Always the craziest stories coming from this tourney - and most of them revolving around those cabins!

Rod, are you aware that you scheduled this on the same day as the Spike. If I decide I can't afford to go to the Spike (which I really want to go to), I will end up at yours. Right now, it looks like I am not going to afford the $600 ticket but you never know what might come up.

Yes I am. I believed I addressed that earlier. Since you won't give, I will be the better man.

I know it's difficult to schedule your tourneys up there with all the events going on every month. If there are any BBers in the Windsor area that would be a great place. Its only about 3 hours from here.

Rod, after talking with my BB partner Chris, we will be coming to your tourney this year instead of the Spike. It will be a lot cheaper, and a lot shorter on our time. So you can add 2 from the states.

I just looked. It was last year and you were playing dwarves. I try to block out all my losses as much as possbile so I will keep coming to these tournaments. Once I realize what a crappy player I am I will stop playing.

If you guys could ease up on the orcs some that would be nice. I played 3 orc teams this year at the CO.

It will be nice to come to Rod's tourney after not making it last year. I was looking forward to it but I think there was a scheduling problem with something else.

As I stated previously Uber Monkey treated my team like they were his Bi**h!! during that game...think he caused 4 CAS by himself. Then again my Norse were apparently everyone's bi**h at Lakeside as I played most of my games with 5 or 6 players. My Captain being the one exception as Tristan can attest to Razz. Guess the "Glass Jaw" award explains it...although at least I didn't lose any games on a positive note.

Will most likely still have to rent a car/van but it is possible Glenn and Alex may come. Need to talk more with him but he was mentioning staying an extra couple days in Niagara so I don't know how that works for you (Zap) or Pete. It would allow for us not to miss the opening weekend in the NFL and do a few more things while we're there. Everything isn't ironed out yet but increases the possibility of some of us attending for sure. Wanted to speak to you and Pete as well as Glenn to work something out. I can drive down if we rent a vehicle, don't mind.

Hey, guys. There was some talk of this on Facebook but I thought I'd post it here, too.

I've contacted Chessex and I've submitted designs for a custom Really Stupid/Bonehead/Wild Animal dice. One side is going to say "DUH!" in big letters which would correspond to a roll of 1 for any of those rolls. Two of the other sides are going to say "HUH?" in slightly smaller letters to correspond to a roll of 2 or 3 for non-block/blitz actions for Wild Animal and Really Stupid players without adjacent team-mates. The other 3 sides will be blank. I'm going to go with an orange die with light-coloured (likely white) "pips." Fingers crossed, these could be ready for Warpstone. The most I would charge for these would be $5 each. According to Chessex, the minimum order quantity is 10 and ordering that many would cost $43 USD to my door. That's arbitrarily close to $5 once you take into account currency conversion and the fact that I don't want to deal with nickels, dimes, and quarters. Smile

So, assuming I can get these for Warpstone, who wants one?

26-99 dice: $2.25 per die
100-199 dice: $1.80 per die
200-499 dice: $1.50 per die
500+ dice: $1.26 per die

So order lots and they're cheaper. It's like FREE MONEY!

Cabins

For anyone who is coming down for the Warpstone Cup and is looking to stay in the infamous cabins, we need to start planning this now in terms of how many cabins we are going to need and getting those reserved now. Ideally, we would like to have them all together so the sooner that we do this, the more likely it is to happen.

Does someone want to take the reins on this? Eric has posted the link to the campsite just a few posts before this one.

Wouldn't it just make sense for people to group up in groups of 3 or 4 and reserve their own cabins?
Lizardcore - Aug 06, 2010 - 11:05 AM

I found that:

Reservation Details
Arrival: September 10, 2010
Departure: September 12, 2010
# of Nights: 2
Number of Adults 2
Number of Children 1

so 3 people for something around 170 dollars with the taxes.

so around 60 bucks per people.

Let's do a non-farty cabin !

Me
Pete
who else ? Smile

Any other plan to stay that might be convenient ?

Edit: actually, thinkingabout it, I will probably work until at least 7pm the friday, so then, given the traffic jams etc I might just come on saturday morning. What about tristan and other players ?

I can also bring a tent and just camp if some people want to share a camp site.

