Facebook Event is live!
Location has (unfortunately) not changed. Not that it's a bad venue it just doesn't have as much around it as previous venues. I have not been able to secure another venue for anything like a reasonable price.
Hoser Bowl Saturday February 24th – 4 games
50 Mission Cup Sunday February 25th – 3 games.
DATE
February 24 - 25, 2018
Dufferin St. Baptist Church
1219 Dufferin St.
Toronto, On
M6H 4C2
We are playing in the basement.
I am currently considering doing a longer break in between games 2 and 3 for Saturday to allow some time to get down to Bloor St for food and such, but stick with ordering food on Sunday. It likely won't be very nice out so let's have some feedback from those planning to attend.
COMMON ELEMENTS
Swiss-style match-ups after game 1.
* Tournament is resurrection.
* We are following the NAF and Death Zone 2 guidelines. That basically means;
CRP + 3 additional teams + NAF Rules Aug 17 (ie. BB2016 + Deathzone 1 + Deathzone 2 + Teams of Legend (inc. Chaos Pact & Underworld) + NAF Rules Aug 17)
* Tournament points are W/T/L – 60/20/5, along with bonus points identified below with strength of schedule as primary tie-breaker.
* Being that this is the Canadian Open, we will adopt the GW Winter Weather table in order to reflect our unique weather.
* After building your roster, pick a player to be Captain, he gets Leader for free. If you have same Captain both tournaments he also gets Fan Favourite (UNLESS you bring the same race to both tournaments - in that instance he gets "Fan Hated" - gives minus one to FAME)
* Norse teams get 1 Fan Factor at no cost as this is their turf.
* Teams MUST be painted to 3 colour minimum. There will be penalties for unpainted figures or teams at TO discretion.
HOBBY BONUSES
READ CAREFULLY: You may NOT purchase assistant coaches or cheerleaders.
If you have a coach model painted +1 assistant coach
If you have a cheerleader model painted +1 cheerleader (doesn’t need to be female/pom poms)
A “mascot†can replace one or other @ TO discretion
Max of 1 each, except stunties can have 2 each
READ AGAIN: The ONLY way to get an assistant coach or cheerleader is to have a PAINTED model to represent it and it does not cost any gold.
INDUCEMENTS
No inducements may be purchased unless you are the coach of a “Stunty†team. Stunty teams include; Halfling, Goblin, Ogre, Underworld (without Skaven), and Lizardmen (without Saurus) teams. Stunty teams may purchase 0-2 Star Players, but must purchase 11 players before they can purchase any Star Player. Goblin teams may purchase bribes and Halfling teams may purchase a Halfling Master Chef, all as per standard CRP/LRB6.0 rules.
SCORING POINTS
60/20/5 win/draw/loss
TDs beat opponent by 2 or more = 4
CAS beat opponent by 2 or more = 2
Comeback = 2
Pitch Clear = 6
Stunty beats non stunty = 4
Finish all turns within time limit = 1
COST
Individual Event (ie. 1 tournament only) = $20 – NAF Members, $25 – Non-NAF members (with $5 going towards NAF membership sign-up).
This gets you a pair of tournament d6 (Hoser Bowl or 50 Mission Cup dice respectively) and either 4 or 3 games of blood bowl + chance at awards and prizes and the tournament swag.
Dual Events (ie. both tournaments) = $30 – NAF Members, $35 Non-NAF members (with $5 going towards NAF membership sign-up)
This gets you both pairs of tournament d6, 7 games of blood bowl + twice the chance at awards and prizes and the tournament swag.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION
just send appropriate payment via either EMT or Paypal (gift) to thecanadianopen@gmail.com – more at the door.
Please have this submitted by Feb 19th along with your roster(s).
Use this roster please -> http://www.littlearmydesigner.com/bb

I'm considering packing a lunch. There doesn't seem to be anything in the immediate area other than McDorks, and even with a longer break on Saturday I don't think I want to schlep down to Bloor. |

Actually some places have opened up on Geary that may be worth mentioning. The Greater Good, Blood Brothers Brewing. It's not bloor st, but it's only about a 5 min walk north. |

Not to cheapen the tournament, but are cardstock standee's allowed? I've got a team I'm in the process of painting, but I'm worried it won't be ready in time. |

Must use miniatures.. No cardboard BS at my tournaments. If Grant wanted to play Slann again he'd better get painting his JBone team. |
