having used more than my fair share of luck in that tournament, I fully expect to lose all my games in the Spike! tournament (having by far the lowest TR should help there...).

Oh, btw: I'll start adding the results in tomorrow. Expect to see new rankings sometime this week...

You only won me because my dice rolls were the worst ever in the BB history. Looking forward to a re-match...

I think I have that honor Captain. At the Underworld Cup last year, my Chaos team failed to roll a single POW or Pow/Dodge against my 1st opponent, Norse until turn 3 of the 2nd Half. I only rolled 4 total knockdowns for the entire game.

There's no denying that your luck did go constantly worse towards the end of the match. However, I naturally deny any claims that you would've won with better luck Razz
Also naturally, I'm more than willing to have a rematch (antaa tulla vaan) Very Happy

I played a tournament match chaos dwarves (i) vs halflings and i lost, because it took me 11, yep 11, turs to pick up the frickin´ ball. It was puoring rain though but it doesn´t matter: i rolled 9 1´s and 2 2´s.. Mad