Looks like myself and a number of the other midwest guys are gonna make it to this. I just have a few questions. Some of these may have been answered under the "Comprehensive Rules" link, but that link seems to be dead at the moment.

1. What's the schedule/time info?
2. How many games are there and on which days?
3. On what rounds will you get the random advancments?
4. What's the plan with haveing two teams(TV100/TV110)? and do the two pointed up rosters have to the the same race?
5. Is there any reason that this isn't on the NAF tourney page list?

That's all for now, but i'll likely have more questions.

thanks in advance Smile

Hey Solomon,

Welcome, there are a few from the NY area as well as DarkOrk20 from the Ohio area with a buddy of his going to this tourney. For questions 1 & 3 Clan-Skaven will have to answer for you. The rest I could be of some assistance.

#2. It is pretty much standard for most tourneys in Eastern Canada to be 6 games (4 Sat, 2 Sun). On the rare occasion it is 5 games (3 Sat, 2 Sun).

#4. The 2 teams is basically you play 3 games with each (one on odd # games and the other on even # games). They do not by any means have to be the same race. Most people take drastically different races and it is good for trying new teams in case you really don't like them, at least you only have to play them for 3 games instead of the usual 6.

#5. It should be up on the NAF tourney page shortly as it has been posted just waiting for approval from the powers that be.

Hope this helps, take it easy.

Hey Dan (Taxal), If I make it down there, which is looking like I will, that's not a problem bro. Either way works, if you can make it up to Ottawa between September and October to play/watch some G-men games together cool and if not I'll put them aside until Deathbowl for you.

@wapcaplets, it looks like I'll need 10-15 of those dice if you have enough available. Mark D-2, Dan-5, Myself-1, Mark H-?, Glenn/Alex-2 to 4 I would think. If not I'll take what we can get. Thanks.

Hello!

Adam

The NY area people you are referring to is probably me. I live in Detroit, but I have a vacation home just west of Buffalo. Tom(Darkork20), Chris, Ernie and some other guy are gonna stay at my place by Buffalo for the weekend. I'm trying to talk a few other guys from the detroit area into heading out as well.

Actually we have 2-3 regular guys that come from the Binghamton area in NY. Nathan, Matt, and Andy. Don't know if you know any of them but the more the merrier. I'm sure Clan-Skaven (Rod) will appreciate the support as well. That's awesome if a bunch of you are able to get together and come up for this, should make for good times. If it's easier for you all to head back to Buffalo after each night that's cool. There are Cabins available close to the tourney that pretty much everyone parties at after the event and you guys are more than welcome to go that route if you prefer. Regardless whether you choose to stay there you guys should come back with us after the gaming to chill and have a few drinks with the rest of us. Well take it easy all, see you in a few weeks hopefully.

Hey Laurent,

Don't worry about Pete as we will probably be picking him up on the way to Warpstone and he'll most likely stay with us in a Cabin as we will all be splitting on vehicle, gas, cabin costs. I'm bringing an air matress and Pete has several so I'll see when I talk to him. Take it easy,

I have an "undead" tream, but my Dark elves are still a work in progress. I have some of the old 2 ed GW elves that you (might be) welcome to borrow. I only say "might" because I have not decided on which teams I am bringing yet.

Hey Clan-Skaven, send Lycos or the Tourney Director a PM to ask for the tourney to be approved asap. They are usually pretty good with getting stuff done if they are made aware of the situation. its not listed on the link, but there will be a roll before You play every game. Roll 3d6 if you roll a 13 you get one warpstone token. (skaven & underworld teams can also get one on any triple roll.)

a Warpstone token can be used one of 3 ways.

1) as a RR, roll a d6 if the roll is a 5+ you may use the RR, if the roll is a 2-4 nothing happens & the warpstone token is wasted, & a 1 roll on the injury table for that player (as if he were hit by "throw a rock result") a failed RR attempt will count as Your Team RR for that turn, so only should be usesd this way if you are out of RR's.

