Rules Questions - Big Guy for Amazons?

Post subject: Big Guy for Amazons?

I'm sure this is probably just a rookie oversight (one among many as I am constantly reminded! Laughing

), but I figured I would ask. I know I can hire Thrudd or Zara as a star player for an Amazon team, but are there any Big Guys they can use? I mean, would having Human listed on a Big Guys stats as an allied team mean they would also play for an Amazon team? Aren't Amazons human?

Well then it could be argued that Nurgle's Rotters are Chaos, and that the Chaos dwarves are in fact dwarves with a chip on their shoulder and so by some small stretch of the imagination should have access to the deathroller!

Well technically Norse are also Human and have Minotaur access...cool...my humans are going to hire Big Mac, Mino-Blocker Extraordinaire!!

I'm not sure if anyone is still interested in the original topic - but it is clear from the Amazon fluff that they would never play on the same team as an Ogre or most of the other Big Guys, but they would be quite happy to hug a Treeman.

Just wondering, of what fluff do you speak? Since they are not a WFB army, what fluff is there, something from Mordheim? Although, since there is a Lustrian experimental, there's the possibility of them teaming with a Kroxigar.

Everyone knows that any Amazon society needs to at least have a couple of men around for procreation. Actually this makes the Thrudd inclusion perfect...A big healthy/strapping male who would be all too easy to control. Hey...I'm sure you've seen the Zon coach with the Whip.

I'm just guessing, but it looks like Thrudd way be...whipped. Smile

Feel like I'm walking into a private joke here, but:

Under LRB 4.0 - No, Amazons cannot hire a Big Guy (of any type), nor can they Freeboot Morg.
Under Vault - They can freeboot Morg, but they still do not have access to a Big Guy.

No inside joke, was just a question as to whether Big Guys that are listed as playing for Human teams can play for all human teams (incl. Amazon and Norse), or just the specific "human" team.

The only "human" team is the Human team. Amazons and Norse are completely distinct teams (why would Norse have a separate BG listing otherwise!). 'zons do not have a big guy.

Since Amazons cannot have a Big Guy (not a star player), I think they need something to spend the extra money on. It just seems silly to me to have them spend there extra money on rerolls ($40K) when they all have the dodge skill. They could at least allow for a Bull Dyke amazon that is like a black orc. Only fair.

When we were playing our one league, as we were taking casualties into account for scoring points, we introduced a house rule for the amazon team so that they could take a female ogre.
It had to be WYSIWYG on the field, and we modified the stats slightly to make it different. if I can find out what changes we made (as I cant remember right now), Ill post them up here Smile

Great Idea! I could convert some Empire or Brettonian peasants to have pom-poms! Make them like slave cheerleaders.
