lackey has bought his ticket now.
A word of warning for those people intending to drive from East Anglia - from 9pm on Friday 19th to 5am on Monday 22nd they are closing the A14 at Newmarket (where it splits to go south as the A11) Diversions will be in place, but I advise leaving earlier to make sure you don't get caught out.

This affects me too, so it looks like I'll be up even earlier on the Saturday & Sunday Rolling Eyes Smile

EDIT: For those who haven't bought tickets yet, anytime now would be ideal Smile The deadline is for a week before the event.

There are about 3 or maybe 4 tickets left now after a few dropouts... PM or email me if you know people are interested.

EDIT: I've also started sending out "gentle" payment reminders which will change to "forceful" and "aggresive" over the next few weeks Wink

Also, Al_the_trowel is now definitely coming.

Oh, why are more and more good players coming. Is there no-one left for me to beat.

(Must start planning the route today).

well I've made the final award/prize list, matching each of the awards to the relevant trophy & prize. Do people want to see how I've decided to split the prizes up? If more people say yes than no in the next week or so then I'll post the list.

Something else though... for putting up with about 4 months of nothing but Blood Bowl, occaisonal mad-panics about gettting into debt over this tourney, helping out on the day and generally being a BB widow, I thought it might be nice to get a bunch of flowers and a box of chocoloates for the missus (I did initially think about a painted Zara figure, or a Shadowforge one, but she wouldn't appreciate it Wink). Dan Titan then suggested we pass a hat round and see if people were willing to pay a couple of pounds into the pot for it, but I've came up with an alternate idea....

I've got a signed 2003 Annual (Andy Hall & JKL at the mo) and I thought it might be a nice idea to get all the competitors to sign it and maybe leave a short message. Then, rather than simply "add it on" to a random award, I could do a raffle. Tickets would be something like 50p each (maybe a maximum of 5 tickets each?) and then winner would get the Annual as a good memento. The money would then be used to get flowers & chocolates for her.... what do you think about it?

I'm in the enviable position of having more prizes than there are awards to win Rolling Eyes Very Happy

Yes give us prize breakdown (can you beat the britcon person to prize ratio?), and why not do a raffle and a collection for your good woman?

My wife sends your wife her sympathies and says that she can relate.

So you have set specific prizes for the different trophies. That's interesting, the way we work it out on this side of the pond we usually let the winners pick which prize they want from the pool of available prizes. Of course if the guy running the tournament isn't carefull in the order he calls out the winners you can have third place getting a better prize than first. What I'll be doing at the Death Bowl is announcing all the winners and then letting each winner in turn select their prize. Starting with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Best Painted, Most TD's, Most Casualties, and lastly most Sporting. The Wooden Spoon will be a set prize, though I'm not sure what that is yet Confused

Brian

Yes, post the list.

And yes, pass the hat, vicar. I know how much of a BB widow my wife is sometimes, and I'm not organizing a tourney, so your good lady deserves it (just for putting up with you Wink )

I think your raffle is a good idea - just remind the competitors NOT to address the messages to your wife, since it's not her who's gonna get that annual... Wink
