North America - East Coast Blood Bowl Grand Prix: 2011 Current Standings

Rando - Mar 07, 2011 - 12:12 PM
Post subject: East Coast Blood Bowl Grand Prix: 2011 Current Standings
If you would like your tournament posted here simply send me the final standings! The rankings and bragging begin now! (retroactive to January 1st, 2011).

The rules will follow the West Coast Grand Prix rules, as created by ZootSuitJEff.

1st Place: 10 pt
2nd Place: 8 pt
3rd Place: 6 pt
4th Place: 5 pt
5th Place: 4 pt
6th Place: 3 pt
7th Place: 2 pt
8th Place or Lower: 1 pt

For a tournament to qualify it must be an open, NAF sanctioned tournament, one or two days with at least ten entrants to gain full points. If a qualifying tournament has less than 10 entrants, the total points given for that tournament may be reduced accordingly.

To contribute to Zootsuitjeff's project to create a West Coast Grand Prix Circuit I will be tracking all East Coast tournaments and posting the standings here in this thread. Alkaline13 is tracking the Mid-West or Zlurpcast series. It's an exciting new dimension to add to the scene without changing the way we do, or run, tournaments! A midwest circuit has recently been created an so I have omitted those tournaments from this list. If you want your tournament listed here just drop me line.

Hi Glamdryn,

Never fear, these did not go unnoticed, Force Commander and I are in touch and he will get the standings to me when he gets a chance and I will then add the points in. I've got my eye out for the Winter Fouling results too.

Lizardcore - Jun 19, 2011 - 05:26 PM
Post subject: RE: East Coast Blood Bowl Grand Prix Circuit
I dont were you got the Orion results, but looks like there are some mistakes.

i.e. I won the Orion, the CO and the CKKO, so I guess my points are 30. But I also see David L. in the ranking (1 point), and i think this is also me Very Happy

Wapcaplets was 2nd, then I think it was Kolja_tbbf, then...

thanks anyway for doing that Smile

Does Pete know he needs to do an overall standings for the Lakeside Cup?
Daggers - Aug 10, 2011 - 09:53 AM

Probably not, he hasn't even inputted the games into NAF yet.

Rando,

Are you going to setup a spreadsheet like the one for the West Coast? I can set one up if need be.

Hey glamdryn,

Thanks for the offer. I actually have one going simply to help me keep track. I had thought that there would only be interest in the totals but since there does seem to be some interest I'll get one out there!

I don't know how to convert tha match summaries into an actual standings list. For example, tie breakers for the top two players.

I have asked Meers for a list of the final standings though. When I get it I'll throw it up. I hear it may be awhile with Pete though ...

Ya do you like the sound of that? We will never hear the end of this ...

The CCKO seems like a perfect time to award the winner and pump everyone for the next season!

Added the latest tournament ... uh ... it's a tie?

I'll need to think on this one.
Clan_Skaven - Dec 05, 2011 - 12:05 AM

Some tie breakers ideas

1: Who had the highest tourney score in a single tourney, example player "A" had 10 for highest, player "B" also had 10, player "A" 2nd best was 9, player "B" 2nd best was 7......

Player "A" wins tie breaker.

2: Who played in less Tourneys to get that score points/per tourney persentage . example player "A" had 55 points in 9 tourneys and player "B" had the same 55 points but in only 6 tourneys , then player "B" would win tie breaker based on his tourney point percentage was greater.

in fact i'd suggest your best bet would be use method 2 as the 1st tie breaker and if its still tied [as in they both played in same number of tourneys] then you use method 1 .

hope that helps.

I was going to say whoever won more tournaments, but its similar to Rod's example. So either would work.

The inaugural season of the East Coast GP has two champions! Congratulations toLizardcore and Zap both.

In the absence of any predefined tie breakers, and in the interest of keeping this a fun way to encourage tournaments, there will be no tie breakers. We'll let them duke it out next season amongst themselves is they want something more definite.

Will anyone top 40 points in 2012??

Special thanks to all organizers for contributing and making this possible. See you next year at the CCKO!

Great decision Wink

Mark deserves it because he sat out at one tournament (which would have gave him the title). I'm very honored to share this price with him!

Good job Rando on taking care of all this, I think it's a great initiative !

Anyway, let's start it all over again !

Now if someone could build a trophy that had a part of it from each tourny, like a portal from challenge of Q in an eye socket of the skull from Death Bowl, behind that a chunk of Warpstone with the Dagger from dagger bowl imbeded in it plus all the others....
Yes I know it will never be built & besides would be ugly as hell, Wink

but i'm bored & ya.

The celebration will be at the CCKO, what better way to "kick off" the season!

I was trying to come up with a way to post the 2011 standings on the wall somehow ... I'll keep working on it. Ideas anyone?

Here is the East Coast version Glamdryn. As I thought the celebration will take place this weekend at the CCKO, that I host up here in Ottawa, CAN. I'm sure Rando would welcome suggestions for the upcoming year's version.
