Awesome stuff!

As a fanatical supporter of the BB tournament scene, you can expect me to be there for this one! Not sure if this is a good thing for you guys, as I might chase away all the people who might have otherwise felt that the stood a chance of winning! With me there, they know they are going to get crushed! Twisted Evil

I will put those cards in the local games store for sure though Dan.

I'd love to go, I'll see what the other Ottawa boys think.

You're welcome Joe but next time I will make sure my Norse do not drink too much Dwarven Ale the night before. Apart from the bad dice (curse you Nuffle) it was an enjoyable game.

I hope you can make it down Joe, I will keep my fingers crossed that you do not require surgery.

As I mentioned to some of you I have 2 extra beds and 2 couches so I can put up 4 people on those but I have floor space for up to 6 more people if you don't mind the floor or bring an inflateble mattress.

I know a lot of coaches don't play Dungeon Bowl so you all better get some practise in as game 4 is a Dungeon Bowl match. This should be an interesting twist to the tournaments you guys usually go to.

Where is everyone. Things have been quiet around here lately.

There is only 3 weeks to go until the Bongo Bowl and things are looking good. So I have 3 people signed up on the website. If you are planning to attend please go to the website and apply:

http://rubli.ca/bongo-bowl/

I am looking forward to providing a good atmosphere and in speaking to the owner of the Embassy regarding alcohol, he wanted to know what brands of beer people might want. I already mentioned that Guiness would be one brand ( just for you Rod Very Happy )
If there are other brands please let me know asap and the Embassy will try to get them in.

On a final note, lets start talking about this tourney, come on get some trash talk going. I even willing to let Eric start on his momma trash talk. Lets get things moving guys and see ya in 3 weeks.

Hey all,

So far there are 5 people signed up on the website for the tourney. I know Ben said he was coming but has not siged up yet. Is anybody else coming from outside London. Craig are you bringing your brother? Is any Ottawa boys coming and is Peter Meers making it? The more the marrier, I do have some interest from other players in Toronto so that may bring 1-4 more players and there are a few from London so it should be a decent first tournament.

So far the team registered are:

Skaven x 2
Amazon
Pro Elves

What is everyone else bringing? It would be great to have a mixed variety. Heads up to all the coaches. I will be away in Toronto working for the next 2 weeks and will not be checking this forum too often as I will not have easy access to the internet. So Chairface will be taking over from here and keeping you hooligans in line Very Happy

If anyone needs accomodations please contact Chairface through a PM or they can call my house ans speak to my wife (519-641-8410). She is aware of everything and is also supporting our fun weekend. Good luck to all the coaches coming down and lets have a blast.

One last thing what kind of BEER would coaches like to have at the Embassy. I need a list from people Saturday June 16.

Well, I can't make it for sure. Work is crazy, and I just bought a house that I'm busy fixing-up (some would say rebuilding ...) before we move-in in August. No tourneys for me until September, at the earliest. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the Niagara one that Rod is holding, but that depends on the turn of events with the new house, and other things.

Haven't heard anything about the other Ottawa guys, so don't know if they are planning to go.

Ben criss, I actually had to look this one up, as I had never heard it before. Found the definition in "The Alternative Quebecois Dictionary": http://www.notam02.no/~hcholm/altlang/ht/Quebecois.1.html

Go through it if you get a chance, it is quite amuzing.

I was going to put the definition here, but finally chose not to.

Glad I could help.

Unless the UFC is free I will not be showing it at the house otherwise we can make arrangements to go to a sports bar.

Guys I have some bad news!!!!!!! I may not be able to attend the Bongo Bowl. I was told last night that we are having another shift bid this Friday the 22nd to determine our new shifts in the Grand Craphole. I have worked for the casino for 8 years now and this will be our 17th shift bid. This really sucks as I was looking forward to kicking all your asses at the Bongo. I am not officially out yet, but I must tell you guys it doesn't look all that great. They have removed my Fri-Sat off the schedule, so I have 2 cracks at Sat-Sun off which will be great but, I pick 6th. Which means Sun-Mon off or Thurs-Fri off. The only good thing is that there is a possibility that 4 of the top 6 will not pick the Sat-Sun shift as it is a crappy schedule. one is a 7am start time and nobody likes working those, the other is on the midnight shift, which I currently work and the shift was posted for me in mind. Unfortunately, word on the street is that the guy who picks fifth is saying to everyone that he has to leave day shift and go to midnights, due to his kids. I can't promise anything but I will try and figure something out as this isn't going to only affect the Bongo, but this will affect pretty much all the remaining tourneys this year. I am really bummed out and I will keep you guys posted.

Sorry to hear that Rob, when I think about it I cannot remember the last tourney I was at that you were not there! Would be weird not having you there! Quiet, but weird!

I suppose that is one less bottom feeder for me to step over on my path to victory!

It's not self-gratification. Seriously man, it is a curse being as great as I am. Can you imagine the pressure? No, you can't. Because you are so far below my level that you cannot even begin to comprehend the pressures of being an elite player like myself.

