The South East Tournament Series will be running again in 2025. It is NAF approved, with all of the information below. We will link to the posts for individual events as and when they are available. The series will expanding in terms of the number of events for which you can earn qualifying points.

This is an annual tournament series intended to cover the South East of England. This is quite a liberal interpretation of the South East, as can be seen by the list of events below.

For 2025, we have aligned our rulespack with the South West Tournament Series, Midlands Tournament Series and London Tournament Series. All the details are below, with the key change being that your top 3 qualifying scores (it was top 5 in 2024) will be what forms your final score.

The Discord for Blood Bowl South East will be the best place to follow the Series: https://discord.gg/xWNBrZMBq4 Feel free to join the server even if you not participating in the series as it is a good place to share leagues and events in the area.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS

A provisional calendar for 2025 is outlined below. Events are in various stages - some are confirmed and now on sale, some are confirmed to be in the series but with details to be confirmed, and some are to be confirmed if they are both running and if they are, whether they are in the series. We are open to applications for additional events in new locations until 1st January 2025. At that point, no additional events can enter the series.

We have asked TOs in all of the BloodBowl hotspots in the South East if they're interested in an event. If you are running events in a location without one in the series and are interested in putting one in, please get in touch.

If the decision is made to limit the number of events in 2026, TOs from 2025 will be offered a slot in the calendar prior to new TOs.

RULESPACK

The series will run from 1st January 2025 to 31st December 2025.

What is expected of Tournament Organisers (TOs)

Any TOs are welcome to put forward events to run as part of the series. The exact date does not need to be confirmed when requesting an event to run in the series, although obviously it will assist in the series admin if dates are finalised as early as possible.

All events should have a capacity of 24 coaches or more.

We expect Tournament Organisers to:

- To have each event submitted for NAF approval asap (ideally before 1 Jan 2025 but we are very aware this is often not feasible).
- Advise the TSO as and when the date and venue is finalised.
- To provide the TSO with full details of final standings as well as either races used or at a minimum identifying which coaches played a stunty race.
- Once the scoring software has been finalised, we may have requirements for the best way to share these scores with us.
- To include that the event is part of the relevant series when advertising it
- To be awesome to each other (eg promote other events, encourage attendance at other events etc).
- To upload results to the NAF in a timely manner.
- To let the TSO know asap if there are any issues.

TOURNAMENT SERIES FORMAT

Tournament Series Prizes

- 1st Place
- 2nd Place
- 3rd Place
- Stunty cup

* The stunty cup will take a coach’s top 3 scores with any of the stunty teams. For clarification, these are goblins, gnomes, halflings, ogres and snotlings. Any new team released by GW and officially placed in tier 3 will likely count, although this is at the TSO’s discretion.

Tournament Series Points

In order to be eligible for any of the awards, a coach must have competed in a minimum of three events in the series. The scores used to form a coaches series score will be their three best scores.

Points will be awarded with the 1st placed coach receiving 15 points or the number of entrants in the event, whichever is lower. Each place below this gets 1 point less (e.g. 2nd place 14 points, 3rd place 13 points) down to 15th place.

There is an additional point for every 10 coaches below you (i.e. in larger tournaments you will get additional points for a top 10 finish, and lower placings will also receive points). These additional points are capped at 5, making the maximum score achievable in any one event 20 points.

Note: Whatever tiebreakers are used in each event will determine the final finishing position used to calculate points awarded.

For all BloodBowl 11s events, after the points have been calculated a multiplier of 1.x will be applied to scores where x is the number of games in the tournament. A 3 game tournament will have a multiple of 1.3, a 6 game tournament will have a multiplier of 1.6 and so on.

As an example, someone finishes 3rd out of 26 in a 3 game tournament. Their score would be 13 points for the third place finish, with an additional 2 points for there being 23 coaches below them. These 15 points are then multiplied by 1.3, giving a score of 19.5 points.

No multiplier will apply for variant events (e.g. Sevens, Dungeonbowl).

Team Tournaments
Whilst a team event is exactly that, a team event - the Tournament Series is an individual event. Therefore, only individual scores from team events will be taken towards the Tournament Series points and not the team finishing position.

In order to be eligible for any of the awards, a coach must have competed in a minimum of three events in the series. The scores used to form a coaches series score will be their three best scores.

Tiebreakers

To differentiate between coaches on the same number of points, the following tiebreakers will be used:

Number of tournaments won
Best score
Second best score
Third best score
Total tournaments attended
Coin toss

We, the Tournament Series Organisers (TSOs) of the vaguely Southern UK Tournament Series, have been working together recently to align our rulespacks for 2025.

This affects the South West Tournament Series (TSO: Nazgob), South East Tournament Series (TSO: Stewbacca), Midlands Series (TSO: Dodge22) and the upcoming London Series (TSO: SalonTiger).

We have made the decision to have the same rulespack across all four of these tournament series which will benefit both us as TSOs and you as players.

As TSOs it will allow us to provide the fairest rulespack possible by using each other as sounding boards when changes need to be made, and to have a wider experience of how the rulespack plays out over the coming years. It will also allow us to create one piece of scoring software rather than each of us creating our own unique system. We can also pool our resources to make the way that the information is presented and shared with you as good as possible, hopefully with a snazzy website.

Note: each individual event in all of the series will have it's own individual ruleset.

For those playing in the series, the main advantage will be the best rulespack we are able to come up with collectively. For those players either on the borders of more than one series, or are willing to travel, you will have a consistent rulespack across the multiple series in which you are competing.

There may be a couple of things unique to each series, e.g. what the cut off point for submitting events is or what events are eligible to become part of the series, but the core rulespack including the scoring system will remain the same.

On top of this, we have been looking to host a Champion of Champions Event. The date, location and details are being worked on, but the best players from each series will be invited to compete against each other. More details on this will be announced when they are available.

To view the rulespack of a series, you will be able to find them on both TalkFantasyFootball within Upcoming Tournaments: UK (https://www.talkfantasyfootball.org/viewforum.php?f=59) and on the NAF Forums within NAF Tournament Series: Europe (https://member.thenaf.net/index.php?name=PNphpBB2...)
