Rules Questions - Bad kick

When kicking off, first you roll the D8 and the D6, then the kick off table, and take the action on the table.

Take one D6 extra and do you roll the d8 again?
Take one D6 follow the direction of the first D8?
Take two D6 and the D8?

LRB pg 19, 2nd paragraph -

The Kick-Off table is used to recreate these unforeseen but fairly common events. After both teams have set up follow this sequence in the order given; place the ball on the pitch, roll on the Kick-Off table, scatter ball, resolve Kick-Off results, bounce ball.

If you received bad kick as a result you'd roll another d6 and not another d8 scatter roll again. But I think that would emphasize a bad kick if you wanted to house rule it. The additional d6 roll tends to push it out of bounds though.

And If you have kick as a skill? 1d3, and then one 1d6?

If you have the kick skill, it's still 2d6, but you halve the results and rounding any fractions down.

surely in this case the kick off table directly affects the "scatter" portion of the sequence so simply place ball, roll on table, scatter ball (2d6 +1d8) then bounce it one square. saves a hell of a lot of aggro Smile

The sequence is

1) Place ball
2) Roll on kick off table
3) Scatter ball (including bad kick)
4) Resolve kick off result (unless Bad Kick)
5) Bounce ball/catch ball/touch back

When using kick skill its 2D6 halved, rounding fractions down.

Also don't forget that kick, like every other skill, you can choose to use after the scatter is rolled, giving you 2 options for where the ball ends up.
