See you at Deathbowl, oh and convince the girl to come so i can show her a few moves on the dance floor.

Right - it's straight-up LRB 4.0 yes?

So that means vamps and ogres, and big guys loosing general skills and all reroll usage, chaos dorfs more expensive rerolls, and more expensive mummies across the board? Oh and the new kickoff table results! And maybe we can use the IP rule now that it's a reroll loser/gainer... What else? (No gobbo secret weapons yet - prolly another year or two.)

Woot! Can't wait!

To all Canadians going....let's all do a Team Canada theme for this tourney. This was an idea Anthony had for the BB last May, but as him and I were the only Canucks going, it never happened. The idea is to have a Team Canada identity by modifying Team Canada jerseys for use in any non-Canadian tourney. Get a white '70s Team Canada jersey (can remember which year, but the one with the half maple leaf cut on a slant, with CANADA written on the slant) and have your username and NAF number put on the back. The ideas was also to put the NAF Canada logo (like Anthony's avatar) on the shoulders of the jersey (if you had a high-res image of the logo, you could get it done at any place that does custom embroidery, etc). The NAF is supposed to be comign out with NAF cloth patches, but don't know when that will be, but doubt it will be in time for this tourney. Anyway , what do you Canucks think? I've already got my jersey with name and number.....it would be great to see more Canadians with the same....would be a great team look.

You don't have to wear it all the time, just show up with it to the tourney, have another t-shirt under it and you can take the jersey off when playing. Anyway, just an idea.

Well I can't make the Florida tourney, but I'd still be interested in doing the jersey. I remember we were supposed to do the same last year with the CDN BB website. But that died along with the website.

So my jersey would be ......

----------------------------2854---------------------------

I'd wear it to all tournies, I may be going to GEN CON so sure.

Anyone interested in doing the jersey would have to do it themselves like I did (buy the jersey and get the name and numbers put on), as far as the NAF patch is concerned, OMM said there were going to be some made, but didn't specify when (I have PMed him on the subject so we may know sometime in the near future). Guys-
Unless I'm mistaken, the jersey you're talking about was from sometime in the 80's. '85 or '87 maybe...I think that's when Lemieux and Gretzky played together...I vaguely remember Bossy or Tonelli from the Islanders making an impact during that year's Canada Cup.

Anyway...I sure miss Hockey. Sad

EDIT: I just poked around the net a little bit...The one I am thinking of was the 1984 Canada Cup. Tonelli was the tournement MVP.

I don't think we all need the exact same jersey, as long as it's a team Canada one should be fine.

Which one are you talking about? Anyway this one was chosen as it doesn't really have any reference to hockey (like the current versions) and the older versions of this one has CANADA on the back so you can't put your name on it.

Yeah, well, you... you ... Confused

You caught me by surprise with your werewolves! Crying or Very sad We'd never heard of the dam things down here... In the sticks like we are. Lizardmen, sure. Skaven, Orcs (of corks) and even the occaisional elf and dwarf.

But THEN you and all you other furrners show up with your high-falutin' weres and mummies and such... Just aint FAIR I tell ya...

But now (as I drag myself out of redneck/hick mode), we're ready for you (all).

We took on 4 hurricanes last summer (well, three and near miss). Now we're facing REALLY cold temperatures (Down to nearly 28F last week! Shocked For almost an entire hour! )

So you guys can start making reservations, I've blocked a small group of suites at the Comfort Inn - UCF in Orlando. It's about 2.5 miles from the venue, has three beds per suite and is $79USD per night so when shared makes things pretty reasonable...

I'll have more details in an email to registered coaches in a day or so, and on the News page of the website: www.floridabloodbowl.com

Look forward to everyone coming around - only a month or so away now!

