Wizards, the only wizards that will be allowed will be the Halfling Master Chefs. Who may buy extra ingredients for the team at 80k each.

In the spirit of good sportsmanship Illegal Procedures will not be called. The 4 minute turn rule will not be strictly enforced. But if the Tournament Referee feels the game may not finish in the 2 hour time allotted, he may insist you use a timer and begin enforcing the 4 minute rule.

D6s will be provided for you.

Skill choices
Players will not gain SPPs as they would in league play. Instead you may give you player???s skills after each round according to the list bellow. No player may gain more then one skill throughout the course of the tournament. Chaos, Nurgle, and Skaven may take a mutation after round two but you must have a model to represent the mutation.

After round one you will be allowed to give two players one skill they could obtain on a regular skill roll

After round two you may give one player on your team a skill they could normally take on a doubles roll

After each round after this you will be able to give one player a skill they could normally obtain on a regular skill roll.

Other notes on skills
Dirty player will be changed to +1/+1 for the tournament.

Tournament points
Win = 55 pts
Tie = 35 pts
Loss = 10 pts

Bonuses
For the sake of bonuses CAS will only count if caused by a block or foul.

Kept it close = (lost by 1) 10pts
Caused 1 more CAS then the opponent +5 pts
Caused 2 more CAS then the opponent +10pts
Won by 2 or more TDs +5pts
Won by 3 or more TDs +10pts

Painting
Up to 12 points will be given to each team for painting based on the following criteria. In order to get the points in a category al models on the team must meet the requirements. (Please note the painting points are effort based not skill based, anyone that tries to paint their team well gets the points.)

Based 2pts- All the bases in the team are painted and or textured in some manner.

Painted 3pts- The team is painted. All models must have at least 3 colors on them.

Detailed 3pts- All models have had some details painted in a variety of colors or noticeable effects. This can be shading highlighting etc. This discriminates between the merely painted team and the team that has had attention paid to it.

Representative 4pts- All models on the team are representative of their race and position that they are meant to portray. Extra weapons that are not part of the finished model have been removed. This does not mean that you must use official Games Workshop models, only that an Ogre should look like an ogre, a dwarf should look like a dwarf etc. All models must be able to be differentiated for purposes of skill giving; easiest way is to have the players numbered.

Sportsmanship:
We are here for the fun of the game. Sportsmanship is not encouraged from the coaches it is required! Each player will rate each opponent they play on a private ballot. Thus every opponent you face will have a chance to rate your level of sportsmanship.

An important note on sportsmanship. Fouling 16 turns in a row and running up the score is not poor sportsmanship. But gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is. Remember we are here to have a good time.

The Zlurpee Bowl will be a NAF sponsored event. Anyone playing who isn???t a NAF member yet and would like to join may sign up at the tournament as their will be a NAF representative on site.

Plenty of awards and prizes, everyone will leave with something.
Trophies for
1st place
Tournament MVP
2nd place
3rd place
Most Sporting
Wooden Spoon
Best Painted

Should be a good time.

Can I renew and get the kewl new blue dice in hand at the tourney?

I'd really like to come to the tourney, but man what a drive back to work and school late on Sunday to get to Madison, WI

I'm pretty sure I could round up a contingent of guys from Madison and Chicago. That drive home though...

Xtreme ran a very well run tournament ... had a lot of fun. Thank Xtreme!

I took Halflings with the hope of recapturing the title of #1 North American Fling Coach.

Went 2 wins-3 ties-1 loss

Took 2nd overall for the tournament and won Best Painted Team.

Now if you placed you couldn't win any other trophies ... but here was the real kicker for me for this tournament ...

I had the Most Casualties caused AND the Most Touchdowns scored for the tournament. (heck I might have had most CAS suffered to ... but I forget to ask Brian that question).

The Halflings were on fire ... I just couldn't stop the Undead team I faced in the final championship match (big Congrats to Xtreme's wife for the tournament win (Jennyafur on this forum if memory serves). The dice just gave up on me on that last game ... couldn't break armour ... couldn't dodge ... and I failed two Throw Team-Mate landing rolls with a reroll backer (75% chance of success). Just wasn't meant to be.

But "winning" four trophies at one tournament with Flings ... that was just awesome ... definitely a tournament for me to remember.

Big thank you to all that came, it was a fun weekend. I hope you can all come back again next year for Zlurpee Bowl II. It will be bigger and better i'm sure.

Site has been updated with pics of the weekend and results.

Tom there was a mistake though, you did have most CAS but Jenny beat you in TDs by one. You had the scores backwards on your sheet for the last game and I didn't catch it.

Ah well ... my bad. Still 2nd for TDs and tied overall for most CAS caused and 2nd overall for most CAS suffered ... it was a fun showing for the stunty ones.

Thanks again for running the tournament Bryan.

I also wanted to mention that it was great fun to finally get to play against Bryan. Unfortunately for Brian the Trees had more blood in their eyes than the Ogres (although the game was brutal enough). The last 4 turns of the game were played with 10 players between us in the KO or Injured boxes. That game was a lot of fun. And failing dodge rolls or GFI was deadly ... I think almost every Goblin or Fling that failed a dodge or GFI ended up KOing himself or worse ... was kinda fun ... started to believe there was razor wire in the pitch.

Definitely had a great time. The pictures are very very very cool.

Although I was among the first games to finish in all rounds but one, I really appreciated the extra 15 minutes to complete each game. (Yes, I play slowly, but I made a conscious effort in each game to play faster...)

Already look forward to next year. Thanks to Bryan and all opponents!

The last round was a postional round so the tourney points didn't come into play after that. He was in the Championship game, so winner takes first loser takes second.

That's what I suspected. I guess that's a good way to play it. I'm still torn on how I feel about it though. You had 6 games? I guess 5 is plenty to determine table 1. Lass than that though..... Not enough IMO.

Way to go Tom. Congratulations Mrs. X for showing him who's boss! Worship

Thanks Steve.

Coming out of the 5th round, I was 2 wins - 3 ties and Frank (SolarFlare) was 3 wins - 1 tie - 1 loss. Raw point wise without extras that was 55+55+35+35+35 for me (215) and 55+55+55+35+10 for Frank (210) ... so it was close between use to see who was playing in the championship. I think we had pretty similar extra points for CAS and TD as well ... so it was close.

As for Jenny's win ... early in the game Deeproot got a clear Blitz on Luthor and couldn't take him out on the knockdown. Few turns later Luthor was next to the sideline with Deeproot ready to push him out. Jenny could only get a one dice block on Deeproot with Luthor on a blitz and got the 1 in 3 odds to get out of trouble. Came so close to crowd surfing Luthor which is how Frank got rid of him in his game against Jenny.

I never found Luthor overpowered in our game ... Jenny spent 380k of your 1,000k on him to field him and had only 1 re-roll, 2 mummies, 1 ghoul, and skeletons to support him. A good hit and 40% of her team is gone. Just couldn't convert it. I played Jenny in Game 4 before the finals and fought her to a tie. Luthor wasn't a factor much in that game, fouled him when needed and Deeproot did a good job of keeping him in place ... even had 5 Flings at one point team up to knock him down to score a TD.

Anyway ... a good tournament.

Well, Terry and I really wanted to come down for this tourney but we just couldn't make it work. I'm happy for JennyaFur as she is one of my favorite coaches in Blood Bowl. I really feel bad that I missed Zlurpee I but we'll definitely try to be there for Zlurpee II.

Way to pull off your first tourney Xtreme and congrats JennyaFur!
