Sorry for not replying, had a few probs with the computer. Met some guys in the local area that I've started to get some games with and am slowly learning the rules with.

I'd love to come to Blacktown, but Im currently without a car... long story.

If someone had a venue for a tournament in the south eastern suburbs, melbourne, when would be a good time to run one?

< i have a good potential site, already with chairs and table and other stuff and ability to handle hot food etc, but would like an idea for when>

this is mainly just a probing for ideas question att he moment. Easter and queens birthday would be out, as already go to a con at one of those times and the other i have inconveniently made my wedding aniversary silly of me, but wondering if people had some ideas as to when? Especially interested in replies from melbournians and interstaters willing and able to travel.

Where are _you_ from?

I'm on the Central Coast - but used to be located in Canberra (with a 1 year stint in Wagga Wagga) I've run leagues in all of my local areas - but my local league has folded for now because I have been concentrating on MOAB, CanCon and getting married. And I did play Blood Bowl on my honeymoon - my wife plays humans and has a mean throwing game.

If Elans wife andf my wife learn the game like they have been talking about, there might be scope for a ladies pennant maybe Smile

If our wives learn to play - I am going to start playing hobbits - gets the damage over that much quicker.

Having been married awhile, I am too smart to use my orcs on her - I might win the game but SCAR TISSUE is forever. Take this as advice young Goode - don't win the first game!

hehehehe well, I live in Carnegie personally. Mates and I are putting together a few teams for a few games.

As for flattening me... well, that'll be way too easy. I haven't played this game in years, so am going to be very rusty.

Yeah Cataphract - one of these days I'm going to accept your invitation and play some online BB again.

Do you really play a whole game in 50 minutes? That's awesome!

Where do you download the javascript program from and what are the hardware specs?
Darkson - Nov 19, 2003 - 03:13 PM
Post subject:
I believe the link for Javabowl is in the downloads section.
cataphract - Nov 19, 2003 - 08:13 PM
Post subject:
here are the relevant links

First you need to install the Java runtime environment
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
download the appropriate JRE for your operating system

The client can be downloaded here
http://home.austin.rr.com/javabbowl/
get the latest version AND latest patch (6.0 and 6.8b)

and finally the league page is
http://fumbbl.com
sign up make a team come into the chat and play some games

Also, As I said the Southern Wastes league is an oceanic division requiring about 1 game a week. We're coming to the last few round of this season so we'll be accepting new coaches after that. But you can still just play in the open leagues up till then and what not. I do warn you though it is incredibly addictive. worse than evercrack,

yeh

fumbbl really rocks (i beat ripne1 in a southern wastes game on the weekend, giggle) lots of fun, games are almost always done in about an hour and a half or less (sometimes more if your opponent is annoying)

good practice for the real thing, though you do need to play on the board to remember to apply all the rules that the client does automatically for you!

Howdy gents.

I hail from Sydney myself and just joined the NAF too.

I'm a member on FUMBBL as well and play in the SWL.

Hoping to make a return to the tables at MOAB later this year, or earlier if any local tournaments are being run.

Cheers.
