North America - Philadelphia Phrakus 2006 - Poll Question

Post subject: Philadelphia Phrakus 2006 - Poll Question
Ok folks...as I mentioned in the main thread for this year's Philadelphia Phrakus...Jay and I are pleased to announce that there will be a painted team on the prize table this year. What I need from you gracious people is an idea of what races should be available for the choice.*

Please take a moment to identify what your 1st choice would be if you were to win the Phrakus. (Also, in the form of a reply, please list your top three in order of preference.)

* Only the winner of the tourney get a team. He/she will get their choice and the rest of us will just have to train harder for Philadelphia Phrakus 2007

I voted for Skaven, but truth be told....I'd rather have an Ogre/Goblin or a Goblin team (with secret weapons Twisted Evil )...

An Ogre team might be difficult for a couple of reasons...

1. The expense of the models may put it outside of what we can afford given the size of our tourney.

2. As we all know, this roster is in flux. (Which could actually make this an even more expensive proposition considering the going rate for Blood Bowl Snotlings.)

Now a Gobbo team with the full boat of secret weapons...that could happen. I'll consider that a vote, and will see how much play that idea gets in the house of Public Opinion. Smile

Actually an ogre team could be cheaper if you use the plastic WFB models which make for a great ogre team!

I'm not a big fan of those models myself, but if folks would like to have a painted Ogre Team using the plastics...I can certainly accomodate them.

With that in mind...feel free to cast your vote for the Plastic Ogre team if that is what you'd like to see! Smile

P.S. Can anyone tell me how to edit a poll question so that I can go in and add some of these new options?

I need a necro team, ergo.... Razz

I think Lizzies should be top of the list if you got a gamesday team.
Other than that, I'd say Undead.

What, doesn't farthest travel from St. Louis, Missouri warrant a pro-painted team?

Definately a fun roster, but again the snotlings might make it tough.

I'm not sure why, but Necro in the lead kind of suprised me. It's a great team and lots of fun...I guess I should have expected it!

Anyway, I now have some shopping to do...and am wondering what werewolves people would prefer. The 3rd Ed BB Wolves or the 2nd Edition Star Wolves?

(I am hesitant to ask this question because it may be opening a can of worms. Please limit your choice to one of the above and refrain from mentioning the Confrantation "Cool but Massive" options. Smile )

.................................................................................. I'd say, one 2nd eddition & one 3rd eddition, so you have a varied look. (Two different looking werewolf looking modles will look far nicer than two the same IMO)

Rod.

Rod-
Generally I'd agree with you, but those two models look like they are from different planets. Smile The style of the models are different enough that they seem to be mismatched. (The Golems on the other hand...look like brothers. Smile)

Anyway...the public has spoken, this is not my team afterall! We'll see how the votes break down in the end.

BTW...You going to make this one Rod?

Why not get one of the 2ed ones, and then use some green stuff to sculpt a model to look like Rod with his new haircut? Laughing

I'm always up for any NAF tourney (u know that!)

But if I'm working..... who knows my sceadual is rumoured to change soon (a rumour is I may be getting a lay off soon!)

If I get laid off then I'll start looking into finally starting my BEER/BB Tourney!

Actually...I'm kind of suprised that no one is asking about the lack of Elfs on the list above. No Elf lovers out there? Smile

Most elf teams don't make the best tournament teams.

I'm guessing that's why no one is commenting. Also, guessing that's why you didn't put them on there.

Or do you just hate elves that much? Smile

I don't know...Zombie just won the Canadien Open with Wood Elves and last year's Phrakus was won by High Elves. Plus...I have a juicy 2nd ED Elf team if they got enough votes for consideration. Smile