Attention all coaches:

Sorry for the inconvenience but I have had router problems for the past several days which has prevented any updates to the TKC website... I should have this repaired by this evening but in the meantime, here is some information for those who need it:

a. The official hotel will be the Days Inn - Colonial Dr. in Orlando and I have booked eight suites that sleep three each with kitchens in my name - please let me know in the next two weeks if you would like one of these rooms. Please get all your friends together and I encourage everyone to be open to sharing a room with fellow coaches if we need it. The cost is $79USD per night and is about 2 miles from the Sci-Fi City venue;

b. I have the PayPal button all ready - once I can load the new pages! If you would like to pay your registration fee now, you can PayPal to my email address: jlanier@tampabay.rr.com. The PayPal setup can also accept Mastercard and Visa and the fee is $30.00 for NAF, $35.00 for non-NAF coaches.

Hope this helps - I'm getting started on trophies and prizes so as they evolve, I will post some hopefully enticing pics...

Again... sorry for the hassle and I am looking forward to seeing everyone in FLA soon!

Welcome to your local guide to East Central Lustria! As a long-time resident of the area (I live about a mile east of the Days Inn hotel), I???d like to take this opportunity to waste some time that I should be using to paint up the rest of my team ??? oh, and to highlight some of the dining and drinking options of the ???hood. Smile

As you can see, the host Hotel is located on East S.R. 50 (also called Colonial Drive, John Cheney Hwy, and the 12th deadliest road in America???)

EDIT:
Question I hope this is the right hotel Question There's another Day's Inn on West Colonial/50... But that's further away, methinks... OMM?
/EDIT

The Days Inn is at the very point of the red check mark on the map. In reality, it???s just West of Alafaya Trail (aka 434) - the big sign was blown down in one of the hurricanes, but a smaller sign is in place. It???s the two story pink building just past the Ramada (if you???re coming from Alafaya???)

In the area are a number of dining and drinking establishments, as the University of Central Florida is just down the road (#7 is pointing the way on the map). Some examples are:

1: A shopping center, with a Publix supermarket on the East end, and a BlockBuster on the West End. Somewhere in the middle is a popular college Irish Sports pub called Devaney???s. Friday is Ladies night and Saturday is Karoke night! Shocked Just past/in front of the shopping center on the same side of the street is a KFC, a Denny???s, a Steak and Shake, and a Chili???s, plus one or two others that kinda blend in so I can???t remember??? Also, just north of here on Alafaya (just before Challenger Pkwy on the right) you???ll find Bubbalou's Bodacious Bar-B-Q ??? very good! Trophy

2: On the corner of Alafaya and 50, practically across the street from the hotel you???ll find a Wendy???s, and a couple other restaurants in the shopping center there. There???s also a Calico Jacks, for anyone wanting some oysters (I hear they have drinks there too???) Also a Dunkin??? Donuts Trophy on Alafaya, just around the corner if anyone wants a tasty breakfast treat. And how could I forget: Trophy Fratello???s is in here somewhere (we always get our pizza delivered from them, so I don???t know exactly where the store is) Great pizza and wings too ??? call 407-737-7775 for delivery.

3: Across from Devaney???s et al, there are a few more restaurant choices, such as Trophy Checkers, Pollo Tropical, Olive Garden, and I think a couple more. (Weird how you can drive by a place every day and not remember exactly what???s there???)

4: The Big Kazoo: Waterford Lakes Shopping Metropolis ??? Best Buy, Super Target, and many other stores ??? plus some pretty good (and not so good) restaurants: Red Lobster, Trophy California Pizza Kitchen, Trophy Too Jay???s Deli (GREAT sandwiches), Johnny Rockets, Macaroni Grill, and several others (I know there???s a Thai place that I haven???t tried, and some chain BBQ or steak place like Longhorn, and a Subway???)

5: Just past Waterford, there???s a slightly hidden shopping center (another Publix), that I mention only because my son works at Trophy Gator???s Dockside there??? Good wings, drink specials, and lots of sports on lots of TVs???