Go back to your Mad Magazines and "Your Mama" on MTV starring that Herv Villichez from that 70's show. This is man's work.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the concern. My disappointment begins and ends with the casino. I am so fed up with this shift bid crap all the time that I think it is time to start looking for another job. It seems every 6 months or so we are thrust into another final shift bid and it is just getting ridiculous. Don't get me wrong....the money and benefits are awesome but at some point the constant fucking with ones lives has to come to an end. 15 shift bids in 8 years is pathetic. Very disappointing, not only going to screw with my family life, as my kids live approx 1 hour 40 min from me but it will interfere with my passion for bloodbowl, the friends I have made through this game, to spending time with my father on Saturday nights at the races. Just overall really bummed out about this......I hope that if I don't make it, you will all have a fabulous time, enjoy the game that I love and remember......Your lucky Liberatchee isn't bending you over the coals!!!!!!

Sorry about this Rob, got caught up in me not getting to make it.
Hope you get a good resolution at work. I have to admit I have never heard of a "shift bid" but it sounds a bit like a draft, and you know what I think about drafts Wink But I percieve that drafts may not be good in all circumstances, e.g. dinner time, I draft potatoes, wife drafts salt, I draft pepper, wife drafts qucihe it'd all end in tears.

good luck!

Oh Joe, I will miss not crushing you with my Nurgle team. I know that you played my second rate orc team, but I am not Number One in the world with Nurgle for nothing you know! You would know a defeat more crushing that Rod's hopes at picking up at a nudey bar, or face a more hopeless challenge than Ben's hopes of keeping his liquor down when on an Ottawa drinking binge.

It would not be pretty my friend (insert gratuitous "your mama" joke here Eric).

Congrats (I think - what's with the dis about the two hours with me b**ch?) to Eric for winning, who would have thunked? Ya see, you leave Ben and Joe out of a tourney for a couple of days, and all hell breaks loose!

But what can I say, his 'zons were unstoppable - with a vanilla teams tourney and only a few skills, he had plenty of blodge and nobody had the block or tackle to deal with it......

There were eight people at the tourney: Me, Clan-Skaven, Talons, Eric, the organizers (Chairface and Shadowseer) and then a couple of noobs. Given the number of people we went with a round robin style as oppose to a swiss.

Teams were as follows:
Eric - Amazons
Me - Nurgle's Rotters
CS - Orcs
Talons - Pro Elves
Chairface - Ogres
Shadowseer - Lizardmen (monkies)
The Noobs played lizardmen and humans.

I started off against Dave's ogres. First turn, there's a bad kick which landed on a snotling right behind an ogre - ba-boom one turn touchdown and nothing I can do about it. Then in my retaliation, despite numerous blocks on the snotties, all I could roll were triple pushes. Second half was a bit better and I managed to score and tie the game (1-1).

Second game was against Eric's 'zons who were coming off an upset of Rod's orcs. He got the first turn and his first play was a 1d block against one of my rotters, knocks him down and casualties him out of the game. Again, I was getting tons of pushes and at the end of the first half I had three casualties (against me! - including my rotter with leader!) to his none. Luckily the second half was more within the law of averages and I started to fight back and eventually won it 1-0.

Third game was against the other Eric, who was playing humans. A bitter brawl all game, but I managed to come out with a victory (2-0).

Then came the draft, I got mighty blow for a warrior, claw (warrior) tentacle (warrior) and extra arms (rotter) - (For starters I had leader on a rotter and block on my beast of Nurgle)

The next game was the Dungeonbowl, first touchdown wins. I was playing Dan's team of evil monkeys (lizardmen stats), and as we started pulling players into the dungeon, he committed a lot of players on one side. Luckily my pestigor found the ball on my first attempt, and then managed to teleport on to his weaker flank where I had two chaos warriors to hold off his defenders. My beast of Nurgle ran with a babysitter from one side of the dunegon to the other, while the pestigor fought against a stupid skink who would not stay down. Eventually, I triumphed and scored.

Second last game was against the other noob Brad, and his lizardmen. My claw was unstoppable in this game only failing to penetrate armour after successfully penetrating armour about ten times (no exaggeration)! Needless to say, I won that one too (2-0)

Final game was a lot of pressure - Talons. Lose to this guy, and never hear the end of it. Beat this guy, and never hear the end of how I cheated. Also, it had big implications for the final standings. Let me say though, that I think any team with seven armour was seriously hosed on this table because of the +1 to all armour rolls when knocked down. He put up a great fight, and I only managed to score in the final turn of the first half (I was really nervous to start the second half without scoring, as I know how fast elves can score). However, by the end of the second half I think he only had four players left and I made it 2-0.

A lot of fun, love the draft, and Dungeonbowl was a crazy game, but a lot of fun! Would definitely do it again, and look forward to seeing more of you mutts out there!

To elaborate on Eric's detailed statement, I heard from Rob that Brad had given his money to Eric to give to Ben so that he could be signed up for NAF. Therefore, Brad's should be signed up, not just 'cause Eric says so, but because he has paid for it.
