Jack’s Bowl returns for the second year!
For participants of JQBBL (Jack’s on Queen Blood Bowl League): any coaches participating in this tournament will be given a boost to their JQBBL Season 5 team.
DATE & LOCATION
March 30, 2019
Jack's on Queen
18 Queen Street West
Elmvale, Ontario
L0L 1P0
Canada
COST
Entry Fee: $15.00
Additionally, you MUST be a NAF member. If you are not you will need to pay an additional $5 fee to sign up ($20.00 total).
SCHEDULE
09:00 – 09:30: Registration / Setup / Trash Talk
09:30 – 11:30: Game 1
11:30 – 12:20: Lunch
12:30 – 14:30: Game 2
14:45 – 16:45: Game 3
17:00: Award Presentation / Wrap Up
TEAM BUILD & INDUCEMENTS
Build a rookie team to 1.0M team value.
We will be using the rules as presented in the 2016 edition of the game including:
- The rules in the box
- The first and second Blood Bowl Almanac (e.g. Deathzone Season 1 & 2, Teams of Legend, the Errata document, the FAQ document, and the first 3 Spike! Journals)
Using the allocated gold you can purchase players, re-rolls, fan factor, assistant coaches, cheerleaders, and an apothecary. Any gold not spent will be lost.
No inducements will be allowed with the following two exceptions: Halflings may roster the Master Chef for 100k and Goblins can roster Bribes for 50k. It is recommended that you use Little Army Designer to build your roster.
SKILL RINGS
Each coach will get 3 skill rings to assign to players before a match.
The skill can change for each match as can the player it is assigned to.
You can know your opponent before making your choice. You cannot know what their choices are before making your choice (i.e. you could decide to take Tackle once you find out your opponent is Amazons, you cannot wait to find out if they are taking Dodge as a skill ring before selecting Tackle)
1. Block OR Wrestle
2. Dodge OR Tackle
3. Guard OR Leader
INJURIES / SPP / WINNINGS / ETC
This is a resurrection tournament (all injuries will reset at the start of each game). Any Jack’s coach planning on participating in the next league season will be given a boost to their Season 5 team.
*** The team you play during the tournament doesn’t need to be the same team you play in S5 ***
OTHER NOTES
We will be using the GW Winter Weather chart for all games
Prior to each game the TO will determine a weather result and all tables will use the same result (unless otherwise modified by kick off events).
Illegal procedure will not be in use
If after 60 minutes your game has not entered the second half a timer will be enforced for the match. Each coach will have 30 minutes on a chess timer to complete their game.
AWARDS
The following awards are available to be won. A maximum of one award can be won by any coach.
1st Place
Best Sportsmanship
Most Touchdowns
Most Casualties
Wooden Spoon
Update: Feb 26, 2019
1. Match-ups will be random for game 1
2. After game 1, match-ups will be determined swiss-style
3. Tournament points will be (W/T/L): 5/2/0
4. Tiebreakers will be strength of schedule, TD differential, casualty differential
5. Illegal procedure will not be enforced
6. Piling on does not require a team re-roll |

As long as the roads are open, I will drive up from KW. I'll ask around the leagues to see if I can't fill the car while I'm at it.
Had a blast last year. That restaurant across the street was a great lunch spot too. Jack's is such a cool spot. Looking forward to it. |