6: Great Chinese restaurant on the corner of Hwy 50 and Dean, called Trophy Ta Tungs. Cheesy plastic atmosphere in a converted DQ, but really good food and big portions. Get some to take back to the room!

7: Just north of the map, you???ll come to UCF and University Blvd. Turn left on University and you???ll find pretty much every other restaurant chain ever invented??? Hops is my favorite ??? good craft brewed beers and a decent steak. If you???re feeling adventurous, continue on down University (about 5.5 miles) to Goldenrod Rd. On the corner to your left there???s a Winn Dixie shopping center with a good liquor store (there???s others closer, but this is the one I like) AND the best Tex Mex restaurant in Florida: Trophy Tijuana Flats. Also, across the street is a Sonic Drive-In.

8: Just for completion???s sake, around the corner on Lake Underhill there???s a few more restaurants??? Ummm??? Boston Market, and some others (I never make it much past Waterford Lakes, except to go to Lowe???s which is over here too???)

There???s lots more??? If you don???t see something you???re looking for here, find me and ask!

Okay, Two dozen days to go. Back to painting??? Very Happy

I had already contacted Skummy and Ken about sharing a room and they said they already had 4 people sharing their room so if I wanted to I'd have to sleep on the floor. I'll be sending a list over to the hotel with instruction on how to handle, so you should have no problems checking in yourself after you arrive... Louis, Yohann, Steve and I should be arriving in the party mobile (rented so I can drive as reckless as I want...) sometime that afternoon. Send me your flight schedule (and sorry if you did already) - I'll try to have someone there to pick you up...

See ya in a week!

There is a fairly direct route, avoiding most tolls and the traffic shouldn't be bad on the weekend (on weekdays, fuggidaboudit - it'll take you an hour to drive 8 miles Shocked )

1) Take Sandlake Road east from the Florida Mall. It crosses Orange Ave and becomes McCoy Rd (just keep going)

2) You will come to an on-ramp for 528 (The Beeline) eastbound. Take it and you will shortly encounter a 75 cent toll plaza - stay to the right.

3) Follow the signs to SR 436 (Semoran Blvd) north. (It's the same exit as the airport, but you veer to the left instead of the right, after you exit to the right. Shocked Just follow the signs, it's easy. Smile )

4) Stay on 436 North for a long time.... (okay, only about 6-7 miles - weekdays it seems 10 times as long)

(LANDMARK: You will pass under the 408 / East-West Expressway after about 5 miles - keep going. )

5) You will come to SR 50 / Colonial Blvd in another mile or so.

6) Turn Right (east) and the Home Depot shopping center with SciFi City is about a 1/4 mile ahead on the right!

----------------------------------

Slightly more complicated, but avoiding the toll altogether, replace #2 and #3 above with:

2) Continue on McCoy Rd until it ends at Tradeport Dr. (only another mile or two)

2 1/3) Turn left on Tradeport, stay in the right lane. After about a 1/4 mile, turn right onto Frontage Rd.

2 2/3) Frontage Rd - follow this until you reach 436/Semoran. (It curves around a bit for a mile or so, but you will get a scenic view of the toll plaza you're avoiding somewhere in the middle Smile )

3) Turn left on 436/Semoran and continue with #4 above.

Hope this helps! No need for payment Mr. Green Just bring something from Mrs. Fields Cookies or Auntie Annes Pretzels... Wink
redjack - Mar 07, 2005 - 12:06 PM
Post subject:
Oops - forgot to mention - on Friday, to get to the host hotel / Devaneys Pub, DO NOT take Semoran to 50! Yikes! Traffic will be at it's worst!

Instead, follow #1 and #2 in the first set of instructions above, then stay on the Beeline. You'll come to 417 toll road.

3) Take 417 north (going thru one .50 toll), until you come to 408/East-West Expressway

4) Take the 408 East, (another .50 toll) and you'll come to the Alafaya Blvd. exit.

