We have been in debate for some time on the Hail Mary / Diving catch situation.

way 1: Hail mary to square occupied by Diving catch player. Ball bounces 3 times (scatter for inaccurate). First square of scatter, DC player can attempt catch.

way 2: Hail mary to square occupied by DC player. Ball bounces 3 times (scatter for inaccurate). once 3 bounces are done, IF the ball is in the tackle zone of DC player, catch can be attempted.

Please give final clarification on this rule. Thank you.

the 3 D8 rolls are not bounces, it just tells you where the ball will land AFTER all 3 scatter rolls are resolved. THEN the Diving Catch Player can try to catch it.

Visualize it this way, the ball is in the air. and on the way to his final destination the wind will put him slightly off. After the 3 breeze of wind occurred the final landing square has been determined and the ball is height wise close enough to the ground that a player with diving catch can reach it
