TBB is just getting underway. I would say wait a while for that one and then and see if we can get some of the new dwarves from GW. Very Happy

TBB is looking like D. Elf. And I'd like to be in on the NAF one too.

I think Mel is right, lets wait a bit due to TBB and it would be rather cool if we could get a dwarf team from GW Cool
At least I would like to participate anyway.

dwarves would be cool - but to be honest im not really that bothered, although dwarves are harder to convert poses than other races because they are short and stumpy.

I also would like to become a part of the 2006 team. What do i have to do to become a member?

I think the answer to that is what you just did! Smile

btw nice avatar antipixi - hobgoblin is my favourite beer! i have 2 t-shirts so far and i have the bottlecaps to get another 2 on the cheap Smile
antipixi - Mar 24, 2006 - 07:47 AM
Post subject:
I tend to drink enough for a t-shirt and then "accidently" loose them, so that I have to drink more to get one! Wink I have, however, had and lost 8 t-shirts and currently have another 1 and about 20 bottletops in my kitchen draw, where I lost them! Razz I love hobbody-goblin as my other half calls it. Whatever you do, DO NOT DRINK IT FROM A CAN! THAT IS JUST WRONG!!!!! Evil or Very Mad

Back to the point:

TBB are definitely doing dark elves, so can we pick a race to do? I have a strange enthusiasm toward painting and converting at the moment and don't want to waste this unusual feeling!

Apparently when my mam used to work in a pub they had it on tap, although that was nearly 20 years ago - shame. Have you tried the goliath? Bigger bottle buts the brews not as good . . . .

talking about hobgoblin we could always do a chaos dwarf team
antipixi - Mar 25, 2006 - 03:35 AM
Post subject:
There's a wiychwood pub in the town where I live. They have it on tap there and most of the brewery's other beers. So goliath, etc all tried and enjoyed, but hobgoblin they ain't!

And I would support doing a chaos dwarf team! I never painted any of them.

damn you im jealous where im from the only ale you can get is newcastle brown, not that im complaining i like it . . . . (me is considering sending girlfriend to asda to pick up more hobgoblins)

Also, ive never painted a chaos dwarf or a hobgoblin before so im sure it would be a good laugh!

I'd be willing to organize the Legacy team, if no one else wants to take over. I organized the first TBB and BBOWL-L legacy teams.

Milo, I say lets do this thing

I have been looking at the completed Dark Elf team on TBB and am jealous that I was too late to participate.

First thing we need to decide is the team

I've heard Dwarf and Chaos Dwarf as posibilities

I'm already working on Chaos Dwarves for my own team right now, so I vote dwarf

then we need to decide team colors, and lastly who's participating

let's shoot for getting everything to Milo by christmas

I want to hear your votes
Milo - Aug 17, 2006 - 07:38 PM
Post subject:
First of all, what races HAVEN'T been done before by the BBOWL-L, TBB and NAF legacy teams? I can remember Chaos, Skaven, Lizardmen, Goblin and I think Dark Elves have been done. Anything else? We should shoot for something new. Are Norse and Orcs still on the table? Either would give lots of room for conversions.
Tojurub - Aug 18, 2006 - 12:44 AM
Post subject:
Norse were done by the NAF in 2004
howlinggriffon - Aug 18, 2006 - 01:34 AM
Post subject:
Why not set up a poll?

I'll help - I contributed to the 2004 Norse team. Spending a few hours on one model is no problem.
nyarlathotep - Aug 18, 2006 - 07:06 AM
Post subject:
I'll say again that I'll paint a model. I also vote dwarf. I have a dwarf team right now, and I'll contribute my own model (Grim Ironjaw.) I've been meaning to try out slayer tattoos anyway.
Temujin71 - Aug 18, 2006 - 11:49 AM
Post subject:
here's the info I could find (and in some cases translate) about past legecy teams

Chaos (TBB 04)
Dark Elf (TBB 06)
Goblin (Spanish 04, TBB 03)
Human (Spanish 06, NBA 05)
Lizardmen (NAF 05)
Necromantic (NBA 04)
Norse (NAF 04)
Orc (FBB 04)
Skaven (TBB 05)
Vampire (NAF 03)

that leaves
Amazon
Chaos Dwarf
Dwarf
Halfling
High Elf
Khemri
Nurgle's Rotters
Ogre
Pro Elf
Undead
Wood Elf

should that be what we poll on?
Milo - Aug 18, 2006 - 12:29 PM
Post subject:
I've created a poll for all the options in a separate post. Personally, I think the following would offer the most options for conversion/personality: Amazon, Nurgle's Rotters, Ogre. Since each person does just one model, frequently they want to spend some time on it and really make something unique, so a chance to make miniatures more than just "Dwarf Lineman #5" is a bonus in my book.

