North America - Qualification Tournaments for Chaos Cup 2004 Tojurub - Oct 31, 2003 - 12:28 PM Post subject: Qualification Tournaments for Chaos Cup 2004
I just had an idea about next years Chaos Cup.
I was wondering what the rest of the NAF community thinks about that: Let's do some regional or State qualification tournaments in order to go to the Chaos Cup 2004.
I was thinking about having some small size (about 15-20 players) tournament in each State (or combine a few states and call it regionals) to play for a free (or reduced prize) entry to the 2004 Chaos Cup. Charge a fee for these tournaments and besides the normal prizes give the winner a ticket for the next years CC.
Of course, if people want to go to the CC by paying GW, they can still do that.

As long as you had the option to buy your way in I don't see why anyone would have any objections.
Just make sure that GenCon is one of the qualifing tournies.Indigo - Nov 01, 2003 - 03:09 AM Post subject:
sounds like sometihng for a tournament organiser to think about, getting Chaos Cup tickets as a prize for his tourney.
If this was the only prize for a tourney I can't see it drawing many people - after all, you'd pay $30 to go to one tourney and then $40 for the Chaos Cup ticket if you didn't win! True, that assumes you're only going to win and not for fun, but I think having it as an extra prize rather than the main one would be a better option.
