Howdy all!

Just a line to let you know that the Halfling Dinner Mug will be taking place at our February FanatiCon event in Port Washington, just north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The 2 day event will be on Feb. 7 & 8 at the same hotel, Country Inn & Suites. Hotel info and some preliminary info can be found at...

Andy is about finished with a dowloadable tournament pack which should be up by this weekend. Will 2-time winner Dick Welsch show up for this event? Will Andy be playing the Khemri now that they are offical? Will I ever play anything but Halflings? Only time will tell....

If you folks have any questions, ask away!

Post subject: Lurking...
I've been hiding. Since the Chaos Cup, I've been teaching (my second year at the new school). We're also getting ready for child #2 due December 22nd.

Running a tournament has always been on my mind though. I'm looking into new trophies and am working out a deal with the fellow who has made Mordheim scenery for our event. I'm seeing if he could make us a nice 3-D board for the event. Of course, for those of you that have seen Andy's homemade pitches, I wouldn't be surprised if we see some of those too.

Hi Gregg,
is this going to be a NAF sanctioned Tourney? I couldn't find it in the Tournament list. The chances that I can make it are actually very high since my in-laws live in Milwaukee (good place for the kids to stay while daddy's having fun Very Happy )

NAF Sanctioned? Why of course!! It's in the "waiting" section while I chat about tournament setup with a few of the regulars.

Post subject: Registration is now open!
Anyone can now register for the tournament at the official FanatiCon website. Also, feel free to download the official Tournament PDF. All of the info can be found at...

Looking forward to seeing many of you again and a few new faces!

Post subject: Hotel Rooms Still Available
I checked with the hotel where the get-together is taking place and found out that there are still 5 rooms left. They are under the name FanatiCon. If these rooms are filled - and if there are still rooms left at the hotel - a new block will be open for us during the second week of January.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I will be there also, along with a few other NAFers. Please get your halflings painted. My dwarf team will thank you with a mug of ale if you do. Very Happy

Sorry it's not going to happen....two kids and the loaded schedule of my wife prohibits any painting right now...so you have to deal with an all dwarf match in case we two meet during the tourney

How can they be new and improved? Did you go back before the last rules change made them even bigger wusses! IMHO of course.

Hi there,
first to post after the tournament Very Happy

Great job Gregg and Andy for organizing the tourney...I had fun, with the exception of the game against Griff and his human helpers...but still congrats to Chris for winning the HD-MUG...it takes more than just having Griff on your team to win that many games. I find that very amusing and amazing at the same time that the only team he could't beat was the halfling team, which almost won!!

I will e-mail the pictures I took on Sunday to you guys as soon as I have some time today or tomorrow.

One thing is for sure: I fell in love with Zara....was difficult when she failed all her dodge rolls in game 2 and 3, but games 1, 4 and 5...especially 5 she showed why she is the Chosen One!

Zara rocks. But what did you think of the pub quiz? Smile

Post subject:
I wasn't expecting a pub quiz....must have missed that in the flyer....but it was good...I sucked in it (1 out of 10)....the only thing which I didn't like about it was the question(s) about the 2nd edition rolls....I never played the 2nd and I wouldn't even know what the differences were....I think I liked the kick/perfect defense question the best (even though I didn't have the right answer)

Great job on your part Smile

Post subject: Tournament Was a Success!
Thank you all for attending another tournament! Andy's help was fantastic. Between his continued support and that of Jon's and Gabe's, the FanatiCon and any BB Tournament in the future can only get better.

My Halflings performed admirably. It took another coach to remind me that I did something fantastic by preventing the top coach from 5 straight wins by ending the game with a draw! The spooky thing now about my Halflings is that I do not have a single successfully thrown Halfling in 2 years!!

Bob gave me a lesson on how to run an Undead team successfully. And Ethan, last year's winner, proved himself to be the ultimate sportsman by coaching a Goblin team. All in all, I thought the Stunties gave those taller a run for their money!

The Pub Quiz was pretty tough, but provided us with laughter and allowed those who excel in the history and mechanics of Blood Bowl a chance to shine! Thanks Chet for your assistance in our Best Coach category which was just one fo the 4 trophies given away.

Already looking forward t the next tournament!

Gregg