(side note - Take the 408 West from here and you'll come to 436/Semoran Blvd - pick up from LANDMARK in instructions above to get to the venue)

5) Take a left on Alafaya (north) and you'll come to SR 50 after a mile or so.

6) Host hotel is left on 50. Devaneys Pub is just across 50 on the right (in the shopping plaza.)

This is so cool Smile I drive this route every day back from work Mr. Green

Believe it was a local florida coach ?Dio? who came in second, losing to Longshot in final after failing a GFI to win on turn8 of second half. OT didn't look good for Dio after the player trying to win CAS'd themself. I believe I saw 5-6 in the Injury box and some in the KO box at begin of OT kicking...

I have Snots to thank for the TD mark. His Orges joy of throwing skull/skulbang rerolled to double skulls. (happened at least 2 times and perhaps a 3rd) That allowed my pro elves to survive an score and score and score.

LouisX helped Skummy win the CAS trophy when he beat Skummy's undead 4-2 with Skaven, but Skummy racked up 8 CAS by blocking in that game.

Woaw!!!

I am just getting in after another lost Blood Bowl weekend. The long trek to and from TKC2 has left me exahausted, but very excited.

My 1-3-1 record is pretty concistant with my previous tourney performances...but thanks to OldManMonkey and to an excellent and varied group of coaches from around the world...I am getting smashed by a whole new class of coach. Smile

It was great to meet, and lose, to all of you...but you should know that I'll be back!!! Smile

Special Thanks go out to Jim and Rita for organizing and hosting an awesome tourney...to gken1 and Skummy for enduring hours of endless prattle while hauling my sizeable girth down to FLA...to my opponents in order and outcome (As I can best remember it in my current haze Rolling Eyes )

Dio: 3-2 Loss (Winning Norse TD in the Blizzard pushing it down the field.)

OMM: 2-0 Win (Thanks to many distractions, TO Duties, and three failed
GFIs with his SureFeet BullCentaurs in the first 5 turns.)

Longshot: 2-1 Loss to the #1 NAF coach in the world. (He picks up the ball approx four squares from his own endzone and scores in one turn. Yohan, thanks for the lesson and showing me that anything is possible. Smile )

Snotsandgrots: 1-1 Tie. (Possibly the World's smartest Ogres, and certainly one of the funnest (Is that a word) coaches you can meet or play on the circuit.)

Paul: 3-1 Loss. (This vicious Undead Team pummled my team into the pitch. And no I am not talking about the Mummies or the Wights, no...not even the Zombies or the Skellies...I am talking about the Ghoul who killed my Rat Ogre on turn 2 or 3 of the first half.) YES, I had an apoth...he was already used by that point on a BH GutterRunner!!! Yes, by Turn 3....needless to say it went downhill from there. Smile

Thanks also goes out to Torg for being my roomie for this great tourney...and to everyone else who made this a great weekend.

::whew::

Now I'm off to lick my wounds, get some rest...and try to prepare for the Challange of Q'ermitt!!

Just chiming in to agree with everyone that this was a great tourney..lots and lots of fun to be had Smile Great people to meet and some pretty good bloodbowl played.

My dwarves didn't really show up to play until Sunday tho..losing all three games on Saturday. I'm going to blame it on positioning...as I played from the 'red' EZ on Sunday and that is the 'Evil' side...and dwarves are NOT evil..really they aren't Wink Sunday, I switched to the 'Blue' end, and won both games handily

Game 1 vs a Norse team (patrick I think)..and I lost 3-1 in the casualty column (as well as going down 1-0 in TD's) It was fun to play tho.

Game 2 vs Torg's Chaos Dwarves, where neither team could get anything other than a stun (even the KO's got turned into stuns thanks to Thick Skull). He did win 2-0 mainly on the strength of his BC's only needing to use Sure Feet ONCE in the game (turn 6 of the 2nd half btw)...even tho the 2nd half was played in a blizzard.

