Hi Everyone,

The CCKO has been booked for January 28/29th, returning to the Legion at 330 Kent st in Ottawa. Everything is coming along well and I would like to encourage you all to take a look at the comprehensive rules as Mark and I have made a few minor changes to the rules with regards to team building and the timing of matches (taken from the World Cup's timing for matches)

You can click on the link in my Sig at the end of this post to take you to the website and then click on the comprehensive rules to take a look. You can also register your team to let us know you are coming on the website. This would be a great help to us in preparing for numbers.

Looking forward to the upcoming year in Bloodbowl!! and what better way to kick it off than to come to the Capital and bash heads with many of Team Canada's players freshly home from the World Cup II!! Take care everyone and have a safe holiday season Very Happy

Any questions, feel free to ask and one of us will get back to you asap.

The only WC participant I want to bash heads with is Mark H. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING; I EVEN KNOW HUMANS ARE A BAD CHOICE!!!!!

Anyhoo, the website has been updated and please play close attention to the RED TEXT in the Comprehensive Rules.

I will most likely be coming, not to bash WCII contenders, but hear their stories Smile

I'll bring my lame undead team, as I obviously suck with necro Razz

And if I may, could you consider changing the team built to TV110 + X regular skills and Y double skills (where X and Y can be 0 or more) without restrictions on the skill choice. The present format favors some team much more than others (i.e. the lame undead, while dark elves or amazons are F***ED). Of course, if you already thought about that, so be it Smile

Hey Lizardcore,

Would be great if you could attend again this year! Undead are pretty lame though Razz We thought about the skill choices for different teams and although some are limited to either General or Agility skills, the majority have enough skills to choose from that it shouldn't be a problem. In addition they can choose Stat increases to make up for it if they are unhappy with the skills they are left to choose from.

Don't forget also that the skills draft after round 3 allows for free choosing of whatever skills you want (keeping within the 2 max skills per player of course) The whole idea behind this is that if 5 people brought teams of the same race, every team would look somewhat different based on that person's play style/choices ie. you won't end up with Orcs and Dwarves that there rosters look indentical. Hope this helps, anything else just ask.

I think it would be more impressive to win with different teams myself Razz

Alex would be welcome to come...and bring his Norse so I can avenge our previous tie in which he rolled all his KO's back! I'll make sure to injure them permanently this time Twisted Evil Let me know for sure and we can figure out sleeping arrangements no problem. Talk to you soon

Hey, guys. Just a quick question in regards to the team buildings rules... it says:

"No player may receive more than one of the purchased improvements"

Is this meant to convey that, during team building, no player may be given more than one improvement or does it mean that players can't get the same improvement twice (e.g. giving the same player +2 AG)? I'm guessing the former but wanted to make sure.

Thanks.

'xcuse my french, but:
"No player may receive more than one of the purchased improvements and no Team may have more than one particular improvement before the draft."

to me it means both: only 1 guy with each improvement, and nobody with more than 1 improvement.

Hey wapcaplets,

Lizardcore has it right that it means both. Only one improvement per player and no more than one of each skill/improvement per team in the initial team building phase. Once the draft takes place you are allowed a 2 skill max per player with no restrictions on taking the same skills/improvements that your team already has (provided the skill is left to choose from when it is your turn to draft of course Laughing ) The idea behind this was to stick with the theme of the Draft, in that you will have to become creative with your skill choices and less frequently used skills will come into play. It will also allow a little more flexibility in roster builds so that if 4 Orc or Dwarf teams were to show up at the tourney you may see 4 completely different rosters as far as skill selection is concerned (bends to the players playing style, a little more) Hope this helps!

That's great news Patrick! I'm glad you were able to set up an account with both places from the information we passed to you. Look forward to buying many of there products from you as well! I spoke with Alex from Fantasy Fields and he said you had been in contact with him about carrying his fields. I'm really happy to hear this as shipping from them (Italy) would be pricey on single orders. Great to hear!

Glad you will be able to come to CCKO! Should be an awesome time to start the New Year Very Happy Hopefully you can avoid the wooden spoon this time around too! If you receive any products from either Gaspez or Fantasy Fields before CCKO can you let us know (maybe we can get you to bring some with you for us to buy Wink ) Take care my friend, talk to you soon,

Hey, guys. Is there anyone coming back to Toronto (or west) that has room for me in their car? I have a ride to Ottawa with a friend who is going out there to be a vendor at an Anime convention that same weekend. Eric has said that I can go back with him if he comes (which I appreciate) but if there's somebody that's going for sure with an empty seat for the return trip please let me know. Thanks.

Hey Chris, there are two other car's making the trip from that area that I know of. Laurent is coming up with his buddy Alex and I believe Tristan. Also Rob Pharand is coming up from London and may be picking up Craig and Rod from my conversations with him. I'm sure one of them won't mind giving you a ride back if Eric is unable to make the trip. Of course you would need to speak with them to confirm but that is the info I have thus far.

This was the most closely contested CCKO that I have witnessed to date! The results were continually fluctuating but remained close right to the end. We had to go to the 4th tie breaker in the end to determine a winner! Will post the overall standings, winners of the awards and some of the underlying story behind the winners. P.S. I am just busting your balls; but it is still BS!!

Thought you had it handsdown Eric seeing as you got the spoon last year! Upon further review though, Spazz did increase his standing at the CCKO 1 more spot than you from last year's ranking. Hell even if the 2 of you had tied you would have received the award based on the fact that you received the spoon the previous year. You should be proud of the ranking regardless man as we had some heavy hitters at this year's tourney Wink

I know that I was 7th place, so maybe Leathan was 6th. Also, you forgot the most important award - the "Underdog" award. I climbed 10 positions from my dismal performance last year to get the most improved player award! Very Happy

I am calling BS on your award!! I have not had this good a record since 2006!!! 6 years!!!!

Not too mention I did it with the same team I took last year where I went 0-1-5!!! BAH!! I should have listened to Daggers!!!!!

P.S. I am just busting your balls; but it is still BS!!

You should make an award for the person who did the opposite from the year before.... call it something like the Big Choke Award or something. Laughing

Pardon!!! I am not called Spoon-Boy for no reason!!! We will see who comes in last place this year!!! Very Happy

Thought the reason you were called spoon boy was more to do with the fact you liked to spoon the 1st to pass out on the Friday night. Laughing

Sorry I got this post confused with the CCKO, clearly it was meant for the upcoming "Fagger Bowl"

While helping Lizardcore prepare for the CO I looked at the tourney historical stats and realized Ben made an error in inputing the stats for the 2006 CO. What that means is that this years CCKO has been my best tourney EVER!!!

RAGE Increasing!!!!!!! Mad

Is there already a date for CCKO 2013? So that potential attendees can already mentally prepare their partners/spouses/probation officers?