Hey Guys! Been a long time... I would love to contribute on this one for sure. I have not done a legacy since the vampire team the inaugural year, but I'm game.
Temujin71 - Aug 23, 2006 - 10:55 AM
Post subject:
looks like Nurgle is winning the poll

we'll need to start looking at team colors and such

Nurgle colors are what typically?
Green and Purple?

mardi gras colors are close to that, just add gold

we could use NAF colors Red White and Black

misanthrope showed me a completely monochrome mini in the new White Dwarf, very cool

anyone else have any color ideas
Milo - Aug 23, 2006 - 11:28 AM
Post subject:
Green and purple are the classic Nurgle colors, although NAF colors would be fine with me, also. We can have a separate poll for that once it's been decided on the race. Any other suggestions?

Any colors are fine with me.
howlinggriffon - Aug 23, 2006 - 04:21 PM
Post subject:
Dwarves could catch up with a bit of effort still - let's see which race wins first and then do another poll for colours.

One other question - last NAF team I painted a model for, the team was a freebie gift to NAF from Andy Hall. Are we going to be cheeky and ask him again or will we be buying the models ourselves this time? I don't mind buying a model but, well , free models... It can't hurt to ask, can it? Wink
aerofool - Aug 23, 2006 - 05:33 PM
Post subject:
I think diff shades of greens and browns if we go with Nurgle. I personally think Nurgle will be better for us because it gives the opportunity for some creative converting. Maybe it's time we shut the poll down, say it's Nurgle and begin discussing colors.
Xtreme - Aug 23, 2006 - 08:48 PM

If its decided to do Nurgles, please count me in. Nurgles are always fun to paint.
Milo - Aug 24, 2006 - 07:57 AM
Post subject:
Let's hold off on ending the vote -- it's due to end tomorrow anyways, so I don't see that it's worth doing it a day early.

I've got a sealed Nurgle's Rotters team and I'm trying to acquire another, so I'll have some spare minis to share if necessary, but I think the "everyone contributes their own" plan would be best. It'll also allow for more variety and conversion if we do that.

Does anyone have a spare Bilerot Vomitflesh 2nd Ed mini?

I have one. Don't know that I would call it a "spare"......

But it's for a good cause, so if you want it, you can count me in.
Milo - Aug 24, 2006 - 11:29 AM
Post subject:
I just thought it would be nice to include it, since it's the only 2nd Ed. mini that really fits into the Rotter theme, and as I remember it, the Rotter box set only comes with three of the four Rotters the team needs.

inder LRB5 there are:
0-16 Rotters
0-4 Pestigors
0-4 Nurgle Warriors
0-1 Beast of Nurgle

which I think is much cooler than a chaos team with rotters instead of chaos warriors and a beast of nurgle that gives you a 110k gp player for free if you kill someone

a friend of mine uses the rotter minis as Nurgle Warriors, he uses 4 of the beastmen that he originally painted, and he's working on a box of zombies to use as the rotters now that they made to be squishy versions of the zombies

...There are so many fun conversion ideas with a Nurgle team... bloated pus-bags, tentacled abominations, maggot-ridden filth...

Oh, the horror!

A Nurgle team does sound kind of fun... I mean, really, how often does one get to use or read the phrase "tentacled abomination"

While I will be the first to admit that the monochrome emperor's champion was one of the coolest things I've ever seen (and I will absolutely steal the idea for my Shadow Warriors warband), I think traditional Nurgle colors would be best... something reminiscent of open sores, bleeding orifii, and rotting flesh.

And now, back to my bagel.
Milo - Aug 25, 2006 - 09:36 AM
Post subject:
Mmmmm.... bleeding orifii. (Insert Homer Simpson noises here.)

Sorry, just trying to get into the Chaos spirit. I think it's pretty clear that we'll be doing Nurgle at this point. I'll start another thread with a list of people who said they were interested, a list of positions, and some pictures of possible color schemes soon.

I may even still have some of the old Citadel Colour "Tentacle Pink"! Woot!

No, no, Slaanesh would be the OTHER old pinks, like Titillating and Nipple.
misanthrope09 - Aug 25, 2006 - 02:42 PM
Post subject:
Nipple pink? Titillating pink? I must have missed those paint colors... I'd do a google search, but I'm afraid of the kind of results I'd get.
aerofool - Aug 26, 2006 - 12:29 PM
Post subject:
I don't think Pink was ever a nurgle color. Pink is for Slaanesh and Tzeentch. The current Nurgle schemes I've seen are browns, greens, yellows (especially brownish tinted yellows), and rust-colors. Colors you would see on a rotting corpse or in someones septic tank. That's what comes to mind when I think of Nurgle.