Game 3 vs Undead (I'm horrible rememberint names..)..Dirty Steve, the Zombie with DP kills a blitzer on turn 1 via a foul (luckily I had an apothecary), and that is the last casualty the Undead cause the whole game. Depite this, I lose 1-0..with a valiant attempt to tie the game coming up just a bit short on turn 8.

Then sunday came, and it was a different day for the dwarves of KAMU Smile
Game 4 saw me on the next to last table facing an Ogre team...and I showed them how to score TD's, winnign handily 4-1. Their lone TD came on a TTM pass on the last turn of the game when I kicked it way out of bounds to 'help 'em out' some Smile

game 5 saw the perfect match up for my dwarves..playing vs. the lone Goblin team (coached by tucker i think). Very nicely painted goblin team (I really liked the basies), but that did not help them much as all, as I rolled over them 3-0 (and 5-0 in casualties)

Final rankings put me smack dab in the middle of the pack..#13 in a 26 coach tourney (it was a 4-way tie for 13th place, btw).

Hopefully, I'll be able to make it again next year, as it was a lot of fun...

I will try to get back to my house in the next several days and get the results posted... Wasn't going to say anything but you guys deserve an answer.... I am not normally this remiss in my internet work but it just seems like there haven't been enough hours in the day, with sister dislocated to the Navy and now this....

Sorry to hear about your father Jim Sad He'll be in my prayers, and if his son's on pitch tenacity is any indication, he'll beat both of them into the ground and foul them to boot!

If there's anything I can do to help (i.e. Getting all the tourney data loaded for you) just let me know.

If it's in paper form you could either fax it or send it via snail mail and if it's electronic just fire it off to fosseyfamily@charter.net or melifaxis@yahoo.com.

Hang in there!

Maybe there's a better way to do it to cut down on the size. I'll modify my spreadsheet so that it meets your scoring system if it helps. The Brouhaha results are about 117 KB.

Then you just need to enter the Coach Names, NAF ID's, Race, and Team Names, and Painting Points on the first page. It will automatically copy that data over to the next pages. Then you'd just have to enter Table Number, TDF, TDA, CASF, CASA for everyone and the rest will calculate by the formulas.

Just let me know, it would be very easy and I'm happy to do it.

If you can even just get one clean printout, you'll be able to enter the initial info onto the first worksheet and then just five things for each coach for all the rounds Smile

Working on the edits now
Melifaxis - Jun 29, 2005 - 10:24 PM
Post subject:
Ok, I finished it. Even added drop downs for the race to save typing.

On the sheet call "Three Kingdoms Challenge" you need to enter:
Coach Name
NAF ID
Race (Using Drop Downs)
Team Name
Painting Points

The next five viewable sheets (dont mess with the hidden columns or sheets) are called "Round One", "Round Two", etc. You will need to enter:
Table Number
TDF (Touch Downs For)
TDA
CASF
CASA
Sportsmanship Points

The rest will calculate/populate automatically. When you open the sheet you will see that all coaches have 200 points, dont worry about it. That's just because all results look like 0-0 ties with 0-0 casualties before you put the data in.

So, you just need to enter 140 values on the main page and then 168 values on each of pages 2-6 and you'll have it all ready to roll.

Hope it helps Very Happy

I have reservations with the local city recreation center here in North Tampa about the use of one of their buildings for the weekend... met with the dept. director - longtime friend - and unless their renovations begin during that time, I've been guranteed the space for March 18 and 19... kitchen and privacy so we adults can drink our beer in peace

Next step will be to work out a hotel block nearby and have a backup space at the hotel in case the building isn't available... will begin work on this after the Deathbowl.

Website updates will begin around that time as well - everything will be much closer together and I believe more fun, with day passes to Busch Gardens for attendees and I guess the now-obligatory visit to the Castle... all around, more convenient for all, not to mention easier on me and Rita and Phil....
