Converting - Orcs!

Ok, with the WHFB and W40k Orcs being multi-part models it's quite easy to convert them to BB-orcs... but they are a little to big for the normal field and way to big for the grey polystyrol-field...

My question: How do you do it?

[Why are there no new BB minis????]

I'd call the Khemri team, the Nurgles Rotters and the upcoming Ogre miniatures 'new minis'!! Wink

Ok Ok Shocked no fotos as i had no camera Embarassed but the new elf team will be out july(ish) and was very 2nd ed BB, the redone star players will be out by DEC and are much more dinamic and will be sold on dioramic bases (the new Varag and griff are the best Minis seen for a long time)
Vamp team and necro team out some time after elves i think, current undead team will be retired when the 3 new teams are out

i don't know about you guys, but i think it's kinda gheto to retire the old undead team. it feels like GW is just tryin to milk more money out of blood bowl. i just really feel the need to slpit the undead up...or get yet another elf team...i could go on for days, but i won't.

They are trying to make money off Blood Bowl... isn't that kinda the point for them? Besides, making new, updated mini's is something that many in this hobby consider vital to the life of the hobby. They've updated the mini's of WFB and 40K, why not BB as well? I agree, new mini's reflecting the current mini's from WFB would be great! You wouldn't have to buy a new team, but having new mini's wouldn't be bad, either.

I agree with you BlanchPrez, another good thing about the upcomin minis is that they are more football players and less WHFB in look, Jervis said that they were going to steer away from the WH world sort of set BB aside from it, so we should start to see more original stuff for BB in the future

don't get me wrong, by all means it's about time for some new BB minis. i just don't like tossing established teams that have been around for a decade or so.

To be honest, of all the current BB models only the Halflings are okay IMHO... All of the other teams (especially Orcs and Undead) suffer from the "We Were Really Cool When Martijn Still Had To Learn How To Walk"-syndrome (the Orcs for example are half the size of my plastik Orcs!)

That's just what I meant. I really thing there is need for some more. I mean, I can take up to 4 BO Blockers, but AFAIK there are only 3 different models... this sucks!

Nope, there's 4 different metal Black Orcs and the command group whih is 2 more models, as well as Grimgor Ironhide and the Black Orc from Games Day 2000. Just Remove All Traces Of Choppa Wink

In other words, don't even think about using those old, floppy Black Orc wannabes anymore Wink

By the way... I just don't get that question of yours in the first post... "but they are a little to big for the normal field"???

New minis for old teamas are definitely in the works, but you won't see them for a while yet. If they look anything like the new Griff and Varag I think you will all be very pleased!

Does that mean the new Star Players are going to be out before the teams? I personally think this is backwards. But, maybe this is just me. To me, half the fun of playing in a league is building up your own star players, so I would prefer "baseline" models rather than star player models first.

i like the idea of getting new minis for the older teams. if they redo the entire orc team i will be the 1st in line to by a set. after having a day to think about it more, i really just feel like GW is starting to care less and less about the games and materials they release and more and more about their profits. but that's just my opinion.

A normal WHFB or W40k Orc is to big to put in line at a game. Especially on the grey styrofoam field. *g*

It's ok by me if a company tries to stay with a "good income" but GW really overdoes it. But hell... we're still buying aren't we?

BUT ME DEMANDZ NEW MINIS!

i realize that the point of running a company is to make money, i just don't want the quality of things that a lot of people(myself included) really enjoy suffer in the quest for the almighty dollar.

Uh? I only have the green field and my Orcs fit perfectly (even the Black Orcs and the Ogre fit perfectly!)... I've never even seen the astrogranite field with my own eyes Wink

It looks quite cool... but unbalanced minis keep falling over... :/

Why? Is the field so rough?
Melifaxis - Mar 06, 2003 - 04:46 AM

Yeah, it's got a pretty rough surface. It looks cool overall, but it makes gameplay a bit of a pain. Plus, it's not the same size as the new board.

Ah... Well, about stupid fields: I noticed that the Finalist Stadium in Bugman's Hall (the superlarge stadium where the finals are played) has a very ROUGH surface. With sand and rocks. That's even more stupid, I wouldn't dare play a game in that stadium (just think of all the paint chips!). Not that I ever WILL (altough I could've in January if someone else had a team with them...)

The new Star Player models are due to have variant heads, so you can use Griff as a human blitzer etc.

And it sounds like he's lost the chicken Laughing
