Post subject: ice cream in a beer
I had a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a beer once. It was an improvement!

Cause drinnking Blue Draught on its own is like drinking moose piss! Anything added to to Labbats Blue Draught will improve its taste! Laughing

Would I add Ice Cream to other beer? The answer is yes, but only to the nasty tasting ones, & only if it would improve the taste!

I will admit it I'm not a fan of Guiness (or should I say "Tree Bark")
But I have yet to try a scoop of ice cream in it.

On a closing note even though the Ice cream in the Blue was an improvement, it was still a rancid mixture. So although I'd say Ice Cream may possibly improve the "Tree Bark Taste" of a Guiness, rest assured you will never see me try it.

Even though I wont be able to attend, the coin is good news. With all of the stories of North American prize support evaporating it's good to hear there is some silver lining.

Heads up!

As I mentioned on TBB before I've got space here just BEGGING to be used by Bloodbowlers going to the big bash in Oakville...seeing as I'm only fifteen minutes from the location. And of course being THE Goblin Coach round here the place comes complete with English Pub in the basement with billard table and stocked fridges. (What people think I joke about something as serious as that? Sheesh! Very Happy )

So you need the crash space give a holler, no matter HOW far away you're coming from. Though I might charge a fee of a few pints. (Goblin rates being what they are these days... Wink )

And we are SO not letting the Elves get lucky a THIRD time! Very Happy

Probably in physio getting the torn up knee repaired from performing my duties in the service of the Queen. (What, you think that quote of mine was a joke? Rolling Eyes Went off an 8m obstacle rope completely wrong in full battle gear and with the sat-com, wham! It's why I'm here and not in parts overseas... Wink ) ROFL (ow!)

Offer stands for everyone as well, even people who've completely gooned me in the past...and those who've learned just how "Firm but Fair" my referees are. Besides you said Toronto and I'm Burlington, which is right next door to that small town of Oakville. Very Happy You can understand the confusion there.

And Deathbowl sounds like a wonderful idea, as this time I won't be on military duties to miss it! Provided you don't mind a goblin team fouling up the pitch... Laughing

Well, I was thinking of going down to T.O. for the Spike tourney, so would you mind an ogre from Alberta crashing at your gobbo hovel?? Sounds like it could be fun, but I might have to bring my CDs I brought to the BB in Nottingham. How far are you from the airport and how long does it take to get there from your place?? Is there any easy way (public transit) of traveling from the airport?? Anyway, thanks.

Hey, maybe some of you easterners should come out west to the NAF tourney being held in Calgary July 31 and Aug 1. Would be quite cool to get people outside of Alberta coming to this.

There should be room on the billards table somewhere. Wink

Of course Toronto's airport is the only one that has lousy access to public transit! The easy solution to that is get one of the buses to drag you back to downtown Toronto, and hop a train at Union station. (Seeig as by heading my way you get closer to the tournament.)

Very Happy

Well I'm not from over seas, but if you have room, I could use a spot. Any beer you like & I'll buy you a 24 of it! Sounds like a fair deal for a place to crash! Razz

All right, i'll rephrase it. We did beat you at the Deathbowl!

However, i didn't score 3 TDs in one half. And the last TD, i had to do all by myself!

Anyway, i hope we'll get a rematch at the Spike and see who's really the best 1 on 1! You won't be playing wood elves but i probably won't be playing norse either, so it's all right.

Montreal is known far and wide for it's interesting night life. You can't walk more than 2 blocks down St.Catherines street without stumbling across another Adult entertainment joint. Not to mention all the pubs, bars, clubs, movie theatres, theme park, etc. Montreal is the best place in Canada to visit if you're looking for fun in the urban sprawl. The best way to get from Toronto to Oakville is via the GO Train (http://www.gotransit.com/publicroot/default.htm) which leaves from Union Station. The nearest station to GW is Clarkson although the Oakville station isn't that much farther, so either will work. From there it is a short taxi ride. I'm not too sure what weekend schedules are like, train service over here isn't that great. Unless you have a burning desire to be in Toronto I'd suggest staying in Oakville or the west part of Mississauga since it is much closer.

Just a word of warning, weekend transit services out here suck unless you are in downtown Toronto, be sure to check out schedules ahead of time!

I'm booked at the Fairfield Inn in Oakville and I will have a car - I believe JKL is going to be staying with me but if anyone wants to book there, I will certainly have a car and can take a couple more...

That looks very close to the HQ, probably a 5 minute car ride.

Very cool, OMM! You always seem to be the first one who is prepared. Smile Good to hear JKL is coming up too, another chance to have a tiebreaker game against him! Wink

Come to think of it OMM, I'm surprised to say I've still never played you... One of these days!
Pow Right in the kisser! Very Happy

Hello all, i live near GW Oakville and could possibly arrange to help Transport people around staying fairly close to the tourney. Are there lots of people staying in Toronto? or closer to Oakville. Toronto is a bit too far for my liking.

Anyway let me know if some of you out of towners might be needing some transportation.

Ben

Do we have to tell you in advance what size T-shirt we want? If so, right down an extra large for me. Should i call direct service to make sure they've got this right?

Better late than never I guess. Registered yesterday for the event. I'll be traveling in from Springfield, MO on the 17th and look forward to meeting everybody. I've got my room booked at the Fairfield in Oakville.

Someone else asked me to pick one up for him, since i didn't want one. So do i have to reserve one in advance to be sure to get an extra large?

Also, i'm still waiting for the answer to my question on apothecaries. Is it ok to play one race and have an apothecary of a completely different race? Apothecary models aren't made at all by Games Workshop, so it's pretty hard to have one, nevermind one of the proper race.

Could you not just use a wizard of that race as an Appoth?

Skaven=Grey Seer
Orc=Shaman
Human,Norse,Amazon=Wizard
Lizardman=Skink Shaman

I think most WHF races have Wizards,Shamans or some sorta Spell Caster. I think any of those would do.

What if i don't have a wizard of that race? I've never played any Games Workshop game other than Blood Bowl (so i don't have any Warhammer miniatures), and i've never played in a league that forced (or even encouraged) people to have miniatures to represent their coaching staff.

As far as I'm concerned, you can use any race for any of your coaching staff. There's nothing that says the coaching staff has to be the same race as the team. We are talking about a world where mutated Chaos Warriors are allowed to travel into the heart of the Empire. Why couldn't a human be working for a Skaven team?
