Hi there.
It's come to my attention recently that I have adopted Nebraska into my region without actually stating it in my rules.
This got me to looking at all the regions and what states they cover to see if there's any overlap or anything.
According to this, nobody is currently claiming Nebraska, so I will still include these in my tournament for this year. WCGP and I both claim New Mexico, but to my knowledge, there's not been one there so it's not that big a deal.
My main concern is the lack of states covered by regions and the difference in sizes.
I believe that the Northern Central area should have a series to encourage growth. I know that Nebraska is running more than usual and Iowa has at least a couple a year. Not to mention WI, MN and maybe some of the others.
Also, the South East should probably have their own region as well. Alabama runs a few every year and it would only serve to increase the numbers and inclusiveness by having it.
I'm not sure if there should be changes made to other regions, but figured I should bring this up.
Thoughts? |

I think Iowa and Minnesota (and now Wisconsin, as they had a tournament this year) should be in GLAM, but the organizers of that series disagreed strongly. (I realize IA isn't technically on a Great Lake but think they should stick with Minnesota.) There's nothing to stop them forming an Upper Midwest series, though. The main obstacle thus far has been getting someone to run it. I'm also not sure that there are quite enough tournaments to make it worthwhile, but maybe that will pick up.
The Deep South is already seceding, as we discussed a couple of weeks ago. I believe that's Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. The Carolinas will remain in BEAST. Seems like Louisiana would also fit in there, but that's up to you guys. |

I assumed the NAF makes up the region's. I have no doubt the north central area could get someone to run it, if it's created. |

No, it's not determined by the NAF.
Back in 2015, my understanding was that you and Xtreme had decided to split up what had traditionally been the Midwest Tournament Series. |

We did, but it was my understanding that this was under the guidance of the NAF. We said what we wanted and then NAF finalized it.
So, I guess if that's the case, then all that needs to be done is someone in the areas request to be a region. Need some Nebraska/Iowa/etc guys to step up. |

Well, the NAF does have to approve series, so there's a theoretical chance of one being denied for whatever reason. I don't see any issue with what you've described above, though.
Maybe talk to A.J.? He doesn't seem averse to admin stuff. |

I agree, a North Amorical Central HOsting Series (NACHOS) including Saskatchewan and Manitoba and whatever is south of it would be nice to fill that gray gap. |

I second the NACHOS.
Now, if we only knew someone too into Goblin Nachos. But doubt Chance or Drew would want to do it.
Maybe we should post on Facebook for someone to take the mantle if they so desired. |

[funny hat on] I always thought Nachos are something more South.... but Canadian are known to be a bit more excentric |

Yeah, but they're all accounted for. As you say, not a lot going on in the middle of Canada. |

The Deep South now has the VOODOO Tournament Series with Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia included. |

Drew, Chance and I have just started talking about trying to get something put together for the Upper Midwest. We will see if we can pull together enough events and decide on someone to coordinate things!