2) as a smelling salt for one player, (treat as 1 bloodweisor babe for one player only , not all players) may be combined with one bloodweiser babe, but not two.
but when making the roll if the roll is a 1 before any modifers place the player in the dead & inj. box. (no matter the result, discard after one roll)

3) Bribe Ref. if a secret weapon or fouling player is sent off you may use this as a bribe. roll a d6, on a 4+ the bribe is a success, 1-3 the call stands. (but if the roll was a 1 or a 6 the result stands as stated above, but the Ref is a lil preocupied to with the warpstone to call anymore fouls or secret weapons for the remainder of this drive.

any unused tokens are lost after game, they can not be carried over to next game, so a team may never own more than one token at any given time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

any questions?

link to the rules is not up for some reason, but as anyone who has played in this tourney knows the kick off table is slightly altered. I'll post changes here.

4) WARPSTONED!!! : both coaches roll a d3 (no modifiers to the roll) the lowest roll is affected, both teams if tied. randomize what player (players if tied roll) and that player(s) has had a wee bit too much Warpstone Ale before the match & is in a constant state of vomiting & is very high! He gains the Bone Head trait, No Hands, & Foul Appearance for the remainder of this current drive.

10) BLITZING THE SEAL!!! :Some players may have broken the Seal earlier & now must empty thier bladder into crowd or locker room.
Play as Same rules as normal Blitz, except any player taking an action on the Blitz must roll a D6, on a 2+ they may continue with the action, but on a 1 the must take a Move action that ends with them on a sideline or an endzone . If they can not reach the sideline or endzone for any reason place them in the reserves box.

there will be a secret prize for the 13th TD scored & the 13 CAS scored. (not by one team but by everyone combined.) So it may be Your 1st TD, but if it was the 13th TD of the tourney its a winner.

So please when You score a TD or a CAS to call it out as it happens so i can keep a tally. once I have both, i'll immediately award the prizes. I imagion both will be decided in the 1st round, or 2nd for sure.

Cost of tourney is $20 CDN to save any confusion... (for NAF ranking's there has to be two 3 game tourneys one listed as as Warpstone Cup odd games & other as Warpstone Cup even games. )

I stated the cost was $20 CDN on both, but it's not both added together, it's $20 for whole tourney.

For most people the tourney is over before it even begins. The only one who stands a chance is Shelton the Bridesmaid. But even he will not be able to stand up to the world of hurt that I will be bringing this year!

A dollar coin has a picture of a loon on it, so we started calling them "loonies". Then we came out with the two dollar coin, so those got nicknamed "toonies", I guess more properly it would be twonies, but no-one would know how to pronounce that properly.

Dammit, was really looking forward to this too >_<

I understand how that can happen when trying to convert between Imperial and Metric dates Wink

Great time this weekend!

I am pretty pleased having placed 6th, seeing as those were two new teams for me. Damn you Flanders for robbing me of my rightful victory in our game! Wink

I am REALLY glad that I will now have a ranking with the pro elves so that I can look past them now to getting my ranking with every team.

dammit, i knew i should've given tom the 5 for sportsmanship. i was at least as much of an asshole as he was this weekend and it wouldn't have made a difference to eric.

eric glad you're feelin some love from someone other than dan's mom for once. Smile

thanks to rod & greg for a great tourney, laurent for the drive, chris for the hoodie and everyone else for making it such a blast.

Hey, guys! Rod and Greg used my Flip camera to record some videos. We've got highlights from the Friday night campfire to the awards ceremony after all was said and done. There's a fair amount of "Blair Witch" cinematography but there's some funny stuff in there including the worldwide preview of the DarkOrk20 blow-up doll!

OK, OK... on with the videos!

As long as I was entertaining. Eric you earned that sportsmans award. You were one of the funnest games I have ever had playing blood bowl. ( I won too, that always helps).

@natsirtm - If it makes you feel any better I gave you a 0. I'm still pissed about you disguising Hubris as a runner. (j/k about being pissed. I really did give you a 0 and Rod got a 1. I still haven't forgotten though)

Video coverage was awesome. That thing look more like a camera than recorder. I had a really great time at the tourney and staying with Sol at his place in NY. One of my best weekends in years.

I had a great time as well. I'll make sure I try to plan a trip to our place in new york again next year that coincides with your tourney so we can make it again. If I plan a little farther ahead, we may be able to get some more americans to make it next year.

Hope to see some of you next month at the Orctoberfest. Let me know if anyone needs a place to crash for my tourney.

I am surprised no one has b!tched about the rankings yet . . .

In anycase, if you are wondering about the delay, that is my fault and not the TO's. Should get resolved by the end of the week (i.e. next Sunday)
