When the chainsaw has been taken to the field, this gives the other team the possibility to get the player expelled after a TD or the end of the half.

But what happens if:

THe player has been ko´ed during the drive, is not expelled, and does not make his KO roll, so he has to stay in the ko box for the next kick off.

Can the other team then get a new possibility to expell the player after the next TD? Or is it necessary for the player to have been on the field for that drive before he can get explled?

Looking at this from the other direction, there's no Penalty roll if the player doesn't take the pitch, so no, in the case you stated above, the coach doesn't make a 2nd roll.

Actually I'd interpret that as saying if you take the field you make the penalty roll - your status at the end of the drive is irrelevant.

Correct.

The player has to take the field with the weapon, so the opposing coach is NOT allowed to make a Penalty Roll for the player if he has not been on the field this drive.
